- This took me forever... I'm sorry its so long there just so much to cover, I could have surely made it a few more hours... but I hope I covered everything between these two guides for the user interface and how I use it in FFXI. I also go over what I know of every official Windower add on and Plugin.
If you make it thru this whole one you are amazing! and I think it could really help you enjoy the game and play much better. Some of the vets on FFXI may already know all of these things.

Use caution as some repositories have tools that I think may fall into real high risk stuff. And a large amount of the player base frowns on publicly.

I've really enjoyed these guides, thank you so much. I'm brand new to FFXI, I dipped my toes in for the first time last year and keep trying to get into the game but it's been really difficult for me with all the mountains of information, let alone all the outdated or outright broken links to things. Just wanted to let you know I've found your guides the easiest to digest for me, I appreciate your pacing and thoroughness, while keeping it concise and not meandering into nuanced use case scenario examples.

@@sakuradestros I didn't even know about the XIVparty that was a huge help. Mine didn't show Trusts buffs when I buffed them with protect and shell, maybe it only shows debuffs. But it's still better than the original UI health bars

dgvoodoo or d3d8to9_proxy by atom0s is mandatory for mobile dual gpu.. it wont run off dedicated graphics otherwise, at least if there is dual gpu.
Running the game in vanilla doesn't take a ton of power, but once you start to add add ons, 60fps, ect, yeah an iGPU wouldn't be enough
I can’t get the watermark to go away lol. Box isn’t checked and I even went into files and it’s set to “false”. Any ideas? It’s just annoying having having it over the health and names
So there are watermarks checks in 2 tabs, a dgvoodo one, and a 3dfx one. Also each time you modify the settings, be sure the play online folder is up. It tends to load on the dgvoodo folder and that won't change your ffxi

I'm still trying to figure this out. I extracted the files into the playonlineviewer folder but when I boot using windower I crash as soon as the game tries to load. Any suggestions?

@@sakuradestros Yeah(laptop), following the guide(DGVooDoo section) I dropped in the d3d8.dll and dgVoodoo.conf into the playonlineviewer directory but I still can't get it to prioritize my 3070ti with default launcer and with windower the game won't launch. Do you have any suggestions?
@@Eateroffoods05 under the GPU used section of the first tab of DG voodoo it has your 3070 selected? that usually tries to default to your CPU
@@sakuradestros I have my GPU selected. I can get the game to load on the GPU but am not able to with windower.
@@Eateroffoods05 the game loads fine on vanilla with DG voodoo but not windower? hmm... I'll be honest this is a first, gonna look into it. Maybe a reshade conflict or something? GPU drivers override? I know nvidia software likes to overwrite stuff? so be sure to select "let the software decide" for anything POL related, I think that also will count for the windower
I unchecked the watermark... its still there
there is a watermark check on 2 different tabs, the 3dfx one, and the third tab for dgvoodoo. Make sure both are unchecked then save. While the playonline folder is on the top. I still mess this up sometimes on reinstalls.

@@kenmasterz755 at that point? I'd assume dgVoodoo.conf file in your playonline folder is messed up somehow, and would delete it and start that spot over again.

your videos are great! i downloaded the zipfile for enemy bar 2 , unzipped and then copied the folder into addons.. when i try and load it using command: //enemybar2 it says file does not exist ?
what am i doing wrong ? :(
You want the command //lua load enemybar2

@@sakuradestros ah sorry! yea i did that but its still saying file does not exist... hmmm
So the lua load command follows the name of the folder in add ons folder. So if you have the folder named EB2 you'd want to use that name. Also... You unzipped it yeah?
@@sakuradestros ahh that worked... so when i downloaded it b4 the folder name was enemybar2-master ; i removed "-master" and it worked!

The concept of “cheating”
Is impossible in a PvE game.. it would be more accurate to say “break the rules”.
Nobody would say you “cheated” the speed limit by driving fast to get home quicker.

You skipped the entire installation part for dgvoodoo I believe.
There isn't really an instalation per se, you would just unzip it where you want to open it from, its not a traditional .exe type installer

Can windower addons run on FfXI being played on the steam deck?
Personally have not tested it? But I have friends running windower on wine in Linux? So I don't see why not
