MUNA - Good Luck, Babe! [Chappell Roan cover] (All Things Go, Forest Hills Stadium NYC 9/28/24)

- All Thing Go Festival expanded their offerings to a new event in Queens for the first time this year. The lineup was looking every bit as good as the Maryland lineup, without be having to drive all the way down there. Instead this venue is a mere 10 minutes from my house. My friend Carlo and I were lined up at the venue in the rain before 5AM and were the first people on line. However due to mishandling at the gate, the VIP's were let in after some of early entry GA pass holders and we ended up getting a less than ideal spot. That's pretty disappointing when you pay top dollar but yet screwed over because someone didn't do their job right.
Still it was a great set despite Chappell dropping out last minute. I really wanted to see her and we had good spots for it on rail. I guess we'll just have to catch her next time. Soccer Mommy, Del Water Gap, Holly Humberstone, and MUNA were fantastic and made up for it. But day two is going to be wild.

@@oliviakwan7059haha right? It was a magical moment. I wish I got the short speech Katie gave before the song as she dedicated it to Chappell, but at least it's in a few other videos.
What a wonderful cover! Naomi absolutely killed it on the vocals!
@@alexnavas2802 beforehand they dedicated it to Chappell and talked about Muna has been a band for some time and had time to grow while Chappell's rise has been so fast and to show her some compassion.

Thank you, I'm a huge MUNA fan and really wanted to see Chappell at this festival but she bailed last minute. We might have been deprived of Chappell potentially being the guest singer on Silk Chiffon, but we did get this gem!

@@kayeatoast me too, they're one of my top favorites bands to see live. Great stage presence as you can maybe see from my other videos from this set.

Naomi is actually rather underrated at singing. I've seen them sing the verse on Silk Chiffon before and is just as good as a special guest or better.
@@IronChefWong.mp4 I feel like I've never heard their voice so clearly but the audio on this is so good! Love that they got a chance to shine ✨
@@alexwgraves oh yeah the audio mix was pretty good and I was right in the front row with a speaker with my external microphone in my coat pocket. It also worked out I didn't have any scream/singing fans in my immediate vicinity so the their audio is more isolated. I've seen some other videos from the crowd and some of the fans singing distracts from Muna's audio.

@@alexwgravesMy friend and I went a bit overboard with us having VIP tickets but we still got on line at 4AM in the morning and camped out. We were definitely the only two crazies there that early. We would have had a more centered spot on stage but the disorganized security let in the VIP ticket holders after some of the boomfy's besties early entry GA. Then the camera operator set up right in front of us and kinda ruined the view for a few of the artists. A friend complained to the organizers but day two still left us really uneasy. We only managed to get centered barrier on day two because we ignored the last line of security saying we couldn't go into the bowl, when the previous security said we could. It was very poor communication on their part.
Overall despite the rain and Chappell calling out, the weekend was a lot of fun and I'm hoping ATG gets Chappell back for next year and it's running more smoothly.
