I’ve had Spyderco, benchmade, pena, ZT, you name it and I still pick the 6-1 fastback. I also choose it over a Skeletool. I just ordered 4 more with the latest Home Depot $20 packs. It’s the perfect edc for me.
While the description says "tool only" it does come with one each of a bi-metal ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI and HCS blade plus an adaptor plate for non-DeWalt blades. Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal. There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.
I’ve been using the Milwaukee fastback1505 for a couple weeks now I’m a technician use ever day in conjunction with a wave. I gotta say it’s very impressive. This is my first edc razor knife. One perk is that if your going somewhere that would normally confiscate a knife. This will pass you just have to ditch the razor blade. Also I didn’t realize it had an extra blade storage pocket in the handle when I got it.
Be careful with taking utility knives with disposable blades through TSA. TSA is inconsistent and agents can still decide to confiscate the empty handle
I have had the edcfans knife you looked at in this video for a couple of months now and I use it often at my job. Over time, the locking mechanism has developed a bit of slop in the button (don't know what else to call it), and has also gotten harder to actuate. Overall it isn't bad, but I think I would prefer the Fastback with its center drive and button lock.
the problem with the fastbacks is they are too heavy for EDC, i can tolerate a gerber slimbars weight, cons not fast to deploy the blade, not a locking screwdriver.
I have this exact version of the fastback, (I used to carry the version with a drop point knife blade) I carry this utility blade version everyday and I use it everyday. The driver is extremely handy. I have some really nice pocket knives and I carry them in my other pocket.
This is a copy of a triton tools promotional item and it has some annoying problems but it is the successor of a previous version that is MUCH MUCH better. The predecessor contains utility blade, jab saw and screw driver but all 3 are solidly locking and asside from the plastic body being a little easy to break in a trade setting, its a perfect trade multi tool. the jab saw isnt like the saws you get on other multi tools, it is actually a functional drywall saw. As a result it makes a perfect replacement for the utility knife slot in a tradesman tool belt and removes the need to carry a dedicated jab saw and screw driver. Im a remodel and carry it in my belt daily and have never regretted it. its a 9/10 multi tool but the version with the strait blade doesnt lock well enough. additionally the strait blade in a trade setting doesnt really have a function especially if its covered in plaster dust you dont want in your lunch.
Thanks for taking a look at this. I've had my eye on this thing for a while now. The awkward bitdriver and small teeth on the saw are a deal breaker for me personally since I run all these tools daily. I'm hoping Milwaukee can come up with something similar, but with better quality. Maybe a chunkier Fastback? Also, if you can, please cover blade play/wiggle when you review utility knives please. Nice video as always, Dom.
I like how the clip is on the other one vs the Milwaukee. I clip on to my belt so being able to grab it and quickly flip out the utility blade without rotating it is great. If the Milwaukee could do that it would be perfect for me. Maybe a future version could have optional holes to change the clip orientation.
Wiha sells different double sided bit sets that all fit the fastback. The only set of theirs that specifically has a phillips+slotted bit is in their 77783 security reload bit set.
Loved the Milwaukee 6 in 1 and started wondering of it a betyer edc than a folding knife.. then got to thinking most things you cut or use a blade for dont require the full blade length and it has other tools. When the blade dulls you throw in a new one instead of sharpening it.. The cons were you can't really use it for self defense which in TN you'd usually have a firearm and then I got into survival mindset of batoning wood and then I snapped back to reality and thought how many fucking times in a week have I had to baton wood to make a fire. I am enjoying the 6 in 1 and now I am considering a decent multi tool as long as it's not a paper weight for edc
If that but driver was locking, I would buy this just to try and mod it. Put some scissors and a T-Shank adapter on it. That would then compliment my load out. I am a telecom tech so a utility knife with a bit driver is the best for my day to day at work. Add in a saw and scissors and then have a Multi-Tool with spring-loaded pliers and that would be the bees knees for me lol. I know that sounds odd but for what I do everyday its what would work best for me. Do you think you could modify that to have a locking bit driver?
The Milwaukee 1505 is arguably better than any knife at any price, not just under $20 ones. I have a lot of pocket knives, some of which are over $400.
Wiha makes great double sided bits and there are a few different sets you can buy. The only set I've seen of theirs that has a combination Phillips and slotted on the same bit is their 77783 security bit reload set. Their other double sided bits also fit into the fastback so its a powerful combination. I edc them everyday in two 12-hole rubber bit sleeves.
Thanks for turning me on to the Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 a while ago. I've purchased 3 now and have noticed there are some QC issues relating to the extra blade storage locking tab. The first I bought fit just right. The 2nd the blade is a bit loose and rattles in my pocket. The 3rd is not perfectly aligned such that I have to lift up on the locking bar to get it to actually engage the blade notch - this one I'm worried is going to bite me one day.
huh... Milwaukee not available direct from Amazon might have them at Home Depot but that's a bit of a drive from where I live not a fan of folding utility knives prefer the plain old fashioned style with the sliding blade FYI I rarely buy new blades, I touch them up in batch when dull
Seems to be a lot of those generics coming out of the woodworks. All with advantages & disadvantages. Besides the Husky we also use Canon utility, both are as good. If the work is heavier. we do have our multitool. Cheers mate.
Integrated knife isn't smart, because goodbye utility knife the first time you travel by air. (Although I do love my apple with a coating of drywall dust. mmm... 😋)

Milkwalkee just needs to hurry up and make a 'premium' fastback with better materials
I bet they could sell a $250 titanium “special edition”
@@MrLlama999 You know people would buy it.
slimmer too
The fit and finish would have to be better (no blade play for the utility blade holder), but that could sell quite well of they manage that.
They should make a usable multitool on that format. Doesn't need a wrench nec. I hate carrying a Leatherman shape.
Thanks for regularly feeding my inner knife and multitool geek!🙂
You! Haha, this is all about my addiction problem 😅

Every knife comes with a wire stripper built right into the edge.
I'm waiting for a knife company to build a fastback style multitool with better materials and fit and finish.

What no bottle opener 😂
I think I’m going to stick with the Fastback 6 in 1. The inline bit exchanger is something I can’t live without lol!

If Edcfans replaced the saw with scissors, it would be the perfect EDC for commoners like me who never used a saw in our whole life.
I have the fast back....my only gripe was that stupid notch under the pocket....I cut that off...All good now....
Is there anywheres yet we can get replacement bits for the fastbacks ?
Wiha sells different double sided bit sets that all fit the fastback. The only set of theirs that specifically has a phillips+slotted bit is in their 77783 security reload bit set.
@@JC_1095 okay thank you for the info I'll check it out for sure hope all is well and thank you again
Regular bit, wiha double bits, and leatherman bit all work with it.
It's a must have for the price.
I'm impressed for $20
@@maxlvledc Most definitely! I feel it's worth it just from the presentation.

I wish they made an EDC Fans Knife with a better steel on the fixed blade.
Does anyone know where I can get the replacement double sided bit for the Milwaukee? Ive tried Klein and Irwin bits.. No luck

could you make a video on how to cheaply sharpen a edc knife, I have a Leatherman
I love the idea of a drywall saw on a multitool, but this design feels a little lacking in quality and ergonomics. Any other suggestions?
Does the lock feel like the shark lock on the AD 20.5?
Not at all hehe, more like a lockback

I ordered mine from Home Depot's website. The shipping was free and fast. Had it in two days.
Dude you forgot the bottle opener 😁
Great on the Fast back for their design! but id like better Materials, fit and finish, and could increase the durability on that driver
Got to 3.30 fastback still the winner, video over for me.

are those bits 28 mm?
No storage for another blade one it.
Workpro 3 for 18.
Good video, Dominic! I think if these UKs are made really "purdy" people will just want to look at them & not use them!😊
I’m getting a fastback, always wanted some form of metal scales. Again as with others I sub to, why the TikTok shorts👎
Light is better 💪

👍🏼not buying but kinda like it:)
Just typical, another awesome tool and you can’t get it in Britain 😢
