      I got mine, which is longer and in a hanging basket, for $26 in the US. I feel like they kept the same markup that they use for their rare plants, which is not fitting for a string of hearts.

    With how expensive these are you would think they would be in perfect condition. I got a philodendron hastatum about the same size and without the yellowing for $31 at a small plant shop. A lot of these look "big box store" condition with the dry leaves, yellowing, and tipped over plants...

    Wow, so rare. NOT.
    Common, unhealthy, puny and overpriced. Some of those only had a couple leaves. Why would you ever buy from a grower who CAN'T GROW? You should buy a plane ticket to Florida to buy plants. It would be much cheaper. Huge Paraiso Verde are $50 here. You can get 3 gallon gloriosum at Home Depot for $25. You can still get nice size hastatum on ebay or Facebook for a third of that. Places and prices like that only exist because of suckers that love to say the words RARE PLANTS. OH, and please tell me how it's "RARE" for your part of the US. lol. Im sure they dont have orange trees there either, but no one would call an orange tree rare.

      @@PlantingAshley Agree with Steven. Pretty much every vid you put out has RARE in the title..please stop using this when the plants arent actually rare, you are misleading people into thinking a lot of your collection is rare when clearly it isn't...your latest house plant tour for example....and that is annoying.

    • @PlantingAshley
      @PlantingAshley  5 років тому

      Peter Alanson my guy, there are hard to find plants and then there are easy to find plants. The dictionary definition of rare is something that is hard to come by. The botanical defition of rare is something that is going extinct. I create rare plant content, the kind of the first definition. Plants that MOST casual collectors cannot find anywhere, not mick mitty content where he literally goes out into the wilderness to find rare species. I use rare because it differenciates between the hard to find and the common household plant. Respectfully, If you dont like that, then there are other great youtube channels you can check out, and ill b sorry to see you go.

    • @stevenl1655
      @stevenl1655 5 років тому

      @@PlantingAshley These aren't hard to find AT ALL. They just got expensive the last few years because people like you have created this "rare plant" hype on social media and helped jack the prices up on yourselves. Go on a Plant Purge any night of the week and buy ANY of these plants. They aren't hard to find at all.
      Here are 2 absolute facts. Barely over a year ago a good sized Philodendron Spiritus Sancti was listed on Ebay and it barely went over $500. The reserve wasn't met, so it didnt sell. The same plant just sold for almost $6000.
      Also, not even 10 years ago you could get Monstera obliqua cuttings at the IAS show for leas than $10. So keep on calling all of this common stuff "rare" and see how far you can help inflate the prices. If you really cant find all of those you are just too new to the hobby and dont know where to look or who to ask or you're just too lazy.
