Great video - nicely done! I'm first timer viewer of his videos. His voice is absolutely perfect for these videos - kind of invokes how pleasent the Canadian people really are! Wish i was born in Canada....reckon the US will just have to do tho!
awesome trip report! good to see the a220 in use, especially by AC. Glad to see that despite these tough times people like you still get to make reports about aviation! :D
Great video. I got to fly on one of these beauties this past weekend between DEN and YUL. Such a nice plane. The flight was packed, and AC seems to have trimmed back on the Clean Kits (no food or drink), but the kits are pretty cool, and appreciated. First time traveling since November '19.
Great trip report! The A220-300 is such a magnificent bird. I hope Air Canada deploys them on a few thin Caribbean routes like St. Kitts, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines since they have the range for the Caribbean. 😀
They may however it depends on the demands too alow The A220's from Air Canada on whether or not too travel too the Caribbean subject too Government approval is not gonna happen just as yet but will wait & see first.
@@karlossargeant3872 all Rouge A319s have retired with the mainline A319s retiring at the end of this year and the A320s are gradually retiring from the fleet, so while the 737 Max are still grounded, they may put a few A220-300s on the Caribbean route. I wouldn't count them out yet.
Great report as per usual! I really liked the A220 when I flew on Delta's last year, that one did have the window in the washroom and I really liked that, The overall cabin is great and Bombardier did a great job making that aircraft!
Another great video, Alex! Quick note though - I recently flew YYZ-YVR on WJ (Sept) and there was no buy-on-board service. From what WJ's staff told us, it really is a day-to-day process. On this particular day - no luck. Ah well I still love em. I flew the return on AC and also found those surgical gowns to be a little...unsettling lol. Keep the good stuff coming!
Pre-purchasing meals on Air Canada has been around since October 2016, because I saw that option to get a meal voucher when confirming my reservation for my flight to YVR from YYZ.
The service level seems to be consistent with mainline carrier here in the States. Except we don't have the pre order option. In economy it's just the bag handed out at the door. First class gets one of the snack boxes that would normally be for purchase in economy in place of the meal.
I would so love to fly on one of those babies as I am in the UK I would probably have to go to Zurich with Swiss Air as they have the A220, would love to go to Canada one day though beautiful place. PS I love the eyeliner on the Air Canada planes.
Great video, got my subscribe 👍. I really hope @qantas buy the A220 as I think it’d be a wonderful plane for many Australian routes and to replace their older 737s. NO MAX’s please Qantas, you don’t want to risk your fantastic safety record 😬
Love this aircraft so much its my new favorite. It blows the Boeing Max all to hell in every way. If I have to fly to Toronto or Montreal it's on Air Canada's A220. I always use to fly with Westjet but with everything that has come out about the Max and now the B787 quality control not unless I absolutleyhave to. Sorry Westjet but Boeing is a non starter for me now, 2 flights in a Max with an undertrained crew was enough. Can not remember ever flighing that low on a trip over an hour in length. Must of been some heavy head winds higher up.
Flew on the 220 a couple weeks back from yyz to yow. Was only about 20 people on board, the crew took off like a fighter jet and we were flying at a speed of 860km/h for most of the flight. Couldn’t believe how quiet and comfy it was. The head rest with adjustable sides was nice, too bad the flight was only 50mins
I had my 1st AC post-COVID flights early in August (YYZ-YVR) return on a 787-9 outbound and a 777-200 return, both in signature (business) class in a pod, The box lunches were really very good (better than the “weird” meals you often get up front).
Great video. Can’t wait to fly in one of these. Have flown Airbus exclusively for the last year before Covid. Yes gloves are overkill. Unless you change them constantly then you and other people are better off washing your hands regularly. They are only valid if you want to maintain a sterile environment ie you are performing surgery.
Air Inuit 737-200 in the back ground! 1:38 You should try and catch one of their flights one day Alex! I know you have flown Canadian North's 737-200's as well. Just love those P&W JT8D low bypass turbo fans. Great video on the A220 formerly CSeries Bombardier. What I don't understand, if this jet is so new, why don't the new designs incorporate the roof mounted satellite antenna, (easily seen while at gate at 1:38) instead of having a protrusion near the trail fin. Wouldn't it be more aerodynamic? I understand having to do this on older designs that didn't anticipate wireless internet access in this day and age.
I honestly miss the old 93-03 Green Tail livery. I also miss the pre-covid buy-on-board. Especially for a flight THAT long. Even IF it costs an arm and a leg.
Bro I came back to Toronto end of August on AC's a320 in the old livery, and I found it more comfortable than the 787-9 when I went to Calgary on August 13th, just due to the fact on the a320 the middle seat was empty whereas both the middle and aisle seats were taken on the 787, i was window seat both times.
you need to do the same trip on row 13 so we can compare your opinion after 4 hours squished into charter carrier seat pitch. Rouging the mainline needs to be undone if AC wants to nnake people WANT to fly again. Empty seats cost fuel to haul all over the place so AC woukdnreduce loss by remiving row of seats and giving humane seat pitch BTW it is now the Airbus facility at Mirabel BTW2: love your use of « cloud surfing » .
What was the surcharge for the preferred seating? How long did you stay in Montreal? If you stay in any hotels on your various trips during Covid-19 I would be interested in a report on how they are handling the situation. Suggest include the actual date of the flight in your reports, not just the month. By the way, how are your flying lessons going, do you have your private license yet? Enjoyed your fairly recent video of your first solo on the Cessna 172 at Edmonton/Villeneuve (long commute from YYC!)
Efficiency that makes airlines happy. Comfort that makes passengers happy. Videos that make subscribers happy. :-) It's a while since I've flown on anything bigger than a Q400. They may be efficient, but they're far from comfortable...
Nothing beats a sunset approach with no one leaning over the top of you to look out the window, I guess that's the only positive in today's circumstances
Will all the issues with Boeing, it's kind of sad that Bombardier couldn't hold on to the program. The Canadian public didn't have the stomach for more tax subsidies, but what's the overall cost of selling out homegrown engineering & technology...again.
Jesus Fried Christ the sun is the same sun wherever one is, i do not get why folk say the sunset is best in one place or r another. it has been said about everywhere.
Hopefully, AC starts with some sort of service, maybe slowly introduce their bistro menu, in the near future as some domestic flights are 6+ hours. With the "second wave' coming though, it may be awhile =/.
"I still think the A220 might be the best new narrowbody aircraft out there." TOTALLY disagree. The A220 is ABSOLUTELY the best new narrowbody aircraft out there! :)
That dual-shot takeoff was AWESOME
HOLY COW, those clouds on take off were so stunning, i almost got emotional. Flying really is incredible isn't it? Thanks Alex
This trip report was awesome! I loved the way you opened up the Care Package!
Love the A220! I think the air canada livery looks amazing in it!
Great video - nicely done! I'm first timer viewer of his videos. His voice is absolutely perfect for these videos - kind of invokes how pleasent the Canadian people really are! Wish i was born in Canada....reckon the US will just have to do tho!
I love how clearly the engine reflects the fuselage!
Amazing job Alex with the trip report! Love those A220 (CS300s)
awesome trip report! good to see the a220 in use, especially by AC. Glad to see that despite these tough times people like you still get to make reports about aviation! :D
Enjoyed this video. The 220-300 seems so quiet, including at takeoff. Such a beautiful aircraft.
Great trip report ! Hope to fly on the A220 one day !
This video was stunning to watch.
Seems very quiet! Nice smooth flight. All the usual bells and whistles. Very pretty aircraft!
Great video.

First time traveling since November '19.
Fantastic Trip Report Alex! I'm very surprised about the A220 and man I need to try it out myself!!!
Excellent video. Just fantastic
Great Video Alex! Thumbs up for the Pratt n’ Whitney GTFs and another thumbs up to Mark Brandon for the ground footage!
Great video, great aircraft 😊
Nice firm landing. Excellent trip report! Thumbs up
Great trip review! It was nice to see you flying again. I hope you had a great time in Montreal!!
Great trip report! The A220-300 is such a magnificent bird. I hope Air Canada deploys them on a few thin Caribbean routes like St. Kitts, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines since they have the range for the Caribbean. 😀

St.Kitts & Nevis they'll send the A319's,A320's & A321's but sorry too say man no A220's for the Caribbean as Yet I won't get my hopes up about it.
Great work, as usual. You keep your reviews honest and simple, with great videography. I appreciate that.
Great report as per usual! I really liked the A220 when I flew on Delta's last year, that one did have the window in the washroom and I really liked that, The overall cabin is great and Bombardier did a great job making that aircraft!
what a stunning video!!!!
That was an awesome takeoff on the Air Canada a220-300 airbus aircraft and really quiet. Awesome trip report Alex.

After watching this video I booked 5 tickets for my whole family. We are going to Toronto for holidays. Yehhh Go AirCanada!!!
You’ll love Toronto, great city 👌. I’m dying to fly on the A220
show off. lol.
Pre-purchasing meals on Air Canada has been around since October 2016, because I saw that option to get a meal voucher when confirming my reservation for my flight to YVR from YYZ.
The PW1200G for the MRJ was the last project my father worked on before he retired from Pratt & Whitney
WOW I really like the seat arrangements you only seen then on dc9 and Boeing 717 that’s a lot of leg room
Those are some awesome clouds after takeout wow !
Genuinely stunning video!
Another great trip report keep em coming
Great report! Must say, those windows! 👍 also, the new IFE 👍👍
Great video! The visuals were beautiful.
Stunning footage...I sure miss these views 🙁
Interesting about the service, in August they did 2 drink services on my flight from Toronto to Regina
GJXY was the first A220 I got a picture of at YYC
The service level seems to be consistent with mainline carrier here in the States. Except we don't have the pre order option. In economy it's just the bag handed out at the door. First class gets one of the snack boxes that would normally be for purchase in economy in place of the meal.

Awesome video of a great aircraft! =D
Excellent as usual Alex !!! :):):)
Keep up the good work. YUL, love the airport
A220 are fantastic

Couldn’t believe how quiet and comfy it was. The head rest with adjustable sides was nice, too bad the flight was only 50mins
I had also flown on Air Canada in July 2020 on a 777, 787, and A320. I love the video btw!
Sat in 12F on my way home Fromm YYZ a couple weeks ago! Definitely a great plane
Very good!
Very cool video, makes it easy to see how Boeing sees this aircraft as a threat to their market share. Would love to fly on one.
I had my 1st AC post-COVID flights early in August (YYZ-YVR) return on a 787-9 outbound and a 777-200 return, both in signature (business) class in a pod, The box lunches were really very good (better than the “weird” meals you often get up front).
It's such a good looking plane😍
Great Video, I can't believe that some people disliked this amazing masterpiece!!!
BREATHTAKING views👍 and a very cool video, subscribed!😜
Greetings from Germany!
Great video. Can’t wait to fly in one of these. Have flown Airbus exclusively for the last year before Covid.

Air Inuit's on the list! They're just very very expensive (even by Canadian standards) 😅
Great video Alex just moved to yyc
Wish they would run the A220 from YEG to YYC. That's a route a frequent. Hopefully when they get more they will.
Ideal aircraft for internal flights to destinations around Canada? I.e Vancouver to Fort st john etc. etc.
Do you recall if there was power in your row and where the outlets were?
I have a picture of that plane departing from yyz interestingly enough
I saw that you were mentioned in a news story about trip reporting
Although I’m more of a Boeing fan, I have to say the A220 is an amazing aircraft!
I honestly miss the old 93-03 Green Tail livery. I also miss the pre-covid buy-on-board. Especially for a flight THAT long. Even IF it costs an arm and a leg.
what a nice and quite steep takeoff!
Nice video and I'm also a subscriber of Mark Brandon ..I was surprised u know him ,also followed u on Instagram
Wow nice, It’s a cumulonimbus cloud, probably a multi-cell thunderstorm generated by cold front, with a broken cloud ceiling coverage around 7/8
The video was so cleanly done that I'll just take the liquid on the lavatory floor as water.

Lavs are in the aft galley? Isn't that unsanitary?
Efficiency that makes airlines happy. Comfort that makes passengers happy. Videos that make subscribers happy. :-)
It's a while since I've flown on anything bigger than a Q400. They may be efficient, but they're far from comfortable...
Did anyone else notice how bright the NAV lights are on the a220?
Who else saw the 737-200 in the back ground 1:37
amazing video again i think i saw you take off from YEG on one of your solo flights on Friday did you fly on Friday?
Did you use to include ATC in reviews?
Nothing beats a sunset approach with no one leaning over the top of you to look out the window, I guess that's the only positive in today's circumstances
3:15 I was about to comment on why you were wearing gloves
Will all the issues with Boeing, it's kind of sad that Bombardier couldn't hold on to the program. The Canadian public didn't have the stomach for more tax subsidies, but what's the overall cost of selling out homegrown engineering & technology...again.
I flew on westjet last week YYC-YYZ and there was still only water bottles and biscoffs.
What are you doing in Montréal city 🇨🇦 ?
Calgarian sunsets are world renowned.
Jesus Fried Christ the sun is the same sun wherever one is, i do not get why folk say the sunset is best in one place or
r another. it has been said about everywhere.
I Love Air Canada A220-300 I hope too fly with them soon when COVID-19 is gone completly.
Hopefully, AC starts with some sort of service, maybe slowly introduce their bistro menu, in the near future as some domestic flights are 6+ hours. With the "second wave' coming though, it may be awhile =/.
Finally got your row 12 seat 😂
Nice video man! I'm still upset with AC for not giving me refund though.
Great video, though I don’t understand what makes PPE dystopian...
WHERE IS THE DC-10 tail engine where did that so loved pfp go ?😭😭
I flew from St. John’s NL to Winnipeg Manitoba my first flight was on the max the next flight was on an a220 the A220 was so much better
hi alex how you doing? what is your favroite airport?
when there’s a window in the bathroom
birds: how u doing there bud
How much space is in a "ton"...?
Walter Sickinger lots
I keep thinking your Alex from ice road trucking lol
Your contact info for the trip report are amazing
Why is AC so restrictive on food/beverage service?
JC Baily the less exchanging of items between folk, less chance of contamination, obvious.
"I still think the A220 might be the best new narrowbody aircraft out there."
TOTALLY disagree.
The A220 is ABSOLUTELY the best new narrowbody aircraft out there! :)
This video made me want to travel even less...ty Covid
The engine sound
