- I said this would happen four months ago but at least its out right.
That means these vocals are also four months old and I have definitely improved since then but i didn't want to re-record sooooo.
I know this sounds very very different from the original recording but I really wanted to put my spin on it. This is how I imagine Angelica feeling during the whole shebang. My whole thought process while singing it was based around the idea that Angelica has found the (first) love of her life while she’s surrounded by all these boring dudes who she has interest in. Wouldn’t she be super excited and giddy??

I love how this is different from the origional. While og Angelica sound regretful, she also sounds angry, at herself, at Alexander and at the world. Your version sounds very sad, like she's about to cry. Like the stuff that happened with Alexander, her breif moment of happiness, was everything she needed to convince her that she was going to be unhappy for the rest of her life.

I agree. You can barely understand her. She has a tendency to act first, sing second, and it produces some nice moments, but she needs to learn to reign it in. I think it would be nice in dashes, constraining it to something like: "You see it, right?" "It's a dreeeeeam! And it's abitofadance" I don't know what precise moments, but if she picked about two or three points to linger a little and fangirl, then I do think it would spice it up and put her own mark on it.
I get that it's hard to stand out just performing the piece as written, but there's a reason the actual Broadway cast dials back the acting during songs.
