I bought this module over the weekend, which represents my first foray into the world of Eurorack. Appreciate your informative video and look forward to watching more in the near future.
Nah, Clouds is just so chock full o' goodness that I need to watch your vids multiple times for it all to sink in! You do a fine job demonstrating all the features. Nice systematic walk through.
Apologies if you said this and I missed it, but is the texture only a low pass filter in these Easter egg modes? It normally changes the stereo field, right? Excellent video as usual!
I recently accessed the alternative modes and am having issues as things have changed. Before when I held button 2nd from left for a second to enter the audio mode the button was green to toggle between the audio 4 modes and now it’s solid orange. I don’t recall button press but I have had the first led and third light up at same time when toggling through. Sorry to bring up question on such an old module. Any advice you can provide is much appreciated. Cheers
alright, so, when i first got this, i was trying to change the length and amount of bits of the buffer... and moved to spectral madness..... which at the time i thought was spectral delay or something so my mind was like...thinking "im obviously in granular mode" ... welp.. no.. i was in spectral mode and kinda.. kinda deep down thought i broke it like, somehow i fried something lol i also kept skipping this video because I really wanted granular mode..... well.. i finally go.. might as well check out the other modes just in case just the granular part is broken lolol yep... thank you divkid for fixing my clouds! im an idiot sometimes lol also yall go buy Divkid mutes, its awesome! (kind of difficult build but, worth it)
@4:24 it shows how to enter the other mods ... COOL Cool thank . Wish this had a Blend knob for every mods for a more hands-on rather then menu diving ... But it's such a great Module . PS Great Track man !!!!
ah nice one! Intelligent HipHop I'll take as a compliment. I've since signed that off to a publisher so I'll try to get a link from them if they have it up publicly anywhere.
frostynka The track in the final part of the video "Spectral Madness Mode" is an old track on my own. Never released, was some final year university work actually. I'll happily send a copy over if you want.
Maybe a stupid question but I’m pretty new to modular. But when you place the cable patch in clouds, the one which lights up red, are you inserting the other side into another module or just placing it in to activate that mode?
Hi Bryan, cables aren't activating any modes here there's another module at the other end. The voltage from the other module is what's making the LED light up and change. Hope that helps.
KelleyBates Hi Kelley, the track at the end is an old track of mine that was from some University work. Was never released, happy to send it on if you message me an email address or something.
oh sweet, I really like it, you should finish it up (if you arent happy with it as is) and release it! But for sure, I'll message you my email if you don't mind :)
KelleyBates yeah please do message me your email and I'll send it on. It's finished as far as I'm concerned, happily edit it to add to my composition / production work if it were to be signed up but not going back to old stuff. Might just touch up the master and get it popping out of the speakers a bit more.
KelleyBates just seen both messages now, so I'll get the final track uploaded when I get in and send a direct link out of my dropbox account/folder in a reply to the message.
buzzfunk the Mutable manuals are a great read, doesn't feel like boring old manual reading at all. Well worth a look. Certainly inspires ideas while reading.
Cazaq google 'eurorack LED cable' and it's the first result :) - www.utopb.com/category/led-patch-cables/ - there's LEDs in the jacks that take powered from buffered outputs on modules. They show positive and negative signal level.
Tom Walker by going through the mode selection and going back to the first one (first LED on the left). Press and hold the blend mode button and immediately press the button to the right, as explained in this video (the one we're commenting on) at 4.16 - ua-cam.com/video/mrpaQSsY7hI/v-deo.htmlm16s hope that helps :) feel free to keep asking any questions or message me if you want to chat.
DivKidMusic thanks very much - thats really helpful - I couldn't work out that you had to go back to the one on the far left to get back to the original mode. cheers. Truly great series of videos by the way, really really informative!
hey ben I wanted know what sound card or hardware are you using to get sound into clouds i seen another vid of someone doing this with the shapshifter module from inteliji by I'm not sure how.
Hey, you've got a few options. Sound card essentially is irrelevant as it's unlikely to put out full eurorack levels if you want to get the level up to what you'll be used coming from say an oscillator. However Clouds does have some gain on the input level control to help boost things if you need it to (6dB I think it is). For cheap and cheerful you can use the Doepfer A-119 external pre amp module. That has loads of a gain on tap along with a derived envelope CV out (envelope follower) and gate (with threshold) so you get a bit more interaction from your audio source with CV and gate too. Let m know if you want chat about other options.
+costadeloro the input gain has +6dB of gain so it'll help to bump your levels up. I'd recommend getting an input module though if you're wanting to run gear into a modular set up. It's a nicer way of working with an input and outputs to keep everything in check.
Hey, I learn a lot from you, but sometimes you English is difficult two understand as a non native speaking Englishman, please talk more slow, Keep up the good work,,,peace love and modular yoga

Dude, I learned this module in no time thanks to ur videos....
nice one, good to hear.
Im always learning from YOU 🙏 much thanks ❤
thanks
Brilliant! I need to play this back in slo-mo, a few times. 🌞
Hi Greg, something move to fast and leave you with questions?
Nah, Clouds is just so chock full o' goodness that I need to watch your vids multiple times for it all to sink in! You do a fine job demonstrating all the features. Nice systematic walk through.
ok great, thanks Greg!
I just stared at that missing screw for 10 minutes.
Not missing, not needed! :)
My OCD needs it.
haha, you won't like the rest of the videos where I always just screw in modules in opposing corners and not all four screws ...
I never noticed it before, and I watched a lot of your videos a few times. (it's easier than reading the manual)
It must be the lighting.
lol
The online manual says: "It is not recommended to use these alternate modes if you plan to let Tony Rolando come play with your system." LOL
haha yeah I saw that after the Analogue Zone NAMM round up where Tony spoke about Clouds.
Apologies if you said this and I missed it, but is the texture only a low pass filter in these Easter egg modes? It normally changes the stereo field, right? Excellent video as usual!
Revisiting some videos that go over the spectral madness mode. Never really used it much. Want to start with this new project im recording currently.
Definitely a fun one to play with. Reminds me to go play with that some more too as I haven't had Clouds in the system for a while.

Get a Monsoon, it's Clouds with the blend modes on separate knobs and with CV control
WOW. Such fun stuff. Thank you!
Yeah lots of extras hidden away as Easter eggs.
cool track too man. can we hear it somewhere?
The thing at the end?
I'm talking about your track! the sample based intelligent hiphop track. I think it`s cool!
yeah at the end actually. around 7.30
ah nice one! Intelligent HipHop I'll take as a compliment. I've since signed that off to a publisher so I'll try to get a link from them if they have it up publicly anywhere.
here it is - synctracks.com/search.php?id=7222769&code=nT5NHc
Do we still have access to the other blend features in these modes? (reverb, feedback, stereo)
mqtthiqs yeah, you certainly do (think I say that at the end, probably not soon enough though)
Also preordered one few days ago.. Can you tell me name of the track you are processing @ 7:30 ?
frostynka The track in the final part of the video "Spectral Madness Mode" is an old track on my own. Never released, was some final year university work actually. I'll happily send a copy over if you want.
DivKidMusic It sounds really good, I also would love one!
mqtthiqs hey mate, do the same send me an email address and I'll happily upload a copy.
Can you "play" the sample pitch shift with 1V/OCT input? That would be some handy control.
yeah ... totally ace.

Oh my, I can't wait to get my hands on one of these.
Great track by the way, love the vibe! (Can I find it some where?)

Great videos indeed. Took me a while to find out how to access them. (i dont read manuals :p)
buzzfunk the Mutable manuals are a great read, doesn't feel like boring old manual reading at all. Well worth a look. Certainly inspires ideas while reading.
What are those cables? Why/how do they light up?
Cazaq google 'eurorack LED cable' and it's the first result :) - www.utopb.com/category/led-patch-cables/ - there's LEDs in the jacks that take powered from buffered outputs on modules. They show positive and negative signal level.

Stupid question, but how do you get out of the additional modes - how do you know when you're back in normal granular mode? thanks
Tom Walker by going through the mode selection and going back to the first one (first LED on the left). Press and hold the blend mode button and immediately press the button to the right, as explained in this video (the one we're commenting on) at 4.16 - ua-cam.com/video/mrpaQSsY7hI/v-deo.htmlm16s hope that helps :) feel free to keep asking any questions or message me if you want to chat.

nice one
does clouds accept line level input?
+costadeloro the input gain has +6dB of gain so it'll help to bump your levels up. I'd recommend getting an input module though if you're wanting to run gear into a modular set up. It's a nicer way of working with an input and outputs to keep everything in check.
thanks for the advice and your videos, very informative and appreciated
DivKidVideo like ears?
Does every mode have 4 saves or are they shared?
Ah great. Thanks for this!
thanks for watching and commenting.
how do i enable the alternative mode?
Watch from 4.18 I show you there - ua-cam.com/video/mrpaQSsY7hI/v-deo.htmlm19s - but press the blend mode then hit the save/load button next to it.
nice, that's a dilla beat.
the first bit?
Clouds is so nice but no longer produced, what is the alternative?
You can get a kit-built or micro version of Clouds quite easily, lots of builders out there.
@@strangemobius uClouds seems available.
Your track sounds like something by Lapalux
That's a compliment by the way ;)
discotechwreck I'm not aware of Lapalux, any suggested listening to go check it out? And thanks!
discotechwreck oh yeah! Definitely into this, big compliment! Thanks :) Gonna have to grab the album now as well.
@@DivKid I know this is old, but where can I grab that track of yours you sampled in the spectral madness mode? Also...Lapalux rules.
Bump
What’s the sample you used in the looping delay? I know this is old, sorry
very cool - thx!
xPump cheers!
microhouse heaven
krakou2 certainly is.
i heard not how to activate em?!
Preordered one. Now I want two!
michael matos yeah, imagine the granular mode then going into the spectral mode ... OMG! :D
oh wow
:)
Why does everybody like it that much?
Hey, I learn a lot from you, but sometimes you English is difficult two understand as a non native speaking Englishman, please talk more slow,
Keep up the good work,,,peace love and modular yoga
