FEEDING ALL MY MONSTER FISH AND CROCODILE! ua-cam.com/video/j_Id88ItfxI/v-deo.html
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Quinton Grey Yup, I've been using flixzone for since november myself =)
Matt, dude, if something happens in your tank it's YOUR fault as Joey says. Either it's you using faulty equipment, making poor stocking choices, not adding enough decor to establish territories ect, Blaming the fish or "the world" for your mistakes is pretty illogical
I agree if the heaters have temp control why not run 2 if you have money to buy expensive fish you can aforrd to run 2 heaters surely
Put some bogwood/hiding places to defuse aggression
Yeah , seems like a no brainer to me ...
It’ll more cause more since it’ll take up swim space, plus big fish with any type of decoration is gonna end bad they can hurt themselves on it if they get startled. The better option would be to more the Oscar or the giant Gourami
@@ipman_3741 yup that's why I keep decorations to a minimum 👌🏻
its nice to see what bad outcomes could happen there are a lot of fish youtubers that act like they do everything perfect and nothing wrong ever happens i don't care how long you have been keeping fish for there is always something that could happen and something to learn and it is nice to see fish that common fish keepers don't keep Matt thanks for showing us your journey with keeping fish keep up the awesome content Matt
Man with monster arms keeping monster fish.
Good video! Keep them coming.
These things happen, as long as you give it your all. Great to see the transparency
Hi Matt.
I'm sorry about what has happened to your Fish.
Please keep your head up bro.
Thankfully you saved the rest of the Fish on time.
Much love and support to you Sir.
billy bad-ass!! LOL. Sorry mate, I know your angry but that was funny. Tough week in the fish room. Hope everything calms down and you have no more losses
Hey Matt, thanks for sharing. Everyone comes into some back luck sometimes. It's great you have backups and my first thought is it could have been much much worse in the pond. Keep the positive mindset and when you get through this you will be that much stronger. I have lost my entire livestock except for 2 fish with marine velvet.. not a fun thing for anyone but I've been there. Keep moving forward. 💪👊
The joys of fish keeping. I'm having a nightmare with fish fighting myself while i building a 1000g ply . Keep up the good work matt
Sorry to hear about your ruff week, Hang in there. I am sure you know most of the time the hobby is mostly rewarding than the few ruff days we encounter. Your still doing a great Job with your fish! Thank you for the video and all of your knowledge!
Predator fish should not be a schooled. There's a reason they're called predator fish.
Thank you for sharing, people need to know the good and the bad of keeping monster fish.
Sorry for the rough week, gotta love the ups and downs of the hobby. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing for awhile! Good luck 🍀
Thanks Kerri, like a roller coaster!
Great vid bro always love watching the vids, postive vibes everyone
Luck will turn Keep up the good work man :D
Watch that redtail, he's going to know the other fish is injured and he smells it, he'll go after the oscar. Poor thing :(
Yeah the oscars probably ginna get attacked more from the redtail
Could i get some insight into how you connected your stc-1000? I got one and am clueless with wiring anything
Gosh Matt just not a good week for you Oscar so sweet! Good luck and all the best!
I see your channel is growing my friend! 👌
Love your channel , feel you on the aggression, I've been keeping midas and devils for years but now said goodbye to my big guys and have small Americans in my 7ft with lots of dithers , nice to have chilled out tank , loving ya from the uk
You could throw a divider in the piranha tank for now and just raise them separately until you can invest in a larger school and reintroduce them at the same time later down the rode.
He knows he's in trouble 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for showing the good with the bad Matt! Your the best!
Matt, you should consider picking up a WebCam, they're not expensive and I've found this to be a big help with my tanks when "mysterious events" seem to occur. Sorry about your Oscar, they're really like having a Water Puppy Dog. I have two and just lost my Tiger oscar a few months ago. Cheers! Keep us up to date on your Oscar!
Matt I feel you about the heaters. I used the same identical heaters 1000w and went through 3 in a year. Yes their junk, have since then found a really good quality heater that I run in all my tanks. It comes with a controller, temp probe and the whole 9 yards.
So sorry Matt , I'm sure you'll soon have the oscar back to great condition. So sad with the piranhas , the buggers ! Hope next week is better for you 💜💜💜
Dang man. That's a string of bad luck bud. It's good that you prepared a back up plan.
Wow that was honest! Sorry when it rains it pours. testing our strength Great video! Thank you for being honest and real!
I owned many red bellies , 3-4 need about a 75 gallon not sure what you got them in, some people say 55 g but from my experience 75+ will defuse those problems , don’t give up on them and that Oscar is huge great video ❗️
Definitely add some hiding places for the piranhas.
All piranha owners have ran into the same problem. It’s expensive
Hey Matt sorry to hear about what happened to your fish
It is very motivating for me to watch your videos I have recently purchased two aquariums and started filming my animals feeding, on top of the catch and cook videos I do on my channel. Keep it up brother you’re motivating more than you think
What are your plans for the arapaima? It will outgrow everything you have possibly yet this year
15:35 You are always awesome. Sometimes shit just hits the fan. You learn and do new great things.
Hang in there!
Ouch! Poor oscar. Sending good thoughts for him. I had no idea a gourami could do that!
I like that idea lmao
Is the pond indoors? If so how did the temp get down to 66 degrees?
Obviously easy to say now, but that's why an Ink Bird or BRS heater controller run as a backup is so important. It monitors temp & alarms when it gets too cold/warm & is a backup to cut power if heater fails on to prevent a fish stew.
Sorry for the rough week.
Consider getting a camera in the pond so u can observe their reactions
I had one but I cracked the screen, going to get another one here soon 💯
Why dont you heat the room instead of individual tanks
You need a big tank for those piranhas and feed more to keep them from attacking each other
Tropical fish are way more resistant to temperature than you might expect, being in the mid 60s for a week isn’t going to kill your fish but it certainly isn’t good for them. An 800 watt heater is plenty for them for now but make sure you get a backup in case this one breaks.
I know guys keeping american cichlids in the low 70s high 60s right now with good success which may be a testament to this.
Nice look like u use the same heater lol
Bout to see about sending you a tripod lol
I know those weeks :/ everyone in the animal hobby has them. Keep on keeping on :)
Yeah predators can suck to keep, my worst week happened a few months ago in 3 different tanks, 1 one of my Southern Saratogas broke through a glass lid and jumped out while I was at work, 2 the male from my breeding pair of oscars forced his way out of a plastic lid on the tank and 3 I found one of my salmontail catfish chewing on one of my peacock bass, he did spit him out and he survived though
Hey Matt. I use inkbird thermostats with the same heaters as you. I haven’t had an issue yet.
"Had a heater malfunction that killed all the fish in the pond" Lmao, I'm sorry man that sucks tho.
I don't keep fish at the moment but my worst day of pet keeping was friday when I was out. My corn snake I've had for many years got out somehow and my cat found him and ended up mortally wounding him. I'm pretty destroyed but I've got to move forward. My worst time of fish keeping was when I was given a crayfish and it ate one of my guppies.
That red tail is picking at him
2:20 keep you backup in the pond with a lower setting.
Great idea!
genius!!!
Better yet, heat the room, not the tanks.
What brand was the broken heater? Also what 800-1000 watt heater would you recommend for a 180 gallon?
As long as the wound doesnt get infected the oscar should be fine and heal up.
Fish are pretty tough when it comes to stuff like that.
BILLY BADASS 😂😂😂
Feel your pain, I have a filter malfunction about a month ago and lost all my shrimps and half of the fish.
Keep your head up matt shit happens man piranha are know for their behavior it sucks loosing fish but just remember it is part of the hobby bro much love sent your way. Made me laugh when u said through billy bad ass in the monster tank and let him see how tough he is classic ! Thanks too funny he would get chrunched
Feel your pain Matt. Ive been out of fish keeping for about 8 or 10 years. This past August got back into it and lets say I had a lot of relearning to do. Yes lost some fish along the way. Just when i think I am on top of things then find things are not going as plan. But thanks to my friends on you tube I'm getting back on track. Oh by the way I think Josh drinks tank water so he can be the master fish keeper. What do you think......LOL
Sorry to see these things happening to ya. I hope everything turns out well.
Through some fake plants for cichlids too hide when stressed, and insulation foaming around pond will hold that heat longer n save energy BRO 💘 ya Matt
You should feed that half eaten piranha to the monsters
always 2 heaters
shit happens at the worst possible time with fish keeping it happens to everyone i have had fish die and just wanted to shut down my tanks because of how sad and confused about what happened but you just have to pick up your head and keep on doing what you love to do
Thats why you schould always have 2 heaters in a big tank 😬
Are you going to separate Billy Badass and the other piranha, one on each side of that tank?
I have them separated until I get more to add to the shoal and upgrade the aquarium they're in
completely understand, I had 4 red bellies, they were all eating really well, and now im down to only 2 cause they attacked the other ones
Im sorry for your miss fortunes... keep your head up
Many , many moons ago , I bought my first fresh water fish , a convict . About 2 and one half inches . In a 40 gallon tank . A month or two later I fell in love with a baby Oscar . He was about the same size as the convict . A couple of months later I noticed that my Oscars' fins were all frayed up with pieces missing . I brought him back to the shop I bought him at and the owner kind of chewed me out in front of everyone there . " Don't you know a convict is a very territorial and aggressive fish and you have to be very careful about what else you put in the tank with it ? " I very calmly and quietly said , no . He should have told me about it when I bought it . Also , and yea I'm dating myself , we didn't have internet back then . Yes I'm that old . So I didn't have a lot of knowledge about the hobby and so I bought a couple of books on the subject and the rest is history. I may as well tell you what did my Oscar in was he jumped out of his tank which was covered while I was at work and passed away poor bugger . I also was having a problem with him freaking out and slamming back and forth out of no where at night . He would wreck everything in the tank and cut and scrape himself up from time to time. I learned that they were known as tank busters and this was a common problem with Oscars . I never found out why . If anyone knows why , can you please tell me ? Thanks Sorry about your piranha
One of my discus slams all the walls at night and freaks out :-(
@@rskid365 Do you know why they do it though? I might like to get another Oscar , but not if I can't fix the problem. We thought it could be reflection from the t.v. , bad dream , etc . But never did find out why .
Still actively trying to figure it out also. Let me know if you find anything also
Ive been using finnex titanium with inkbird controller, 3 years in and no problems yet
You need a bigger heater because the same thing happened to me I had a 1000 watt for my 375 gal and went to check and ice cold called the manufacturer and said it’s from constantly running so I got a bigger 1500 watt heater and works perfectly and it doesn’t run all the time like my other 1 and my electric even went down a little since I switched heaters
Ah yes, before I forget to make this suggestion.
What do you think about putting a Reef Cam or a Go Pro in the Pond?
That could assist you on monitoring the other Fish.
My bad week (month really) was ridiculous and made me throw in the towel. Not with fish, but I was keeping axolotls. I had one that I raised from an egg. He stopped eating and started losing a bunch of weight. His water went foggy. I pulled him from the tank and tubbed him, still wouldn't eat. Got to the point that he hadnt eaten for 4 weeks. I fridged him, it did nothing. Tried putting him back in the tank when it was all cleared up, he still refused to eat.
I ended up sending him to the woman I got his egg from since she had much more experience than I did. We didn't know his sex at the time and she threw him in with the girls. Well, he ended up impregnating one. The breeder brought me the eggs, I raised them. They lived to be 4 weeks old before all of them died all in one shot one afternoon.
I gave up at that point. The first baby I raised is now living with a friend of mine and is happy as can be.
I still don't know what happen to my babies.
I've had a crap week too with some of my tanks I always have fantastic water quality but this week I had a ammonia spike in my gold fish tank and lost 3 of my scale babies and in my tropical 500ltr tank I had a pH spike from nowhere I have done nothing at all different in my tanks but in all I lost just under 20 fish this week so I'm gutted! But yet the next day all my water peramitors were back to normal 🤷♀️😭🍀 Xx
pH can change depending on air ventilation through your home. More air ventilation can lead to more basic water and lower ventillation can lead to increased acidity. That is, considering nothing else has changed during the pH swing.
That`s right, it is the downfall of keeping monsters in your pond, my alligator gar just killed my iridescent catfish which is bigger than the gar`s mouth. He can`t swallow him so he just nipped all the poor catfish`s fins
how much were these piranha?? it sucks uve had a rough week but these things happen. - i subbed, i like your fish. id like a pond like that. i always though piranha werent to expensive, how much was this species?
The Caribe piranhas were $85 a peice, I had 5 to start with plus $125 to ship overnight. I plan on making a full video of the pond build and cost here soon.
@@mattsmonsterfish1615 thats a lot more than i was expecting, it's always painful losing fish and you dont like to think or mention the monetary value but it adds up. i look forward to the video of the pond build, best of luck to you.
I feel your pain we lost 2 fish and are probably gonna lose our massive flowerhorn any day now all within the week
I dont know much about fish so I do have a question. Is the damage to that fish permanent? or will his fins go back to how they were?
Everything should grow back to normal
Matt’s Monster Fish that’s good to know!
I wonder wut would happen to billy bad ass in the pond 🤔
poor guy ... #teamtracy
Tripod 🤠
Sorry you had such bad week Matt.
Dude if u don’t mind my asking I want to set up a pond like yours how much did it run you to get everything going ??
I haven't really calculated everything but I'd guess around $6-700 with everything.
Matt’s Monster Fish cool thanks!!! Good luck with your fish I have monster fish too and man !!!!! Just picked up a black devil so I’m trying to house him in the right monster tank
I love your Chanel and how you take care of your fish but having piranha like those in such a small tank so close together with no hiding space is gonna cause aggression and eventually death like you’ve experienced..
piranha becoming victim? unbelievable
Your doing a great job..shit happens... maybe a go pro permanently for pond ? And we all understand about the piranhas...they are an animal of their own lol....keep on doing what your doing...thanks for being honest...
I got a wild story so I had 2 12inch+ Oscar's a Raphael catfish a black bull head a placo and an iridescent catfish in one of my tanks and I had a 20 inch snapping turtle named bubba sparks in the tank next to them and she got into the tank and killed all of my fish i had spent years trying to grow them all and she killed everyone of them and only ate one of them it was devastating
I had heater stick in the on position and cook my fish. Returned home from vacation and it wasn’t pretty....
Man this sucks 😭
RIP fish.
Sorry about that MMF
Those fishes need to be fed alot and need lot of hiding places . Feed them lot of live food in regular intervals .
Not sure why I am watching this, but sorry about your fish 😞❤️
Hey Matt wants going on you haven’t put any new videos out
U should reach out to bearski method he has great success with his piranha he has 3 tanks and they all seem to get on ok. He even has a pack of 17ish juvenile piranha.
Hannah King agreed, if you want to continue keeping piranhas or are interested in buying more, definitely get in contact with that Bearski dude
Get some Exodon tetra
You should really look into putting 2 in all the tanks that you sont normally check the temp of on a regular basis, that way god forbid one heater blows out the other will take over when the temp drops below where you set it.
Yeah that's going to be my next plan for all tanks
Keeping anything aggressive is very hard - fish , dog, cats, even horses I hope you are having a better time!
Worst week was when I came home to find my 40 Gallon reef tank front glass cracked while I was at work, I lost $4200 in livestock plus I had to pay $1500 in drywall and carpet repairs so I feel your pain
I feel your pain big guy, last year I had a heater blow on my community Lnumber pleco tank killing everything
Sorry for your loss bro 😥
@@mattsmonsterfish1615 I ended up turning the tank into my oscar tank
3 pygocentrus dans à peine 100 litres c'est de la maltraitance !!
