Well, nobody *needs* to know about these bikes, but if you're blessed with a little curiosity and a broad field of interest, its cool to know.
By the way, at all times "the youth" by and large did not share the elders interests. But at all times there were exception - this guy is proof of that. 🤷🏽‍♂️

You should go visit the old motorcycle museum in Marquette Kansas. You will love it 🤗

  • @blipco5

That place is worth a trip to Kansas alone. What I like about the old bikes is their suspension systems, brakes and intake valving.
Those machines are beautiful and the stories make them better. 👍

IIRC, Jerry's dad, Herb, built that in the shop they had at their amusement park, Joyland, in Wichita. I once saw Herb ride the 'six' while visiting a popular dealer in
west Wichita when I was a teenager. They also were strong into steam traction engines in the day, long before they became a popular item in recent threshing shows.

Twisted Oz is one of the best Motorcycle Museum's I've ever been to, and I've been to a bunch of them... The people there are very knowledegable and friendly, they'll take their time in showing and explaining what they have. You won't be disappointed.

I love that he made a museum of his collection!! There was a guy who had lived out by where I used to live who collected old cars, but instead of sharing them with people who would pay to see them, he just left them in a Quonset to rot and rust. As far as I know, they're still there.

Hi, Chris, Thanks for the tour of the Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum, I saw more ancient cycles there than any other museum I've been in. The high point for me was the 1914 Harley Davison because my father had one of them. I think he told me he had paid $300 for it used in 1915. It had a two speed transmission, and his friend whom he bought it from decided he had to have the latest thing, a 1915 Harley Davison with a three speed transmission. Can't wait for your next video, God Bless and stay safe.

The Flying Merkle was the most innovative and best motorycle of its time, ahead of Harley and Indian. But its high-end bikes did not get government contracts in WWI.
There is another big motorcycle museum in North Carolina, Wheels Through Time.
