Little did I know this would be my last time hearing her sing this live. :(
Update: I keep getting this question so I just want to explain this was my last time hearing her sing this live because she stopped performing it after the second leg of the tour ended. This was the second-to-last show of that leg, and I wasn't able to get tickets to the one after.
what i love the MOST about Chappell is that she has so clearly studied the performers that have come before her❤ i think that’s what makes her feel so timeless already. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is definitely an album that will shape our generation, i can FEEL it in my gay, little bones
She loves music, she loves what she does. And it's so clear. She's going to change music. A true artist for the next generation.

Chappell really feels like a spiritual successor to Gaga, she holds the same space in pop. A bold, camp, visually unique, boundary pushing artist, with a strong artistic vision, and some real impressive vocal chops to back it up. It's no surprise her fans would also be Gaga fans.

ive been thinking for a while that she reminded me of early lady gaga. she has a strong image, writes her own music, uses her voice for her audience, connects with her audience in a pretty special, inviting way, and has an amazing stage presence. she isn't just being another pretty girl with a pretty voice. and now to see her perform this only cements that idea.

The audience sounding like a legit choir during the chorus singing holding the "ooh oh oh" after the first "I want your love and... bad romance" at 1:26 makes me really want to listen to a pro record of this cover with a whole orchestra and choir with Chappell. Concerts where everyone sings together like this just have an unparalleled sense of connection... It achieves that same sense of "man, I'm a living breathing person, sharing this beautiful world with other people" that you get during the most intimate moments with friends.

I first discovered her last fall 2023 when she debuted on the Vevo Artists to watch for 2024 and have been obsessed since. Her music, lyrics, aesthetics and stage presence are a recipe for super stardom. She is genuinely talented and I foresee her becoming big this decade '20's.

Okay this might sound strange but there’s a point to it:
The crowd singing with Chappell at 1:18 reminds me heavily of Contemporary Christian Music. If you grew up in a church like I did, moments where it’s just vocals, synth, and the congregation singing together were frequent. There’s just something about so many people singing together that touches the soul.
Now, this is heavily queer coded - for fucks sake it’s Chappell Roan singing Lady Gaga - but it has the same effect. And it’s beautiful because we know there’s gotta be at least some in the audience with church hurt, but this is their moment to sing. This is the voice that we’ve found saying “you may shun me from your congregation, from your community, but I’ve found my own people and, goddamn you, I WILL sing.”
