In most of these stories the single parent is a widow or widower which is not a single parent. A single parent was never married or with the other biological parent. Maybe divorce is a disgrace but being single because of death is not

@@Iamtheman325 guess it depends on you religion and beliefs. My mother has been widowed for over 40 years but still refers to my late father as her husband and considers herself married. Hard core catholic. Even my friends are like this. They refer to themselves as widowed parents
