Forgot to take 5.0 F150 Coyote fans down a notch. Yes it also has more torque than the 5.0 😮 and at a MUCH lower Rpm. The 5.0 may be a hair quicker but not what i need a truck for. This is better suited for towing, although this 1/4 ton chassis isnt as capable as the 1/2 ton. But can be made even more so with a set of airbags, imo. See my other video on this channel with a Colorado air bag review! Tows like a tank when you add these with no squishy squishy or front end bouncing. I want to but my need for them has gone down the last few years. Its probably gonna happen when i put the 5160s in the rear.
@BrianBourgeois- look at the torque curves... they don't lie. Your not tickled because I signaled out the 5.0 for not pulling as well as a 4 cylinder. You will be alright. Ford has decent entries.
@@thewireman134 it has nothing to with that. It’s the platform. As soon as you hook up a trailer that weighs more than 5k you’re going to feel the deficiencies, towing with a 1/4 ton platform.
@@BrianBourgeois- I fully understand there is more stability on a 1/2 ton generally speaking. It's this trucks strength the easily accessible torque, which makes it a joy to tow under 7k pounds. I get it Ford has the powerboost and likely the 3.5 that can tug pretty hard at low rpms also. These smaller trucks weigh about the same as the larger 1/2 tons these days too. So really the larger footprint and suspension tuning and maybe larger brakes is the only thing that makes the 1/2 ton a better vehicle to tow heavier with. All stock suspension thats not specialty off road blows though imo

It was made by the GM diesel team and its roots show how awesomely different it is when driving at especially 10-20% throttle. It loses steam up high RPM but never guessed they can make a little gasser feel so much like a diesel. It has similar qualities in that respect, alot down low but leaves you wanting more when your wringing it out.
I have a 23 Canyon AT4X w/4k miles. I thought the stereo was weak until I adjusted the equalizer. Now I think it is very nice. The base will actually rattle anything I may have stowed in the door pockets. Just about rattles my teeth.
@mr.bopington6065 bose in the denali.. instead of a legitimate sub they decided to make all speakers a half azz sub and put more bass in the front. Unfortunately this cost cutting causes the system to fall very short of expectations and the performance of older systems there Is no hard hitting anything. Even after equalizer adjustments GM trys to bring weak bass closer to the user instead of bringing real thump

Just got the 2024 Canyon AT4. Love it but when you set the seat you have to hold the button down till the seat is where you want it. Not a deal breaker but my previous truck you just hit the button and it would go.
Hello Mike, I also own a canyon Denali mine is in deep bronze. I have never seen another canyon Denali on the street EVER! Don’t know why but the dealers are not really pushing the midsize trucks in my market. I did the sub and installed it under my back seat. Love it!
Awesome, love the truck also, did the subwoofer help the audio? The bronze would be pretty slick for a Denali. I seen only 1 Denali in the last year and I travel through Chicago. Only 1 AT4 also. We will have a standout for a LONG time. Gonna be selling the Rangers like grapes at the grocery store. They are gonna be everywhere so even more glad to have the gmc. I really *want* to like the 2024 GMC Canyon Denali, but as a 2012 Honda Ridgeline owner, it feels like I’d be taking a step backwards. My Ridgeline has features like a power sliding rear window, bed lights, and a solid V6 engine that gets the same fuel economy as this 4-cylinder. It’s hard to justify the switch when I’d be missing some essentials I already enjoy in my current truck. It’s a no-go for me.
I have a 2023 AT4X with 20k miles, been in dealership at least once a month since I bought it new with check engine light. It’s had 3 data upgrade recalls and still can’t figure out computer data problems. Truck looks and runs great besides the check engine light. Waiting for 2025 AT4X to trade in hopefully they fix all glitches.
Wow. Great review. This has confirmed what I've been looking for. I was looking for a luxury-type feel truck almost like a Mercedes. Your comment is spot on. Did you put those 19,000 miles on it? I bought my 2023 Colorado Trail Boss July 3 and only put 37 hundred miles on it and thought I was putting to many miles on it! I did pay it off , now plan on doing what I want to it! I just want 2 more inch lift and some Colorado ZR2 wheels, I got the 430# torque calibration, red tow hooks, mines same color as your truck! Got every option you can get on one including power seat, tow package , damped tail gate with storage in TG, Sprayed in liner etc 41,100 I’m happy with what I got and didn’t want to spend over 50k for a ZR2
Not having the keyless entry on the rear doors would drive me nuts. Also, do they all come with the horrible side step? I love your retractable step, but did you have to remove the factory step? Or were you able to get it without it?
My 2024 has everything yours doesn’t save the power rear slider, which I hardly ever open anyway. The funny paint is supposed to be chip resistant from rocks. Also, if you got that right off a Dealer lot instead of ordering it, that’s why you’re shorted those items.
I think this the best looking midsize truck out there I’m in market soon it should be a great daily driver I have a 19 ram with hemi I’m keeping and use it from time to time but this for daily going down garden state should work
I have 2023 canyon Denali ... 15k ... starter just replaced , gas tank cover was getting stuck had to be replaced, and some programming recalls.... love the truck...just hope it runs trouble free from here on....
I have a 23' Denali I bought in July of 23'. Buyers remorse bigtime. Can't wait to trade this thing. So many corners cut in production, engine goes through 1.5qt of oil over 5k miles, electronic glitches ect. Too bad. It's nice looking but that's about it.
@@adamh2203 sorry you experience these issues. My oil consumption is only 1/2 a quart over 5k miles. I don't have any of the other issue you stated you have. Grass is always greener on the other side. I am indeed happy with this drivetrain and excellent tech

Have you been experiencing any glitches with the infotainment system? Of the 2 issues with my 23 AT4 i had under a year were the turbo blowing and glitches with my infotainment system. More in particular with the android auto Have to reboot the computer every 4-5 weeks because the screen will go black.
Well. Not really something I want to re live! Lol.. I can tell you that you need only a ground, constant 12v source, and an ignition 12v source. There is a fuse box under the passenger dash that you can use mini fuse taps to tap into. There are detailed pics out there for the 23 Colorado on where to tap that helped me out. The headliner is VERY tight and hard to work with, although the added protection of the final product is worth it.
280 I think. It's not bright enough in sunshine so I cannot recommend this exact model. I have a smaller wolfbox with retractable camera that is MUCH brighter and actually possible to see in bright conditions.
I like the front interior. Strange no bed light. Looks good on the outside too. Back interior, well like you said. I think i might question the long term reliability between the motor and the electronics. But i guess you'll find out. It is nice looking

I dont think that paint issue is from your boot.... Its too close to the hinge side of the door. My guess is you ran over a stick or those all terrain tires flung a rock. Ive already got my mudflaps ready for mine ..... If it EVER gets here. 14 weeks now from order date. 😡
Well the paint on that lower panel can b3 scraped off with a fingernail so it's definitely different. The texture is different too, must have used rustoleoum ace hardware special there lol

Comparatively speaking these twins are always directly after the full size so like 6 or 7 vehicles with the best resale... Denali is a pretty well known and sought after trim so I would imagine it's better resale than a base truck.. the days of trading a truck every three years for most is over though i think they have gotten so expensive..

No, it’s not better than any of those other trucks, and certainly not better than the Nissan Frontier in terms of reliability. With the paint already flaking off that thing it will be a complete rust bucket in 5 or 6 years.
@Commentleaver-c6x nissan is the bottom feeder of mid size trucks, full size trucks, economy cars, and full size cars, plain and simple. That's one of the reasons why it's the cheapest. The other is they have to cater to a lower income group. They have to sell them for less otherwise no one would buy them. #truth Can't even compare the two. Enjoy rocking your Frontier though, someone has to buy that 1999 technology.

Yep pretty easy since the truck is fairly high, much easier than any car. About 6 inches behind the front axle facing upwards.

Yeah, get a Nissan frontier it comes with bed lights and a naturally aspirated v6 that will be much more reliable than this 4 cylinder turbo junk.

My issue is... 19.7 MPG is terrible for these trucks. My 2017 2.8 baby Duramax got 25-30 easily

No, it’s not better than any of those other trucks, and certainly not better than the Nissan Frontier in terms of reliability. With the paint already flaking off that thing it will be a complete rust bucket in 5 or 6 years.
@Commentleaver-c6x nissan is the bottom feeder of mid size trucks, full size trucks, economy cars, and full size cars, plain and simple. That's one of the reasons why it's the cheapest. The other is they have to cater to a lower income group. They have to sell them for less otherwise no one would buy them. #truth Can't even compare the two. Enjoy rocking your Frontier though, someone has to buy that 1999 technology.

What timeline of longevity info do you have from the 3.8? Oh yea Nissan sold 18 of them. Lol. Nissan is a bottom feeder truck, cheap, no power, terrible fuel economy, and one of the worst transmissions made. It sells because it's the CHEAPEST truck you can buy. @@thewireman134 Nissan is ranked higher than GMC in JD Powers 2024 reliability rankings. I can’t help it if some people get ripped off buying trucks that are overpriced. The frontier has the same horsepower, 310, as the substandard GM trucks.
@@Commentleaver-c6x convenient that you forgot to mention the Nissan has 280 foot pounds of torque whereas the Colorado and Canyon have 430 foot pounds of torque. It's called truck duty.. used for truck stuff. Maybe you should learn yourself sometin if you think these powertrains can even come close to being compared. Nissan is made to cater to a different crowd brother, it's made to be cheap just a fact. Enjoy your car engine in your frontier..
