I scored a 15, I'm 65, a farmer, taking care of 9 horses a day & play beach volleyball several times a week (I have farm court), I enjoy your videos and do your strength workout several times a week, helps me to move hay bales around, thanks for the motivation to stay strong as I age.
60M 14 calve on left side 2 , right only just made it. I think going to gym doing a lot of various types of squats/lunges , pull ups, face pulls, and rotator cuff exercises has helped . I don't think 15 means your flexibility is really great , but means elite for day to day living, Definitely I know I can improve much more. Now after year in gym strength is "elite" for my age and being able to things like 15 plus full drop pull ups for most ages . Thing is , it's not what others can do, its what you can do - 1 year ago i could do no pullups Consistency is the key , start slowly, nearly everyone can get something . lift a can on to a high shelf, walk around a park, hike up hill for sunset Just stay active folks. try and build micro exercises into day - calf raises or squats while waiting , that external hip rotation here watching some TV , walk a bit faster , use the stairs get an ebike to build knees, you will find in a month or 2 , will only need a fraction of power assist , lots of social bike groups, every one can keep up with Ebike
I’m 71 and just coming out of a whole year of illness. When I started exercising again, with the help of your channel, I was shocked at how much flexibility I’d lost. After a run of 1's I was very surprised when I scored a 3 for the last two tests. Lots of work still to be done here! Thanks Will, your channel is a godsend 😀
15! Yay! Female turning 62 this coming year. My word for the year is “consistent” and will be working towards that in my exercise routine which has been lacking this past year. Thank you for all that you are doing to help us live our best lives in our later years!
I am 78 years old with numerous issues: post-polio syndrome (I was totally paralyzed on my left side from my shoulders down for 14 months at ages 2-3 and 1/2), rehabbed post meniscus and ACL repair, rehabbed rotator cuff tears (no surgery), and other typical age-related challenges. I scored a 13. Barely. I stay in serial PT and work with a trainer off and on now and have done this my entire life.
13/78yrs. Always have flexible. Not much strength though. I can still get up off the floor/ground but not out of tub. I'd be really spry if I did your exercises more regularly. Thanks for all you bring us. A true gift!
This was fun. I got 15 (female, almost 73). I knew I was flexible but I need to work on my strength. I am totally non-athletic, but walk daily and do some short tai-chi and ballet-inspired routines a couple of times a week. Thank you for your great content, your very clear explanations and careful editing are very helpful, so is your book.
Hi Will , I scored 15 . Chuffed ! I'm 63 years old. I really enjoy watching your videos. I have been taking part in a weekly Zumba class for 14 years but stopped this class as I was finding it too difficult. Instead I take part in a Yoga class once a week and I love it. Please keep posting your videos 🙋💖 I love them
I'm relatively young at 54 and scored 15. However, I want to stay lean, fit, & flexible, so am doing my best to stay educated with information found on channels like yours. Thank you, Will!
I’m 55 with hypofunction vestibular issues..hip have some issues but can be work on. I scored 15 but ur exercises will remind me to do better. Thnx for all ur video. I also have to osteoporosis…can you also do some exercises in ur future video. Thnx in advance ❤
I'm 59 and happy to see that practicing yoga for the last 15 years is working. I scored 15 on my right side and 14 on the left (due to an old shoulder injury on that side). Good motivation to keep doing what I'm doing, and maybe doing some extra work on that shoulder! Thank you!
13 points for me. I'm a 55 year-old lady from Germany and a great fan of your videos. The only problem was my left hip, but here I've been lacking mobility for more than 20 years (no accident). I'm working on it, from now on with the help of the exercise you showed us. A very good test, thank you!
I could do them all (I'm 75) apart from the last one. Had 2 operations for a disclocated hip joint in the 1950s as dislocation was not noticed till I was about 10 months old. Your videos are great Will, appreciate all the advice 👍
I am happy to say that I am an Elite, and on the high side of 70. It was the first two that were weak, and I knew they would be as I have stiffened up over the past few months. This video was great to address both those problems.
I’m 76 and I scored 15 although my left shoulder rotation was the most difficult to achieve. Everything else was easy. I’m quite active in my daily life and make a point of using motions that stretch and engage my muscles through all my activities. I’m still working a 40 hour week in a pharmacy and I see people everyday that are 50+ that suffer from all the movement issues you show us. Thanks for all the tips for staying fit.
Great test, Will! 68 year old female. I've been following you for a while, and your exercises have helped me greatly! I got a score of 12! Surprised myself. I have torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders in the past. Movement was slow, but I got it all the way to the wall! Was a nurse for 45 years and pounding the floors roached my knees. Tore my R meniscus in 2023. I believe both knees are arthritic. Will keep working hard to increase mobility and strength! Thanks for all you do! You rock!❤
Considering my hip replacement aged 27, scoliosis and knee meniscus degeneration; at the age of 57 I am very happy with a 12. Great to have the exercises to do to improve in the same video too.
70 years old. In spite of lots of injuries, broken bones in the past I got a 15. I will not rest on my laurels. There's always room to improve strength and flexibility. Or at least, maintain and maintain independence.
Hey Will, great video. I passed but I found that I will need to use some of these exercises to maintain my flexibility. Thanks for the information. You are awesome.
Oh dear. I’m just 60 and only scored 12. However I am determined to improve. I am super happy with receiving your new book this weekend, and I am making lots of positive changes. Yes it probably should be so much more of a better score. I’m average height and weight but have lost strength and hoping 2025 is a turning point. Thank you for everything. Your book and this channel is my new beginning.
In high school, I was always the last kid to get picked for teams. But now I'm a 65-year-old lab geek and musician, and I'm in better shape than ever. I scored a fairly easy 15. Thank you for the guidance and encouragement, Will!
Darn just a 13. I’m 74 with a congenital hip defect, tibial plateau fracture & broken ankle, all on the left side. A long athletic career has helped keep me fit but having regular physiotherapy has been a godsend! Thanks for your channel, your videos are so helpful and positive.
Hello! I’m a 59-year old female, 🇨🇦, I scored 13 - Imma think of myself as elite moving forward! Thanks for all your great videos, just starting to read your book, but I’m sure it’s awesome too!
Aged 83, scored 13 - both knees replaced and old shoulder injuries reduced my score. Active church organist and dog walker, so mobility and flexibility are retained!
Phenomenal video! I’m 59.5 years old & scored a 12…. Old soccer ankle injury & thoracic outlet syndrome are the areas to work on. Thank you for this! Had no idea my shoulder was as bad as it was.
Hi l'm 72 & I have a damaged arm/shoulder, & arthritis in both hips. I'm absolutely chuffed to death l managed 12 points. I do watch your videos Will & have always tried to keep fit. Again thankyou for all your work & great advise. Happy New Year to you & your wife. 🎉😃
Very encouraging, thank you. I am a 63 years old woman, and I scored 14, the only point being my ankle mobility, due to a complicated leg fracture affecting the ankle 4 years ago. It gives me a new motivation to stretch these ankles! ❤
Proud to score 15 at age 60. Thanks to your videos new book, which complement the practice of Chinese internal martial arts. I have sustained multiple joint injuries on the right side of my body from playing ball games in the past, but am regaining flexibility and muscle strength through consistent practice. Thanks for your guidance and effective illustration in the videos. ❤
I LOVE concepts that measure body performance! Highest quality awareness to improve my life. EXCELLENT application of flexibility concept where tight body decreases body range of motion with negative distortion of skeleton bone positions.
Thank you so much for your generous gift, please do not feel obliged to give anything at all, your viewership and time to leave a comment is all the thanks I can ask! Have a great week ☺
My right knee just won’t lie flat like the left for the FABER stretch, so my score is 14/15. Not bad for an active 68-year old! I am happy with that and happy to know there’s a way to fix it. Thank you very much for keeping us in shape with simple things we can do at home. This is an area that is sadly lacking in our health care. Greetings from Canada!🇨🇦
Aged 72 and not been very active for over a year. Scored 14 on my right side but only 9 on my left. Have issues with my left ankle, knee, hip and shoulder and been told it is just aging pain. New Year, new effort to prove that i can get fit again (i ran London Marathon 3 years ago) by committing to do your exercises and hopefully get running again. Thanks Will.
I'm 67 and have been to the gym for the last six months, doing resistance exercises two to three times a week. I scored 14p; only the calf test failed with a few centimeters. I plan to add more stretching to my gym visits for 2025. Good stuff, Will. Keep them coming. Cheers.
I am 66 and scored a 14. I couldn't get past a 2 on the calf stretch. Getting a 3 on the toe touch was challenging, but I did succeed there. The other three tasks were not at all difficult. I watch and benefit from your videos almost daily. I don't use the gym, but am following you for stretches and strenghthening that are optimal for my age group. I do a lot of walking on my job, which is still full-time and enjoy gardening outdoors.
Hi Will! Thanks for this one. It was fun. I'm 64 and scored 15🎉. I subscribed to your channel quite a while ago, after I realised, that I couldn't get up from the floor properly. One doesn't notice how the flexibility leaves you, when you avoid activities and specially when you work sitting down at the computer all day. Luckily I have dog and walk him twice a day for about an hour. Plus I've got your videos and built up a consistant training routine. Thanks to your guidance I can get up from the floor easily. I wouldn't have scored 15 only 4 months ago.
Absolutely, these are important functions we have to work on consistently to maintain. I'm so pleased you've been putting my videos to good use, it's brilliant to hear how beneficial they've been for you - keep up the great work!
Another good video. Pleased to get 15 but a couple of bits are tight and a good reminder to keep working on them. Also reading your book which my cats got me for Christmas
Im a 73 old woman who has played sport all my life. The last 50 years mainly badminton . So i was delighted to be rewarded with 15 points 😁. Thanks Will for the really helpful videos as they are helping me in my recovery from a meniscus tear. Done on the stairs not the court😢
I scored 13. I am 74. I led a very active adult life and engaged in Hatha Yoga. Unfortunately, I have become incredibly inactive in the past five years. I have bought your book and I am committed to using your videos in 2025. Thank you
Will, I love your videos. I just ordered your book. You wanted to know about our flexibility. I am 81 and I aced your test except for shoulders. That gave me a 2 on each side. I have trouble especially with the right shouler. But I am ELITE. Lol . Now I am moving on to your arm strengthening video. Thank you for your help. 😊 Scarlett
Yay. 3 for all except slightly on the last right groin test due to injured knee. I'm 71 and will do the exercises to maintain my flexibility. Thank you Will!
Thank you Will, I enjoy your videos that are so well explained! I'm 71 and passed with a 15 thanks to my daily and weekly habits! I hope it stays at 15!
I scored 74. I led an active adult life and was committed to Hatha Yoga. Unfortunately I became unactive 5 years ago. I bought your book and I am committed to using your videos in 2025. Thank you
This is a very interesting flexibility test. I'm 52 and I scored 11. The only test I failed on was the touch toe. All the others I scored 2s and 3s. I will be working on improving my flexibility with your suggested exercises, to see if I can increase my score in the next few weeks. I will let you know my score again in a few weeks time. Thankyou very much for this video.
I’ll be 70 in June. So I did this test after a workout so I was warmed up. My best score is 12, on my left side (stiff right hip lowers it to 11). Failed on ankle mobility. Thanks for showing us the remedies!
I'm 73 with a lifetime of dance and aerobic activity. My score is 15. However, I've had cervical spine surgery and physical therapy to help with limited rotation. I want to improve my upper body strength. Today is the 2nd time I signed up for the "Ultimate Guide..." and it hasn't shown up in email - inbox or spam. I get your 3-tip Friday emails.
I passed the test fully. I am female, 70 years old, practicing Pilates and swimming almost daily and recovered after two knee surgeries, two years ago. Love your presentation; poised and reliable. Keep up the good work!❤
Delighted to score 15 at 73 yrs old but I do Pilates and Yoga three times a week and follow a lot of the videos on the channel, especially for glutes and calves to aid distance walking! Need to keep doing the exercises!!
Feel quite proud of myself l got 15. After a 10 minute yoga routine l did these and enjoyed them. It was fun too assessing my flexibility. I'm sure all the exercises l do with you on UA-cam and from your book really help. Thanks Will.
Hi Will, very happy with a 15 on the left side and 14 on the right as I am 71 (female) thank you for the exercises to remain flexible and mobile. I do your recommended stretches every day and have improved strength and muscle using your exercise advice. Many thanks for all that you do for us.
I’m 74 and did better than expected considering dislocated/fractured ankle/leg in August. Scored 11-12 or maybe more correctly 11 1/2 since on the second one I scored 2 on one side and 3 on the other. I’m saving this video for future reference. Thanks Will!
68 years old, not super active the last few years due to a low back issue (scoliosis). Until 2 years ago had been doing yoga for about 35 years, only once per week but helped tremendously. Scored 14, only issue Faber test
I'm 79 years old and I scored 15. I have had 2 laminectomies for Schwanomatosis over the years. Apart from a few years missed because of pain leading up to these, I have practised yoga since the age of 24. My neurosurgeons tell me to keep it up as it has helped keep my upright posture.
58, scored 12 the 1st time, scored 14 the 2nd time & 15 the 3rd time. I took it 3 consecutive times & did the exercises to improve, in between tests. My weak points were with the 1st & 2nd stretches (toe touch & knee touch to wall) Thank you! These were very helpful to learn which muscles I need to strengthen for increased mobility. I also downloaded the free video, looking forward to viewing it & will probably order the book.
Great work, well done for putting the exercises into practice, it goes to show what a benefit they can be! I hope the additional video proves beneficial for you and, if you do decide to order it, I hope you find my book to be packed full of interesting information.
I got a 14! 57 year old female hoping to keep as much flexibility and strength that I can. I do try to exercise and do yoga when I can but need to work on this more. The last test was the one I scored a 2 on but I know I need to work on my hips. The surprising test for me was the shoulder rotation. I did score a 3 but it surprised me that I felt it a little. I had no idea. I don't usually think about my shoulders when I work out. I think about legs and hips more. So this was still eye-opening for me. Thank you so much! Your videos are great
I'm 56 and scored a 14. The hip rotation test is the one that got me. Everything else was easy. I've played hockey as a goalie for over 40 years until 5 years ago and it definitely did my knees and hips in (though I've almost always had this issue from childhood). I'm working on that hip rotation as I want to be able to play a good round of golf once I retire! I'll due the exercise to try to improve it.
I am 55 and got 12 - but I have never been able to touch my toes! and for the shoulder rotation - for my right shoulder I was a 3 and my left shoulder was a 1 because I have had frozen shoulder for almost 2 years - I thought it was 95% better but now I see from this rotation test I am not as far along as I thought I was. Thanks for all the great information!
I'm 13. My hips were forced to turn out for ballet back 50 years and this caused arthritis in the hip joints. But they go past 60 degrees so both are 2's. Luckily I can still stretch every other way from having been so good at it back when. It's good to have a test to know the important ways we need to be flexible.
I'm 75, easy full pass on every one. My motto: Move every joint in your body to full range daily. I do specific exercises whilst still in bed for my hips, back and legs. Had a 20+ year career involving dance. Recently purchased a mini trampoline. Love your videos!
I am 83. A qualified 12. I have never been able to touch my toes, just halfway down my shins is the best I can do without bending my knees. So one point. Knee to wall and both bed exercises, easy peasy. An easy nine. Again for the rotator test I can manage a 4 inch gap but again I cannot keep my head touching the wall at the same time as both my back and bum are touching. So I gave myself a generous two. Have followed you for several years and daily do at least one of your routines, sit to stand, step heel raises, squats and elevated push ups. I especially enjoyed your recent hands and finger exercises, You are doing excellent work, you deserve every success. Good luck with your recent marriage.
That seated groin stretch (or butterfly stretch) is a winner for those who've had a Bilateral THR. My groin/hips were still so tight 3 years after surgery. It took 6 months of gentle stretching, and an element of discomfort, but results are worth it.
70 years old (today!) and scored 13! I walk about 2 miles 4-6 days per week, and actively work in the yard and around the house. Adequate nutrition is a bigger challenge for me since I typically eat alone. It would be helpful to have a nutritionist partner with a physiotherapist since age related weight loss affects muscle strength. Love your channel! It’s the best!
12. I have been working on hip rotation for a few months. My 62-year old right hp would be a 3, but the left a 1. Thank you for the test and exercises to help us to improve.
Two years ago, I failed, with equivalent of hree ones and a two, on a similar. test. Was unable to press my neck, back, and butt against a wall at that time. Two years of careful progressive exercises, done with focused intention, got me to a 15 on this test, but with some strain felt. Thank you for this video, as prior to viewing it I was discouraged with what I thought was slow growth. I am recently 59, and feeling great about continuing my fitness program.
I did these and I was elite even with a full knee replacement.. so yay for me! Do you have any leg routines for people with knee replacements? And I just bought your book!
Hi Will. I think your classifications for this set of tests are very generous! At 63 I scored 14.5 - I have very tight left calf hamstrings - and would be no means consider myself elite for my age for any fitness parameter. Saying that, it seems to me the real problem we have with over-50 health and fitness is not with the top 25% of people who presumably make up the vast majority of this channel's viewers, but the bottom 75% of semi-sedentary and often obese individuals. How to get to this latter group is a question no-one seems to have a real answer to yet!

Brilliant result! Keep up the great work - I'm wishing you a happy and healthy new year!
@@HT-Physio Thankyou
Very encouraging, thank you. I am a 63 years old woman, and I scored 14, the only point being my ankle mobility, due to a complicated leg fracture affecting the ankle 4 years ago. It gives me a new motivation to stretch these ankles! ❤
My partner and I just completed your test. I am 70 and she is 57. We both scored 15. Thanks for the encouragement and affirmation.
Great work from you both!
I am 67 and received a 15. I am fairly active but still need more activity. I am grateful. Thank God
I'm keen follower of you Will.Im 62 and my score is 15😊.Following your videos helped me achieve this score.
This is brilliant to hear, I'm so pleased you've been putting my videos to good use!
I LOVE concepts that measure body performance! Highest quality awareness to improve my life.
EXCELLENT application of flexibility concept where tight body decreases body range of motion with negative distortion of skeleton bone positions.
Thanks!
Great videos and very useful guidance. I am 64 HI training 3 x per week plus 8k walk daily. Scored 14. Thank you Will.
Fantastic effort, keep it up!
Hi Will, I am 79, and have been doing yoga for 60 years.....I am pleased to say that my score was 15.......thank you for your videos....James.
Brilliant work, James, keep up your great efforts!
Thx Will. I love all your videos and you're really helping me a lot. God bless you for your work with us older folks❤
I am 70 and reached Elite. Love these evaluations!!! thank you
I'm 67 and have been to the gym for the last six months, doing resistance exercises two to three times a week.
Fantastic work, I'm so pleased to hear you've been putting my videos to great use - keep up the excellent work!
Oh, dear. I suppose I need to try this. A bit nervous. I guess knowing is the first step... Happy New Year!! Thank you for all you do!
I score a 15. I'm 76 years old and exercise daily, as I have most of my life. Thanks Will and Happy New Year.
Great work, Happy New Year to you too!
So much fun. Also veeeery useful. Not only the tests but the explanation around and improving tips.
THANKS
I scored 13. I am 74. I led a very active adult life and engaged in Hatha Yoga. Unfortunately, I have become incredibly inactive in the past five years. I have bought your book and I am committed to using your videos in 2025. Thank you
Great tests and great score at 71. Thank you so much. I have been doing aerobics for a long long time and yoga for 10 years regularly.
Scarlett
Scored 14, 60, female. Knee bent did no go for 3 points...
Added stretch to my routine, thank you!
I’m a 70 year old female, I scored a 15 fairly easily.. I hit the gym regularly! Love your channel😊
Yay. 3 for all except slightly on the last right groin test due to injured knee. I'm 71 and will do the exercises to maintain my flexibility. Thank you Will!
Great to hear you'll be putting these exercises to good use!
Been following your channel and your book for about a year! Thanks for your videos and publications!
I scored 11, only 1 for first two excercises. What fun to do! Love your book and your videos.
I’m 68 and scored a 14. I surprised myself when I could (barely) touch my toes. I walk 4.5 miles a day and keep active. I enjoy your videos.
I passed the test fully. I am female, 70 years old, practicing Pilates and swimming almost daily and recovered after two knee surgeries, two years ago. Love your presentation; poised and reliable. Keep up the good work!❤
Brilliant work, keep up your fantastic efforts!
@@HT-Physio Thanks! Happy New Year!
Thanks a lot from 🇮🇱 Israel. Great Channel
You're doing a blessed thing ❤❤❤❤
Delighted to score 15 at 73 yrs old but I do Pilates and Yoga three times a week and follow a lot of the videos on the channel, especially for glutes and calves to aid distance walking! Need to keep doing the exercises!!
Feel quite proud of myself l got 15.
After a 10 minute yoga routine l did these and enjoyed them. It was fun too assessing my flexibility. I'm sure all the exercises l do with you on UA-cam and from your book really help. Thanks Will.
Thanks for the test . Very helpful and love you give exercises to improve.
58 yr old female with double knee surgery behind means got 14.
Thank you.
@@honjam excellent!
Absolutely, brilliant work, it sounds like your efforts are certainly paying off!
58, scored 12 the 1st time, scored 14 the 2nd time & 15 the 3rd time. I took it 3 consecutive times & did the exercises to improve, in between tests. My weak points were with the 1st & 2nd stretches (toe touch & knee touch to wall)
Thank you!
I scored elite with tightness and the left shoulder. Better than I expected. Thanks
Same age and stiff hip rotation as me. I was crushing it til the Faber test!
Great work. I hope the exercise proves beneficial, to ensure you get to enjoy your golf!
I'm 65 and I scored 14. You've made an old lady very happy! Thank you.
Great work!
70 years young female; 14 out of 15 due to shoulder injury. Will work on it to improve.
Thanks!!!
Excellent point about the nutritionist. Happy 70th birthday ❤🥳🎉
@ Thank you! Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
Happy Birthday 🎉
@ Thank you! Have a happy new year!
12. I have been working on hip rotation for a few months. My 62-year old right hp would be a 3, but the left a 1. Thank you for the test and exercises to help us to improve.
-i enjoyed very much your video, so young and so clear with the informations, bravo!
I'm 71. Got an 11. Have had 2 hip replacements. I have room for improvement and feel very hopeful that your suggested exercises will help me! Thanks!
Great work, I hope these exercises prove beneficial for you!
I’m 62 and got a 14, missing one point on ankle flexion. Not so bad! Thanks for all you do 😊
Two years ago, I failed, with equivalent of hree ones and a two, on a similar.
54 scored 15. You are gold. Thank you. Cape Town 🇿🇦
Hi from Cape Town too. 🌻
Sending best wishes to you in Cape Town!
I did these and I was elite even with a full knee replacement.. so yay for me! Do you have any leg routines for people with knee replacements? And I just bought your book!
14 at 60 years thank you for the test. So good to have a benchmark for flexibility 😊
I'm 70, scored 15......yoga, swimming, walking.
At 75f made a 13 but not happy because I could feel a strain. Will be doing all of your exercises. Thank you so much.😊❤
