- Hello guys! Welcome back to my channel. Today I'll show you how to make a chili garlic sauce. This recipe will make your garlic crispy, fiery hot, and flavorful. It will make you eat more.
Chili Garlic Sauce
Cook time: 15 minutes
Prep time: 5 minutes
RECIPE:
100g Red Chili
1cup Dry Chili
3bulb Garlic
2tsp Salt
2tsp Brown Sugar
2TBSP Soy Sauce
2 1/2cup Olive Oil
*Fry garlic until it changes color to yellow, and then add your fresh chili.
*Cook it for 10 minutes in a low heat.
*Add dry chili and brown sugar continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
*Turn off the heat and add the soy sauce.
*Let it cool down before putting it inside the container.
TIPS:
*When chopping the chili you should wear a plastic gloves, so that the heat won't transfer to your hands.
*Fry garlic until it changes the color to yellow, not brown. Brown color of the garlic gives you bitter taste.

tip: since it can't be refrigerated, you may add a bit of salt and vinegar to make its shelf life even longer 😊 (vinegar acts as preservative bc it has low pH and contains acetic acid, while salt minimizes water activity to avoid spoilage)
Thanks for the tip. I was making like this too, however, one of those I made had molds after it was being stuck for a period of time which made me wonder. Now I know how to doctor it next time.🙏🙏

In my house it gets eaten long before it would spoil! Everyone in my house is addicted to it and it is put on nearly everything. I also do keep it in the fridge without a problem.

This is SOOOO good to eat. Easy to make.The second time I made it I added dried shallots after cooking for a little something more.

I wish I could peel garlic cloves like that. I have to learn that trick. Peeling garlic is the bane of my cooking hobby.
Press under your knife until a slight pop happens and simply peel it off

Tip: Before frying the garlic, add one star anise and two cloves to the oil (can adjust according to quantity, but do not put too many, as the sauce may become bitter). Fry them for about 15 seconds, then add the garlic. A small amount of cinnamon stick can also enhance the taste. Try and experiment, adjust to your taste.

MY GOODNESS! The first time I followed this recipe, I made the garlic really crispy. My friends loved it! It was unlike any other chili garlic oil. However, after my 2nd and 3rd attempt, I can't seep to make it crispy anymore. GRRRR so frustrating HAHAHAHA tomorrow I'll try again.

Try to put it in the microwave for 10=20 seconds at a time, depending on the quantity that you will you. It will become crispy again. Remove the chili garlic oil from the microwave once you hear it sizzling.

This recipe is very similar to one I make though mine also calls for MSG. I don’t put it in though, I prefer to use Hing (Asaefetida) instead. It turbo charges the flavour!

Just remember the side effects of asaefetida when serving to people on anti coagulants and pregnant woman as can induce bleeding. Sorry not being a party pooper ,just be aware. 🤦🏾

I am surprised that even if the chilli was added later the garlic did not burn at such high flame eventually ! I mean it was super hot oil.

How does this compare to S&B? It's my favorite topping and am looking to come close to that if not better.
