Just saw this - nice video! I’ve done a ton of research, checked out a bunch of units at dealerships, have camped with a friend in their rig, but have never taken one camping on my own. Big learning curve ahead! Most Class C’s either come with hydraulic leveling or offer it as an option these days. Even cheaper ones. It’s also easily added aftermarket. Without that, if you don’t find that elusive level spot it’s kind of like leveling a trailer, you need to use chocks. Secondly, yep, that corner “queen” bed is awkward. I think maybe 20something newlyweds might do ok?There are many 25’ rigs that have island queen beds. The best quality Class C 25’ unit I’ve found manages to have a king sized Murphy bed! It’s called the Unity made by Leisure Travel Vans. Fabulous RV. Unfortunately the demand is so high that a year wait or more is the order of the day. Also, most every manufacturer of 25’ units make a twin bed version. The plus side there is longer mattresses and much more outside cargo space. The down side is that it permanently occupies half of your coach space so your living area feels much smaller. Last, going back to the Murphy, it’s easy to put it up and down, your bedding just disappears into the wall (in
Bought a new 31’ Winnebago C CLASS in 2000, lived in it w/my 2 Goldens for 2 yrs. LOVED it, but will get a used 24’ C class for my next RV living adventure in April 2025. I love the comfort they provide! ❤
Our pleasure! We are not teachers but very comfortable with public speaking. We love trailers because you can park them, and then off road or explore with your vehicle in places where your RV could not go. Consider that?
Had a 21ft Itasca rear kitchen for 10 yrs, you are spot on w/this video. I am 6ft1 wife 5ft 9, little foot rm in foot well while underway. Had lots of fun camping and visiting g kids in co. From wa.st.
Regarding the A/C leaking TLDR get dehumidifier &/or dehumidifier bag's Please Note don't require power to work. All over your RV rig and put little more bathroom as well and one inside the refrigerator this will help A/C works more efficiently
Good video however, there are different configurations of Class C's. There are many with an actual bedroom no need to break it down & put it up again everyday. Although you will likely have to be good with it being longer than 24ft. A 27ft to 32ft have very comfortable configurations with designated bedroom & as well it also has a shower that is separated from the toilet area. Jayco Greyhawk is a great layout if you want to see what that looks like.
We’re trying to decide on a Class C or a bigger travel trailer, bigger being 21’. The trailers considered are a Bigfoot or Escape, both Fibreglass and built in British Columbia. Almost guaranteed not to leak. Or buy a Class C, maybe an Integra, I see they have a Fibreglass roof.
Great video. The comment about the leg room for the driver was very helpful. I am 6'2' and a little larger than you. We owned a Travato. The Dodge van configuration was a miserable driving experience for me. I tolerated it because my wife loved that Class B. We had many problems and got rid of it. Problem solved. We are now towing a Winnebago Micro Mini with and F150 hybrid and it is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned. All of your observations ring true.
Interesting comment on Florida. Yes. Florida has 3 seasons. Fall, Winter, Spring might amount to two seasons. Then there is HELL. Summer is hell. It can last from May thru October, and that definition is changing as the climate is. Getting hotter every year. Sebring winters used to get to freezing sometimes; now they mostly get to the 40s.
Great idea on renting. Oh great you discussed smoking while cooking. Thank you because my husband cannot stand smoke. Can I ask you lady to lady, do you turn off the water to soap up your hair? Because I have thick hair. I wash my hair 2-3 days.
A lot of good points. Excellent information for others looking to use an RV. I wouldn't let the lack of levelers dissuade people, however. Everyone should have a stack of leveler blocks with them while traveling. Use one, two, or three levels under your tires to even out lumpy campsites. Often, we find just looking for dips, holes, tree roots, etc. to avoid at the site evens us out and we don't need any blocks. Happy travels.
With your A/C issues, have you thought about trying out a Portable A/C Unit that you can just stick in a corner, and have a way to vent it to the outside ? They make the portable units today that are quite robust, and can easily cool off most every Class C RV.
@@TinCanTwosome I am getting ready to purchase a used Class C, but will not be keeping it very long. My intention is to make the purchase, do a few upgrades, and improvements, then flip it for profit, and use the proceeds to purchase a retired box type Ambulance to convert into my Tiny home on wheels. The Ambulance is a much safer platform to convert because they are built out of strong Aluminum, and built in such a way that they will actually with stand being T boned, and rolled, and as long as you land back on the wheels, you can drive away safely with nothing more than maybe a few dings, and scratches here, and there. They already have great insulation all throughout, as well as heat/AC, and 120 Volt Electricity installed, so 95% of the hard work is already done for you. They are a bit smaller than a Class C, but they have an unbelievable amount of Storage, both inside, and out.
The portable will condensate the humidity and also make water and will need to be drained off often. The A/C issue is it should have a drain tube, it may have been blocked or on uneven ground to drain away by gravity. My A/C is noisy also, by removing the cover and accessing the ducting, fill the side voids to eliminate the turbulence of the air flow, as it helps a bit. Just need some silver insulation tape mostly or cut out some backing material.
I’m in Canada and I’m trying to get my husband into this, so the plan is we are renting a Class C for a week this coming summer 2025, we plan 2 camp grounds so we learn how to pack up and unpack and set up. We love being alone so we are going to make sure the places we stay are close together since it’s only a week. My husband is 67 and I will be 59 and in wheelchair, we have had a cottage but it will be sold soon so we are excited for an adventure. And would love for our grandson to spend a night or two with us. Any suggestions you have for us. They are so expensive and we really want to make sure before we buy it that we are going to like it.i want a couch I don’t want to be sitting at kitchen table. Sorry.
You sound just like us! We want to be SURE before we buy anything! Which Class C did you rent? Where will you take it? We love Canada! Any suggestions of where to go?
