    Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

    This is literally the same spec I have xD Red on Red, premium package.
    I'm 6'4" and I can drive this no problem. Drive 2 hours total 5 days a week, has been fine so far. Just in case any of my fellow tall peeps are reading/watching. For the weight and size of the car the power is fine. It's nothing to take to the track but as a daily driver this thing is great. The quality of the interior is incredible for the price point honestly, soft touch materials everywhere even in the back seats/doors.
    I've noticed the adaptive cruise sometimes does a weird revving thing with the engine where it's like dropping/changing gears when it doesn't need to. Seems to be random, not sure if this is something that happens to adaptive cruise systems or it's just Mazda's. It's minor though, just makes it sound like you're flooring it for a second or two when you're really not haha.
    It's definitely distinct looking, the red paint looks fantastic in sun. It turns some heads, though I know some don't care for the rear. I would advise anyone on the fence to just take a look in person before writing it off. I was ready to do the same but in person the rear doesn't look as odd, and I think it really suits the design of the rest of the car well.

      Its not "just" a stop notification, it reads all the traffic signs so notifies you of stop signs, one way rounds, no access, and then the road speed limits. This info is show on both the dash and the hud. It isn't 100% perfect though as sometimes it reads side road signs and doesn't update until it sees a new one.

    In the UK we have 5 models of the hatchback, each with 4 different engines (petrol or diesel and manual or automatic). Most drivers in the UK would buy the manual version (only those that can't drive or are old choose automatic). Anyways our prices start at about 22K for a manual petrol SE-L model and then around 30K for the top end Sport GT model. We don't hae 2.5 Litre version here ours is only 2 Litre. They also isn't a sedan (we dont call them sedans) but afaik that is coming. Each model has the same engine and you are just paying for features in each model. Like for example the SE-L doesn't have any cameras, the Sport Lux has a rear cameras and the Sport GT Tech has full 360 cameras. Same with other features like heated steering wheels and seats you dont get that on the cheaper model.

    How would you compare this to the Toyota Corolla Hatchback??

    • @jeffruebens8355
      @jeffruebens8355 5 років тому

      The newest Corollas have a CVT transmission that might hurt reliability, however their slow engines have a long history of reliability. Mazda's reputation was hurt by its older rotary engines, older engine timing chain problems, and older automatic transmission problems. Study the April issue of Consumer Reports magazine at a library, and test drive both, ideally by renting them and driving them all day.

      The Toyota does 0 to 60 in 7.5 with a manual and 8.5 with their CVT. It actually has auto rev matching with the manual as well. This is actually very close to the Mazda 3. That’s from MotorTrend.
      Cargo and rear seat room however is significantly less in the Corolla. 29.9 vs 35.1. Rear leg room. That’s a big difference.
      Toyota will be more reliable and a bit more efficient. They use dual injection so you don’t end up with the carbon build up on the intake valves that is so common in direct injection engines.
