    I honestly believe that if all humanity had the chance to witness the milky way in person every night, we wouldn't be as humanless as we are today. So insignificant all of our problems. We have lost our way. First time i ever witnessed it at Cloudcroft, New Mexico, it changed my entire perspective. Literally life changing.

    Depression and illness I have had almost all my life and still have. However the world is a beautiful place, beaches, woodlands, rivers, oceans, wildlife - its a paradise. I have started to be grateful instead of angry and depressed. And now seeing this video it brings tears to my eyes but at the same time it brings questions and confusion.What are we and why are we here?
    On a sphere we spin in an empty dark ocean of nothingness,
    Surrounded by spheres, designed and placed by the great architects of the universe.
    What ever happens, all I can say with all my heart - Thank you for everything.

    I used to just picture the sky as if it was 2D, but after seeing this, it helped me see into our galaxy, and get a sense of depth. It felt more than just a black wall of stars. It was like I could see the earth revolving through our universe, and I could just jump out into the night sky and visit the other stars. It was mind blowing.

      Well Bro, I used to think the very same type of things myself. But as I began to study the Milky Way, I found that things are not what they seem to be, and I am able myself, just as you too are, to realize that ideas we grew up with need to be recalculated. I have your proof. Look above your letter here to MINE, at the "VLT HD TIME LAPSE video on youtube. Rewatch it, rethink it this month. then tell me what you've discovered about your own mind, and this universe we live under.For examples: the sun apparently lights the Milky Way up in the mornings if the moon isnt around to do it. That hints that the sun is under the dome-Firmament (AKA the "milky way") lighting it up at sunrise. Also, the sun follows a path which seems to be at a wildly awkward angle to the directions followed by the Milky Way, and if the sun and Milky Way were soo very far away from us, then we would see the sun and said "milky way" travelling together across the sky, rather than at different angles, and different locations in the sky. We know the stars are supposed to be "moving" through space, but not in 24 hour cycles like this. This can only happen underneath a dome, splattered embedded with stars, and a (much smaller than speculated) sun-ball that travels around inside the dome, as told in Psalms 19, and described in other parts of God's Book. So, as difficult as it seemed at first, I began to admit the truth, and embrace a new reality, that the earth is as flat as it was in Columbus's time. But now we know that it has a dome over our lands, , and it's expansive land mass is infinite, and unknown for now. Our own Navy discovered this in 1947, and 8 years later, decided to bury the story, along with the Admiral who told of it's discovery.

      We have and we can, it just doesn't work how you think it would. The ship is powered by dimethyltryptamine and with it you can experience the true nature of the cosmos without your physical body leaving the planet.I know that sounds like some far out hippy shit but it's true, we could never explore the universe with rockets and spaceships, the vastness is unthinkable, we can however experience the universe in all it's wonder through what some call the spirt realm. the connection is real, we've just lost contact with our true nature but when you really think about it, we're all here, on this planet somehow flying through "space" in an expanding universe, is it really that unthinkable that there's more to reality than we are aware of?

    • @bigrick3267
      @bigrick3267 8 років тому

      We can yes, but I've never reached the plains through meditation alone, ayahuasca\dmt can take you there though. If you have the ability I recommend going to Peru to one of their healing centres and having a Shaman help guide you through the experience , it really is life altering.
      One thing though is you must be prepared, before you can go on the outward journey the spirt realm will make you come to grips with your inner world, which can sometimes be unpleasant but is necessary for you to be healed spiritually. Once they have determined you have faced the internal truth and have become aware of the connection we share with all living things, they will guide you through the universal truths and open your eyes for what feels like the first time.
      Like I said, it sounds a little crazy, I know it does, but I also know it's real.
      I highly recommend you watch the documentary "Stepping into the fire" it's right here on UA-cam and will educate you better than I ever could here, trust me, it's worth the time if you're interested at all

    • @bigrick3267
      @bigrick3267 8 років тому

      Also, your name, Oxy gen, is that it reference to the narcotic? the reason I ask is the not only can ayahuasca heal you spiritually, but it can take away addition to narcotics, many long-term heroine users have been cured thanks to the healing properties of the scared plants, it really is amazing, but don't take my word for it, look it up and find the truth for yourself

      You are assuming we are flying through the universe!
      It's ok tho.... this had been pounded into our heads since kids!
      You believe this because this is what they wanted us to believe!
      We can't measure to earth moving! We can only calculate it..... and measuring and calculating isn't the same..... measuring is the experiment in science!
      We have not be taught or even get to consider those experiments!
      The earth can't be moving and at the same time not moving! One or the other!
      Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord!

      +Ralf Nuggs Shooting stars would not show up on more than one frame. Planes would last longer and I highly doubt there will be any planes in that area. Lot of other clues, N S direction of many satellites. Times when you see the satellites. etc. Pretty much no chance it's anything else. Sorry if you don't believe in satellites.

    The laser is used as an artificial star for the adaptive optics (AO) system to use. The atmosphere has thermal currents, moisture, etc. that distorts the light from the sky, we call that 'seeing'. Normally the 'seeing limited' image, the max resolution we can get, is about 1 arcsecond. AO uses a wavefront sensor to measure the distortion of the laser star, and it sends signals to a deformable mirror that corrects for the atmospheric turbulence, allowing resolutions around 0.1 arcseconds.

    its so beautiful. astronomers at work. the Universe unraveling in front of our eyes, always there, moving nonstop.
    we are so lost in our day to day life, caring so much for so little... we forget to look up and wonder.

  • @tallen702
    @tallen702 12 років тому

    Yep! Best thing about them is that the baseline light source the provide allows the adaptive optics to cancel out the atmospheric blur inherent in looking at anything from down here on our little chunk of rock. Suddenly, the blobs we saw not even ten years ago are suddenly super sharp and full of stars.

    As a person who loves to study ancient Andean cultures, watching this helps me understand why they had dark cloud constellations rather than the constellations we're used to. Can you imagine picking the stars of Orion out of that? So the dark patches became their mythic constellations. Amazing stuff.

    Those are the telescope housings, with a large opening which can be closed by shutters or opened to let in light. Note how they sometimes rotate very slowly, as they are recording images, then suddenly, as they switch to a different celestial object.

    Exactly. At 0:38 you can see the suns starts setting. The exposure will be changed to compensate so it's easy to miss but as the sun goes down more light is captured by longer exposure time and/or wider apertures/higher ISOs.
    Under the light of the moon, an exposure long enough will actually look like daylight (since the moon reflects sunlight). Last full moon I took some such shots with exposure times of around 13 seconds.
