Make sure you get a residue free shampoo! It's key for keeping your dreadlocks happy and healthy and clean. And always DRY YOUR HAIR. You don't want any water getting stuck in there and creating dread rot over time. My biggest issue was getting the root area fully dry. Best of luck on your journey! Hey, nice to see you going back to dreads. A long while back I watched your videos about the synthetic dreads, and I made some and put them in. I liked the look so much that a few months after that I got actual dreads and def still have them.
Would love to add as a person with partial locks, and long hair that after so long your dreads will naturally keep to themselves. I'm 2 years in and I no longer have issues having to constantly separate my straight hair from my locked hair!

They look great, and I like the diameter you chose. I haven’t seen human hair dread extensions done, only synthetic; I like the look of human hair more. I’m sure a lot has to do with the time and care you put into making the individual dreads, but I LOVE that you can bleach and color the natural hair!! You've done a lovely job. It is so much harder to do on your own head. What length extension did you use? Also, I know you mentioned in a previous video wished to preserve as much length as possible but if you stay loose when you begin the extension is is a bit easier to attach.
i recently added extensions to my dreads that were extended from their creation. i think i did a decent job attaching the new extensions although when i rub my fingers on it, i can feel that there is a tiny loose gap between the new extensions and the existing dreads. i am using a crochet hook to bring the hair from new extensions into my hair but is it possible the two may never fully intertwine?

So how did you determine the length of extensions that you needed? In other words, How much should I be prepared for the extensions to shrink after dreading?

I had to cut off a dread that started good and after a year ended up MEGA thin at the base. I'm planning on doing this extension thing when the hair grows more, I will redo a short chode-dread and hopefully will be able to attach a dread extension so it catches up to the rest.

Hi I've just done the unthinkable. I cut my dreads as it was killing my neck and felt they was sucking the life out of me.i kept them.abd thought I could see them on a bun thing top knot ? Got any ideas...? Has I just found out I'm going to be a nan. It was time I threw in the towel. But .....I changed my mind x

I attached 4 (out of 8 undercut extensions) yesterday and I'm always in the fear of tugging on it 😅 these nape hairs can hurt so much. I always attach extensions with a different method I hope none of them fall out lmao
When you attach the dreads to such a short length, the hair growing out will dread as well correct?
The hair that grows out would need maintenance every 4-6 weeks with a crochet hook :)

Shampoo in the shower like normal focusing on the scalp. The longest I've worn them for is 6 weeks until they need rebraiding.

Alex Raplee wool dreads are a thing. People make them.
Silly question but do you take the rubber bands out? Also can you do this with like cheek length hair? My top is cheek length and my sides and back are shaved.
Yes remove the bands when finished they are only for the sections. Hair can be 4 inches long for attaching dreads.
What do u recommend to soften new locs? Im afraid the boiling water thing will melt them!
If they are made from human hair use conditioner.

I just added one dread to my head today! How long did you leave the rubber bands on your dreads? I’ve read take it off right away, a week, and let it break off on its own.
