For the people who are allergic to eggs, you can use flax seed, soak them in warm water to activate them, they end up gelatinous like an egg, and binds just like an egg, I do this for egg free recipes.
As a filipino I know the lumpia wrappers available in local groceries and markets are made from wheat flour coz it's easy to find and cheaper. So I thought it would be difficult to to make but looks easy . Thank you
Kim, you are the best! You just don't know how many people are very happy to eat Lumpia again. I hope and pray I will have no problems with making these but I have to keep trying because I want my Lumpia. I need to find your recipe quickly. Thank you so much 😛🙏❤️ I have a question: is the whey protein isolate supposed to be unflavored? Please advise I'm desperate to make these Olympia wrappers. Thank you!
Oh my goodness! I have never seen these before, but now I need to make them! Do you think that these wrappers would work for those Asian dessert rolls that have the cream cheese inside and dip in the red sweet sauce? I miss those so much. That was my favorite thing about the Chinese restaurants before I realized my wheat allergy. Could this be used for potstickers as well maybe?
These were amazing, used ground pork shoulder, onion, salt, pepper, and a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. Duck sauce worked with it. Let them cool before eating, they are very drippy if you don't.
Yes, it is! There are written instructions right in the recipe itself for freezing. This is the excerpt from my blog post: "Can gluten free lumpia wrappers be frozen? Yes! Once made and cooled completely, wrap stack of wrappers in plastic wrap and place in a ziptop bag. Freeze for 2-3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator." And this one: "Can I freeze assembled, raw lumpia and fry later? Raw lumpia can be frozen for 2-3 months in layers in a large ziptop bag."
Mine never stick together. They are just like the lumpia wrappers you buy in the freezer section at the store--you have to pull them apart. If yours stick, I would suggest maybe either spraying nonstick spray in between the layers or putting parchment or waxed paper in between.
My wife and daughter both have severe wheat allergies, not celiac, and we love your recipes. I also wanted to let you know, la choy brand soy sauce is gluten-free and kikkoman has a gf soy sauce as well, but in our opinion is isn't as good as la choy
Thank you so much!!! I haven't been able to find la choy in my area, but I do often find kikkoman. I don't understand why restaurants (like sushi places) can't just switch to using all gf soy sauce or tamari because it all tastes pretty much the same to me 😊
Would an actual fryer work? How long would you do them in my counter top fryer? I've been looking for these forever! Do you do Egg rolls? Do you do Empennadas??
It should be the same amount of time for a tabletop fryer. I don't yet have recipes for egg rolls or empanadas, but they are on my long list of things to try!

Hi Kim - I just want to make sure about the ingredients for this wonderful lumpia wrapper: it consists of potato starch, white rice flour, tapioca starch, whey protein, egg white and water. Thank you so much for confirming.
I'm new to gluten free cooking channels, after suffering for 6 years. Like all of us, I've had to eliminate many things from my diet.. I can't even cook glutenous food nor can any family members, if I'm at home. Can't do gluten free, either.. must be certified. I'm just wondering, do you have a homemade noodle recipe? Thanks for sharing your recipes.

When you say noodles, are you talking about pasta? I do have a recipe for homemade gf pasta that is wonderful and here's the link to the video for that: ua-cam.com/video/w0kgVfXloas/v-deo.html 😍
Could you brush each piece with melted butter so it comes out a bit more like flaky pastry? I’ve never had or even heard of Lumpia, but I guess the closest would be here in the U.K., sausage rolls which are sausage meat wrapped in pastry.
Lumpia is more like an egg roll, so I wouldn't recommend it for what you call sausage rolls. My recommendation would be to use my puff pastry. There is a video for it here on youtube, but I'm currently updating the recipe for an even easier version so if you want to wait a week or two, it should be up by then.

Hello from Denmark. I’m so happy to have found your channel. I have a question is it possible to frieze the lumpia? 😊
