Siri then picked this up and I could answer a command with my voice. Nowadays, if my Siri asks whether or not I want to listen to music, and I say YES or NO, it stays in a loop and nothing happens. And I’m pushing my data in ClickUp (tasks) and an app called Cjournal (CRM) to tag along any notes, events.. etc. I’m also pushing the same data to numbers to see if I could ultimately replace the Cjournal app. I’m ultimately trying to run the business as much as possible just from the iPhone 😅 - it’s an adventure !

@@beardfm I have a similar shortcut to notes from photo to classify receipts. after the photo is taken it shows a list of options to choose from like for example Groceries or Insurance. That choice is included in the note for future reference. It allows me to later do a search for all receipts of a given category. The photo of the receipt is also included in the Note.

I need a shortcut that automatically launch "workout" app, e.g. Indoor cycling, on my apple watch when I am at a given location (say sport club adresse) at given days and time. Let it run for 60 minutes and shut it down again. All automatic, no manual intervention. Alternatively, the shortcut could be build based on whenever an app is launched, e.g. intelligent cycling, on my ipad, then the "workout" app on my apple watch is launched with indoor cycling, and stops automatically after 60 minutes or when the intelligent cycling app on my ipad is shut down, which ever occurs first.

@beardfm I want to make a shortcut where i can log craft beers consumed into the Health app, but you can only log beers as “drinks” or as it seems, units of alcohol. Many craft beers are more than 1 drink or unit of alcohol (example: a craft beer may be 1.82 drinks). I have all of the data in terms of alcohol units based on ABV and serving size but what is the best way to create a shortcut where a user enters serving size, THEN ABV and the shortcut references a table or series of if>then statements to log the correct alcohol unit into the health app?

use the scan documents block for that. it will save them as a pdf and you can scan multiple pages at once to go in the same pdf if needed. Saving is automatic. Add the file and open file blocks first so you can choose the folder. Otherwise everything goes in the Scanned Documents folder.

Say in the event you are getting robbed, so someone can't take your phone and put it to your face to unlock? Thanks! And there is a Lock Screen action, but that still lets you unlock with Face ID. You could go all the way to Shut Down, which is another available action and you can put on the Home Screen!

Love these! I had a request: I'd like to set a focus mode and only when I'm in that focus mode, I'd like to make sure that a few selected apps kick me out to the home-screen. I tried to do this by myself but I couldn't figure out how to keep the app redirection to home-screen specifically ONLY on the focus mode, it would just toggle back to home-screen all the time even without the focus mode when I tried to do it.
First off love your content, just started with shortcuts and been binge watching your channel. I have a request if you're able: Drop off kids to school: - Check calendar to see if there's school or not (if no school, disable alarm) - Get driving time from home to school - Know I need to arrive by 8am - Tell me what time I need to leave by (add 5 extra minutes to get kids into the car) - Update an alarm to remind me when it's actually time to leave (or some sort of audio reminder when it's time to actually leave) Example: There is school on my calendar, it takes 20 minutes from home to school, so alarm is updated to 7:35am to leave Then I'll set this as an automation to run every morning at 7am
Great stuff. But The making alarm by reminders shortcut just keeps making the alarm always for 12:00am and I can't figure out how to have it actually do it for the reminder time
@@beardfm thanks for reply. No that didn't solve it, but doing a bit more digging it seems to be a common bug/ problem with setting recurring alarms from reminders anyway, even without shortcuts, so who knows.
Pilot Logbook: IFR = Instrument flight rules, VFR = Visual Flight Rules. VFR is flying on a clear day and not through clouds (along with other requirements). IFR requires additional training and ratings. Not all pilots are IFR rated.

But sometimes that light gets turned on before sunset at a higher brightness above 35%. What I need help with is if the light is on, let say 50% before sunset. Great video! I was desperately trying to make a shortcut menu to fetch all upcoming (and due) reminders and a) add x minutes or another time to their due date. All I managed to do was adding x minutes to the current date. Even with toolbox pro. I also managed to figure out the tricky part to put the due date to another day if the time has already has passed. Maybe you can find a solution to this problem 🤷🏼♂️
For the work photos I would have just made a shortcut named Work Camera with the camera block and a specified folder to save to. That would allow you to take work related photos no matter where you are. Handy if you travel for work.
Question: How can I have an automation or shortcut that turns off all my lights when I set my focus mode to Sleep? Or if I turn off all my lights and it is after some specific time (say 11pm) it sets my focus mode to sleep? I never found a way to get it to work :(
No need to create data jar lists if there’s no direct reference. Just name it within the shortcut designer and data jar will create a list as it runs. Only exception is if you need a list with a specific value which may be misinterpreted by data jar when the shortcut pushes the data over.
I’ve tried soo many times to make ONE shortcut when u click it if a vpn is on turn it off, if the vpn is off turn it on would be really helpful if u made one

The Alarm From Reminder needs an additional filter “is not completed”, otherwise it will find an old completed reminder and set an alarm for it. I found this out in testing.

Instead of hitting the side button 5 times to disable face id, you could simply have the shortcut on your home screen and use it instead? Thanks for all the great shortcuts! 😊
Thanks! And there is a Lock Screen action, but that still lets you unlock with Face ID. You could go all the way to Shut Down, which is another available action and you can put on the Home Screen!
Hi men, thank you for the shortcut, do you know like a way to activate noice cancelation once you arrive at your home and wifi is connected and once is disconnected the AirPod will switch automatically?

Is there a way to remove the notification "running your automation" everything it runs? I can't find shortcut notifications in my settings
Make sure the toggle for automations that say "Show when run" is toggled OFF
I tried before watching to (automate) battery low, and another command now I can't remove them?

One more: every time my automation runs that is triggered by Bluetooth connection, I get a shortcut notification. Is there any way to shut this off??
Turn off 'Notify When Done' in that automation.
Love these! I had a request: I'd like to set a focus mode and only when I'm in that focus mode, I'd like to make sure that a few selected apps kick me out to the home-screen. I tried to do this by myself but I couldn't figure out how to keep the app redirection to home-screen specifically ONLY on the focus mode, it would just toggle back to home-screen all the time even without the focus mode when I tried to do it.

First off love your content, just started with shortcuts and been binge watching your channel. I have a request if you're able:
Drop off kids to school:
- Check calendar to see if there's school or not (if no school, disable alarm)
- Get driving time from home to school
- Know I need to arrive by 8am
- Tell me what time I need to leave by (add 5 extra minutes to get kids into the car)
- Update an alarm to remind me when it's actually time to leave (or some sort of audio reminder when it's time to actually leave)
Example: There is school on my calendar, it takes 20 minutes from home to school, so alarm is updated to 7:35am to leave
Then I'll set this as an automation to run every morning at 7am
Great stuff. But The making alarm by reminders shortcut just keeps making the alarm always for 12:00am and I can't figure out how to have it actually do it for the reminder time

@@beardfm thanks for reply. No that didn't solve it, but doing a bit more digging it seems to be a common bug/ problem with setting recurring alarms from reminders anyway, even without shortcuts, so who knows.
Pilot Logbook: IFR = Instrument flight rules, VFR = Visual Flight Rules. VFR is flying on a clear day and not through clouds (along with other requirements). IFR requires additional training and ratings. Not all pilots are IFR rated.

Shortcuts - search View Album “enter name of album”. I just tried it. That’s definitely something that I thought would be built in to the photos app.

Stephen I love these shortcuts keep them coming. Stephen I am trying to create a shortcut or automation. I have my kitchen lights everyday to come on at sunset to 35% brightness. But sometimes that light gets turned on before sunset at a higher brightness above 35%. What I need help with is if the light is on, let say 50% before sunset. I don't want the lights to adjust there brightness if some manually turned on. (Lutron are my light switches)

I was desperately trying to make a shortcut menu to fetch all upcoming (and due) reminders and a) add x minutes or another time to their due date. All I managed to do was adding x minutes to the current date. Even with toolbox pro.
I also managed to figure out the tricky part to put the due date to another day if the time has already has passed.
Maybe you can find a solution to this problem 🤷🏼♂️
For the work photos I would have just made a shortcut named Work Camera with the camera block and a specified folder to save to. That would allow you to take work related photos no matter where you are. Handy if you travel for work.
Question: How can I have an automation or shortcut that turns off all my lights when I set my focus mode to Sleep? Or if I turn off all my lights and it is after some specific time (say 11pm) it sets my focus mode to sleep? I never found a way to get it to work :(
No need to create data jar lists if there’s no direct reference. Just name it within the shortcut designer and data jar will create a list as it runs. Only exception is if you need a list with a specific value which may be misinterpreted by data jar when the shortcut pushes the data over.
I’ve tried soo many times to make ONE shortcut when u click it if a vpn is on turn it off, if the vpn is off turn it on would be really helpful if u made one

The Alarm From Reminder needs an additional filter “is not completed”, otherwise it will find an old completed reminder and set an alarm for it. I found this out in testing.

@@beardfm for the OCR-to-note shortcut, how do you get the first command, “take photo with front camera” or whatever? I don’t see it as an option. Are you using specialized shortcut add-ons or something? Or did you assign one of the Backtap functions to take a photo?
