I am curious as to why the GW, a long haul touring bike, generally targeted towards older men that might have issues with their knee, why doesn't the GW come with or have options for floorboards?

They are not needed and can be bought from Show Chrome. Older men it’s anyone they should consider a lightweight bike.

If you have multiple bikes, the bike you ride more is the better machine for you. After buying Honda Integra 750 for commuting, my other 2 bikes BMW S1000RR & FJR 1300 just sat in the garage. I started touring on the Integra due to comfort (floor board) and 70 miles per gallon. I owned a DCT VFR 1200 DCT from 2010 to 2016 and put over 155,000 miles, the bike had zero problem. I wouldn't think twice in choosing a DCT Goldwing over the manual, DCT shift faster than the manual and in stop and go traffic it's beneficial.

If you look at almost any other over the road long haul touring bike, they have floorboards, and for a reason. As the GW is this same segment, again, what is the rationale for NOT having floorboards?

We love our GOLDWING as is with out floor boards a great design. To each his own. I would rather peg through a turn than floor board through a turn, also floor boards reduce lean angles

Did you record it with a calculate machine?
