Can I descale my machine if it does not prompt me to do so? I'd like to descale but don't know how to do this without the prompt. I have an F9 Jura. When I press on maintenance it askes me to clean the machine. If I go to the program button, it runs through the settings. The Milk frother nozzle appears to be blocked so I thought I should attempt to descale before I take it in for repairs. Any advice?
Have you figured it out, Valerie? I've got Jura Ena 9 micro and it has really bad smell and obviously needs to be decalcified. However I'm in the same boat and can't find how to start the de-scale.
@@orinokoflow6280 press the centre key on the rotary.. scroll to filter if you have one installed..select filter then scroll to NO and select...scroll to rinse/mainenance ..select with centre key..scroll to descale.. select with key ..then the descale cycle will start..remember to reactivate the filter if you had one in and want to use it again

It is very unlikely that any permanent damage was caused. Simply descale soon after the message appears in future and you should be enjoying delicious coffee for a long time still!
Do the juras automatically tell you when to descale and clean or are we able to start a manual cleaning? I press the button on my Jura micro 1 and it won’t let me
How often do I need to decalcify if I don't use a filter? I currently use a filter, but I'm thinking just to switch to descaling tablets, as I find that more convenient. Monthly? Every two months? Thanks!
yay, my instruction booklet didn't explain that you had to turn the filter option off. Finally I know how to descale my machine. One thing though is the strange nosie the machine makes while its descaling. I find it unnerving!

Are you not supposed to rinse water tank after the descaling and before putting the filter back in??

What if I did not remove the filter during the descaling process? Should I clean it again without the filter or change the filter?

My Z5 has dual heaters, one just for steam. Does the descale function run the solvent through the steam heater also?
