Gordan Ramsay is an AMAZING Chef, don't get me wrong, but Wolfgang Puck can make the simplest food with the simplest ingredients and your mouth will feel like you have eaten diamonds dipped in gold and garnised with ruby's and emerald's thats how exquisite it is. When I first heard of Wolfgang Puck, I thought he was this big chef who only cooked with ingredients from smal villages in European countries no one could pronounce. Then I saw a video of him cooking and it was the simplest thing. In my mind I couldn't fathom how possibly the best chef to grace the world could cook so simply. Then I had the privilege of trying his food and everything just made sense. Gordan is Great, but Wolfgang is something greater than words.

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Ramsay only because I'm not confident in my tasting skills to doctor up a dish and improvise. What I _can_ do is follow recipes to a T and use cookware to get that perfect sear, temperature, consistency, etc. In the end, proper use of cookware can transform bland food into something from decent to delicious, whereas if you use the wrong knife, grater, pan, heat, size, speed, it can ruin the food terribly. Case in point: bland steaks perfectly seared to medium rare served with steamed unseasoned beans vs overcooked chewy and dry but seasoned steak.

I think they are both worth taking classes from to find your own food style, taste and interests. Food is a intimate and personal dynamic that you find as you learn. Use both masters to find the master in yourself. Paying respect and homage to their skill is always a compliment for them; or it should be.

It really depends on what kind of cook you want to be. Wolfgang is a strict innovator, who accepts improvisations (but only if it works). Gordon is an absolute perfectionist, who encourages “by the book” skills and rarely accepts improvisations. Wolfgang will inspire you to be perfect but unique, Gordon will push you to be perfect in the same way, every time. Both Wolfgang and Gordon set the upmost highest standards, none of them are lenient. Both are equally as intense, Gordon singles individual people out for a mistake, while Wolfgang will yell at everyone for one person making a mistake. Both incredibly amazing motivators.
If you’re a perfectionist, choose Gordon.
If you’re unique and want to experiment, choose Wolfgang.

The early days with Julia and then the 2000s with is "Fast Food My Way" series. I could watch Wolfganf Puck all day the same as I did with Jacques. I almost wish I could see a colaboration between the two. In my opinion, it would be almost like cooking meets ASMR. Lol

Wolgang puck hands down is the harder working chef.... Gordon.. yea he's done some good things like his shark fin documentary and stuff like that... but half the time he's paid to fucking act like a dick and he's not really like that all that much , just a little bit... Puck moved out of his house to get away from his parents at age 16, he is a true self made man... and a better chef... Try watching Gordon think he knows how to make Curry... lol Gordon's curry is shit!! he's ok for a TV chef. I'm a Canadian from east coast, like where Trailer park boys are from, heck i even met them before lol.. anyway... i'm from there, and i know Curry wayyy better than Gordon... honestly , my friend Mike is a better chef than both these old men.

How much are these actually *master* classes as opposed to 'enthusiast' classes? I'm not dissing them at all, but if I took a master class from Ferran Adria, I'd expect it to be on a specific topic, for example, showing the ins and outs of spherification under adverse temperature and humidity conditions. It would be a let down to merely learn a variation on a potato omelet, no matter how yummy it is.

I feel like some people are saying Gordon because they're more familiar with him & he's a savage in the kitchen. That's not fair imo. Give Wolfgang a chance.
