And to add she looks HOT! and sounds just as amazing. People dont sing as well as she anymore. She has the twinkle and clarity in her voice that can seldom,..if ever, be seen in pop stars. Even classically trained cross-over singers who attempt more popular numbers sound silly singing..mostly ending up sounding like sheep.

I love her performance here. Some of her expressions remind me of later movies of her and her singing gets an, eh, fuller sound to it.
But then, I've always liked adult Julie's voice more than the youngish one...

@@TheJulieAndrewsArchive I think she had 5 voices over her career, the young Julie, the one between 1959-1969, 1970-1980, 1980-1990, 1993-1997 was her deeper huskier sound. I find her 1959-1969 sound to be surreal in terms of clarity and beauty. Her voice regardless of how old the recording was, is like listening from the top of the range hifi equipment. I dont think any singer in recorded history had that level of crystalline quality.

I’ve watched COUNTLESS times! I absolutely love the fun arrangement. She’s also incredibly stunning and that high note in the end with the shattered glass is such a nice touch :). And it looks like she’s having such a good time doing it.

Here Dame Julie sings a jazz version of a song she introduced in Mary Poppins with an intersting orchestration. She introduced it and as Judy Garland singing Over the rainbow Barbra Streisand singing People Barbara Cook singing Vanilla icecream Liza Minnelli singing New York New York and many others can sing there songs in different ways and they will always be the best in.these songs. I agree with Shams the best Dame Julie Andrews vocal time was between 1959 and 1969.Before 1959 she was a talented soprano but after My Fair Lady she became not only a great singer but a marveleus performer. Listen carefully to her two My Fair Lady 1956 and 1958 recordings. In the Broadway performance her voice was more beautiful but in the London recording she performed better as an actress. Of course if she had made the movie she would have been still better with a more nature performance. But Jack Warner didnt let her do it. But she played some Eliza scenes on TV at the time and we can see what she could have done.
Julie Andrews was a great soprano with a marveleus tecnique but there were more for me of the same level Deanna Durbin Ann Blyth Shirley Jones Jane Powell and Barbara Cook on Broadway..Some prefer Kathryn Grayson.

What 70’s performance was this from? Formal audience attire, smaller TV camera. Was this a private function or meant to be a broadcast program? This is a treasure as Julie is in the best voice ever, probably after spending years in Gstaad in a cold environment, which she prefers for singing. During her Broadway Victor, Victoria she had backstage kept at 60 degrees for her vocal health. She said she preferred it even colder, but the dancers complained! 🥰

I've puzzled the whole thing together iin the beginning of this year with the material fans had stashed away from when it first aired:
