Thank you so much! Sounds like Dark Rebel might just be your vibe-mysterious and a little smoky, right? Here’s to daydreams and finding scents that spark them!
That jacket looks 👌on you Maria. 🔥 You also nailed Piazza Alla Scala. Just mentioned that one to Marc (robes08) the other day. JV's Rebel Rider (if you can find it) is much heavier on the leather though compared to the original. Rebel becomes quite sweet in the drydown on me. Still one of Rodrigo's best for the brand. Completely agree with your sentiments about de-gendering smells too. We'll get there, don't worry. 😉 Much love. 🖤
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment and kind words!I truly believe we’re moving in the right direction with de-gendering fragrance-progress takes time, but passionate voices like yours help get us there. Much love right back to you!
Very interesting. I'm very shy of leather fragrances in general. I did own Dandy or Not GA by D'Orsay, but I swapped it with a friend. The EDP by Bottega Veneta, the same friend sent me a sample. That was so smooth, but it's discontinued and going for silly prices on the grey market 😂
Thank you for sharing! Leather scents can definitely be polarizing, so I totally get your hesitation. It’s funny how discontinued fragrances seem to gain this mythic status, right? It’s like they become even more desirable once they’re harder to get. Fingers crossed we find something equally smooth without having to mortgage the house!
Hehe it's obvious you've never even smelled Memo Paris leathers because if you did, you would know that they don't smell like leather at all 😁 also their Russian Leather is a coniferous green fragrance not smoky as you said.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! Fragrance is deeply subjective, and it’s perfectly natural for people to have different preferences. I’ve owned and extensively tested Ombré Leather, along with many other Tom Ford fragrances. While it has a lot of fans, my opinion is based on a comparison to other leather scents that I personally find more refined and complex-some of which are more expensive than Ombré Leather, and some less. That said, I believe conversations about scent should focus on shared passion and respectful exchange of opinions. Personal digs about finances or taste detract from that. Fragrance is about connection and individuality, not one-upmanship or tearing others down. I’m glad Ombré Leather resonates with you-at the end of the day, finding a scent that speaks to you is what matters most.
@MariaMeliora You gave wrong information and I pointed that out for you. If you have a passion for fragrances as you say, then at least care enough to give correct information about it.
Not a fan of leather, yet.. more suede. So for now i stick with Hermes Cuir d’Ange and Guerlain Cuir Beluga. Sometimes Galop d’Hermes and ofc Lutens Daim Blond for some crazy feelin’.
Thanks for sharing your favorites-what a beautifully curated selection! Suede has such a soft, elegant charm, and those fragrances you mentioned really capture its magic. Cuir Beluga is especially stunning for that refined, cozy vibe. Love your taste!
You're absolutely right-Dark Rebel has been notoriously hard to find for a while now. It was discontinued, much to the frustration of those who loved its bold, smoky vibe. if it is any consolation, I have a few decants still available
Leather makes me nauseous. I think my brain hardwired the car-rides that made me sick and throw up while still driving. The leather/new car interior would fast track that process. I can handle tobacco gourmands, or leather that is buried beneath a plethora of spices like Tauer, so I prefer that. It is my husband's signature in fact. The only leather I own is Daim Blonde; It still gives me a headache, hah!
Thank you for sharing your experience-scent is such an emotionally charged sense, isn’t it? It’s fascinating how our brains can tie certain smells to memories or physical reactions, like your association with leather and car rides. I think it’s wonderful that you’ve found ways to appreciate leather in fragrances like Tauer, where it’s more of a supporting note. It sounds like you’ve really honed in on what works for you, and that’s half the fun of exploring fragrance.
Tom Ford Ombré Leather smells cheap? 😂😂 Are you sure you don't have problems with your nose 👃? You remind me of the saying "He who cannot reach the grapes 🍇 says they're probably sour" obviously you never tried it because it's too expensive for you 😏

@MariaMeliora preference is one thing, but saying that a Tom Ford fragrance smells cheap is totally absurd! Do you even know that Tom Ford Private Blend released in 2007 set new high standards for the fragrance industry worldwide ? It basically disrupted the whole fragrance industry by releasing high-quality niche level fragrances that are made by a designer brand and it even forced Chanel to launch Les Exclusifes line, and Armani to launch Privé line, and Dior to launch Collection Privé, all of them trying to catch up with Tom Ford! So do some research about fragrances first before you start talking about fragrances sweetheart! Otherwise people will laugh at you and think that you don't know what you're talking about, which is obviously the case here 😉
Oh how I miss my Hookah! Dark Rebel must be for me.
Such a daydreamy fine video.

@MariaMeliora yes that definitely happens. I only tried it by chance. I'm definitely not one for forking out those prices, I can just move on

I think Dark Rebel is discontinued because some years back I tried to get it for someone as a gift. I couldn't find it anywhere.
