Aaron, thank you for the video. I’m new to Apple and really want to learn shortcuts but I need to understand the process in my mind. I have thought of a task I do everyday and would like to make a shortcut so I don’t have to manually do it every morning. I have a reminders widget on my Home Screen. I have lists for each day of the week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday). I’d like to have a shortcut that will automatically set the reminders list for the current day. Currently I long press on the reminders widget and click on Edit Widget and then pick the current day to display today’s reminders. I can’t see an option for picking the current day in shortcut but there is an option for the current date, but my lists are by days of the week. How to you think through the process of what to do in making a shortcut for this? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thanks for the great info - i hope you can help with a question that nobody has been able to help with my iPhone 12 pro max - i have arthritis in my fingers, and it is very difficult to squeeze the 2 side buttons simultaneously to turn off the phone and then turn it back on in order to reboot the phone every few days - and i was wondering if there are any tricks or special features where i can reboot the phone without squeezing those 2 buttons or use Siri to reboot the phone?
You can shut your phone down via the settings app. Open Settings, tap General, scroll to the bottom and tap Shut Down. Then just slide the slider on the screen to power off. Hope this helps! 🙌

Thank you all for your suggestions - someone has shown me how to "restart/reboot" the iPhone with just 3 touches using the Accessibility/Active Touch function - rebooting the iPhone is now an easy task to do without pushing or squeezing hardware buttons!

Hi Aaron. I simply want to combine two images from my camera photos. I installed the shortcut apps but I have done nothing for hours but click buttons and I am not any closer to my goal. There's no telling what I have added or deleted from my phone. LOL. I have an iphone 7. Yes it is old but it works. I was able to follow your tutorial until we got to the music shortcut and you lost me. Any suggesgtions?
Try using "Select Photos (make sure to tap the arrow and choose 'select multiple'. Next choose "Combine Photos". Lastly choose "Share". That should give you the ground work you're looking for!

Aaron, any idea how to slow down Siri and add pauses between a question and options to choose ? I have a Shortcut for translation and Siri rattles off without pausing and it’s hard to hear. I tried adding a wait command for 1 or 2 secs but it doesn’t make any difference. I’m one of these people who slows down UA-cam videos to .75 or .5% to listen to them. 😅😢

I’m trying to set a bunch of daily alarms for school days. I’m a teacher at a middle school with no bells, so I have to set all my school alarms daily.
You can do this in the clock app on your phone. Just set an alarm for whatever time you want, then tap on the alarm (after you have set it). Next, select ‘Repeat’ and choose ‘Every Monday’, ‘Every Tuesday’, etc. Hope this helps! 🙌

I was wondering if it’s possible when and email comes with a reference number in the subject, can a section from that email be copied and then paste that into a Callander event which also has the email reference number? I’m forever updating calendar events and add details for regular received emails. Hope that makes sense

You could try using the “Set Brightness” operator. I don’t see an option for the auto brightness in Shortcuts.
