    Guys.... Please don't EVER be discouraged when you saw this video and not being able to execute as good as he does. He showed us how he executed everything so perfectly and NOT THE THOUSAND HOURS of him struggling all the way to get there. I just wanna remind you guys to not be disappointed when you think your work is not great, yes it might not be great but there is always space for improvement and IT NEEDS TIME. Proper understanding of your mistakes and improve it time by time and one day you might be as good as he is . :)

      @@arantzap Sculpting means you're adding mesh as you work on the character (as long as you're using Dyntopo), and it's more malleable and easier to manipulate, but you'll have to retopologize later.
      Just poly modeling means you're working directly on the vertices, and he's doing that using proportional editing, which is moves several of them depending on the one you're working on. To do so with that amount of precision is quite impressive, and he shouldn't need to retopo later either.

    Thanks for sharing! I've been practicing humans for a little over a year, challenging myself to do a box/vertex model only method, and a method that combines sculpting quite like this at least once per week. These kinds of videos help quite a bit with figuring out creative solutions to tackling anatomy! Thank you for sharing your workflow.

      How would someone like me a beginner tackle anatomy?

    • @sammosapian
      @sammosapian 3 роки тому +1

      @@donovanmartin7946 learn art fundamentals. Learning about anatomy, lines, value, shapes, or how value can be applied to your sculpting method. I practice daily by drawing, digital painting, digital sculpting and modelling. There’s lots you can learn by studying the anatomy in different mediums, and the constant practice and repetition is what it takes.
      I aim for anatomically correct sculpts and work with a lot of reference. I like to box model my anatomy to account for joints and underlying structures by “layering in”. I often start with a head so I can proportion my character according to the head length and work from there. I build the basic masses of the torso from a block, working from the lines of the shoulder girdle, and downward through the shapes of the ribs and spine. Arms and legs just need to follow the correct shapes of bones in proportion to the head. After I’m done bone structure I usually remesh my model and create the muscular structures over bones. I combine them remesh and repeat until I’ve created an accurate human form. If there’s any detail I want to save between remeshes, I just make sure I bake any data I’d like to keep. This method isn’t efficient, but it’s really good practice because it involves having a workflow dependent on memorization and the recreation of human anatomy. You can do this with sculpting as well, but i find it important to work with structure as practice.
      The most difficult part to learn is the texturing process. Creating body and face unwraps for photorealism can be daunting if you can’t afford software.
      Cartoon characters are really great practice as well if you know how to make sense of line weight and the different things line weight can represent. Hannah Barbara’s classic characters were a really cool thing to work through in 3D. They helped me learn quite a bit about how to infer the anatomy from two dimensional stylizations.

      Seeking or waiting for inspiration is a bad option. It is necessary to set a goal to go to it despite the difficulties - this is right. All this motivation nonsense is just pop psychology. Yes, you need to believe in yourself, but you don’t need to think that it won’t be difficult if you motivated and inspired. I remember there was a time when I studied electronics. Yes, it was difficult, very difficult and frustrating at times. I asked a classmate who was interested in the same thing how he does something. He told me this: "Sometimes I read and don't understand anything, then I reread it again and again until I understand how it works"

    I am pretty sure that most of people who don’t know how such a thing is done think that it’s easy like the artist is just holding his pen and everything he is thinking about is done in the same moment . You can’t realize how many time did the artist switch tools and stuff to make alittle finger , personally I’ve downloaded sketch book which must be one of the easiest to work with and tried digital art it’s really hard and what I was making was pretty simple and consisted of 2 to 3 layers only , to make a stable image of something professionally may take from u weeks and the layer number may exceeds 100 well it must exceeds that cause the details, colors shadow brightness and dimensions etc are all have been controlled by layers , choosing the right brush itself will take your time so let’s just rise our hats from our dumb heads and start clapping for those patient and artistic people cause it’s just mind blowing how much work they do to make a master.
