- Exercise Diamond Storm 22 took to warm Northern Territory skies on 30 May 2022, and we captured some of the airside action at RAAF Base Darwin.
The exercise is the culmination of the six-month-long Air Warfare Instructor Course, with students facing down the most challenging missions of their career. When they graduate, they’ll form part of an intelligent and skilled workforce to deliver air power for the joint force. The exercise continues until 24 June 2022.

Flew out of Darwin on the 9th of June. Had five hours waiting for my flight and was entertained by the fly over, take offs and landings.
About bloody time 🤩. Loving the windows rattling in the morning. Great too have an air exercise back in Darwin. It’s going to be an awesome couple of months. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
After turning the volume up for the peaceful taxi shot, my ears no longer exist as of 2:52

What an absolute thrill of a lifetime watching Diamond Storm.
Thank you for showing me your fantastic aircraft in such a clear video. Watched, jealously from war torn Ukraine.
Far away from the fighting then?
@@captain61games49 Well, matter of opinion, I suppose as nowhere here is far away from the fighting but if you mean at the front line, no I am not; as I am 73 years old this month.

Congratulations, and a job well to the Royal Australian Air Force! It is _mundane_ exercises like this that help turn a collection of equipment and personnel into a well honed fighting force. It takes an unbelievable amount of time, effort, money, skill, and professionalism to allow an Air Force to perform air missions.
This simple fact is the reason the Russian Air Force still has not been able to achieve air dominance against a vastly weaker opponent.
Yeah I lived in Darwin years ago when the F-111s were there. Always exciting to see and hear the jets going over....
If you want some good shots of jest go to the airforce base in East sale that's where the pc21 acrobatics group mostly are (for got the name)

Yes that's the ones I'll be hopefully watching them practice at the airfield will I'm in Melbourne soon
I wish we had an air force. The RAAF is the closes we have, but it's not ours
Wow,such a sound!!!!
Fabulous. Thank you.
Nice work Air Force
Nice i love it mate 👍🏻🌹🇦🇺🌹
This will be me 🤩
We should start including the Qantas fleet in these
I think the RAAF needs some new AV people. Maybe look to the enthusiasts pages instead as they tend to have quite good equipment and know how to use it.
Talk to me goose.
haha
Why did you cancel the loyal wingman project.
They havent... they have ordered 13 of them and have invested an extra $317 million in to the programme
...and they have changed the name as well...
...to Ghost Bats
@@lmj06 The announcement was made by the Defence Minister during the caretaker period before the election, so it is hard to tell if that was an election promise, or just violation of our democratic norms.
Spy guys
The CCP listening post based at the port of Darwin would have been tracking all of this no doubt...
and we can thank Sco-Mo for that!
@@alexlanning712 It won't be easy under Albaneasy
@@flabby2142 I dont doubt it, mistakes will be made, as does every governing party, its not as though the conservatives wrapped us up, in cotton wool
Not really how it works, but anyway.
You should see the 'Embassy' they have built in Vanuatu- totally over the top with lots of gadgetry all over. They must watch a lot of telly.
