@@foresthillwolf7998 yep, graduated with my bachelors and I am taking a gap year working for marine fisheries before pursuing a phD in deep sea ecology (hopefully!)
We keep looking for life on other planets, when there is undiscovered life we are only just finding at the depths of our oceans. This is truly remarkable. All Earth's creatures deserve our love and respect.
I would come back to this video every once in a while, for 10 years now. This video solidified my love of the ocean. If I could live there and never look back I would. Thank you
They have them on display at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it is hands down one of the best displays I have seen!!! They had to have taken inspiration from this segment of The Blue Planet.
Most of the time, the light is used to confuse or distract predators, or lure prey. The comb jellies that show rainbow patterns are actually not producing those lights; it's the light from the submersible being refracted off the cilia.
Is it just me or this 4.34 min video feels like it's taking forever to end? The song and the video matched so perfectly it gave me shivers. It feels like time slowed down and I was watching all these creature in awe..so bizarre..so intriguing..sooo brrr.. *goosebumps*..I find the deep sea much more mysterious than any other places on earth or outer space.
I really agree my science teacher told me to watch it and it feels like it has been a year now I and everthing looks really werid and things I probably should not look at
The music + video is creepy but it feels like i'm lured into it...what's this weird feeling? *shivers* they look beautiful and alluring in a way..it's insane!!
On the second specimen, as it's turning away, it's going into the darkness, practical disappearing into the darkness, even though it's body is glowing, you can't see it; almost like it's being swallowed by the darkness. Amazing how deep, dark, and quite terrifying underwater darkness is.
Very eerie. Think about for how long this abyss has remained unobserved and the creatures that live there. It's as close as we can get to the concept of an "underworld".
@Mandala Your absolutely right! I didn't know that nature could have created this strange, but beautiful creatures... Plus, Katie Jane Garside and her Darkangel fits perfectly, the atmosphere is magical...
A new morning star And it's falling so fast How can I hold you? My lover, take cover, it's time for fire Be sure she's awake When this new day breaks Burning inside me My lover, take cover, it's time for fire I pray for supernova I pray for dark disco I pray for my son of nebulae I pray for my mother find her I pray for dark disco I pray for supernova I pray for my son of nebulae I pray for my mother find her So complete When we sleep in deceit How can I hold you? 0:26 is my favorite part of the video. 0:39 is the jaw dropping scene. 2:14 is the firefly squid. 1:21 helmet jellyfish. 2:12 deep sea spider. 4:37 siphonophores.
We try to think up the most bizarre things possible in alien movies, however, nothing comes close to these creatures, and these are REAL. And they're not even alien too, they share a connection with us.
"Life" is absolutely fascinating, people often think that im "slow" because I'm so intrigued about the simplist things, like how a grain of grass grows, or how different animals interact with with each other, stuff like that... There is an abundance of life here on Earth and I also happen to believe there is an abundace of life in the Multi-verse, of coarse people think I'm "weird" for that too. Oh well, such as life:)
We've also levitated mice with extremely strong magnetic fields as well. There weren't even any external fluids or other modifications -- just a floating mouse.
This was the video that inspired me to go into deep sea marine biology :) I saw it when I was 9 and I am now 19 and pursuing that degree
Lets gooooooo
The video didn't show all of the sea creatures
How did it go? Still pursuing?

@@garlicflowerzzz That's so amazing! I may be a stranger, but I'm proud of you!

Absolutely incredible, especially when paired with Katie Jane Garside.
One of the coolest vids on UA-cam.

You mean reflected
you can refract my cilia.

Such a wonderful pairing of music and image. I've watched this many times over the past year or so. Thanks much for sharing.
This is the best segment of the "Blue Planet" series. The creatures that live in the depths of the ocean are INSANE.
We need more music like this
FKA twigs!
The UA-camr should've used amend by j'p'n as the song cover for this video

1:45 makes me want to cry. Wow.
I usually despise added music to videos like these, but you couldn't have picked a better song. A world entirely beyond words.
This is why ibelieve that there is life out there in space! This is epic but beautiful at the same time.
Estephanie Fajardo yeah and we know more about space than our own ocean
crazy to think only 7-9% of the ocean has been explored

How can I hold you?
Dark angel, dark angel, it's time for fire
Give way to the night
This mind shrouded by light
How will I find you?
Dark angel, dark angel, it's time for fire
I pray for supernova
I pray for dark disco
I pray for my son of nebulae
I pray for my mother find her

This is Katie Jane Garside and the song is Dark Angel I believe. If you like it you can check her other work: Queen Adreena and Daisy Chainsaw.
Life is beautiful and terrifying at the same time.
some of these creatures truly seem to be from a totally different world, not from planet Earth. amazing.
Extremely underated video. Wild life we live in. Dark Disco.
Feels like s Bond intro
creatures that have never seen the sunlight are so unique. i love those creatures. they are just so cool.
Wow they are all so beautiful!
