a friend of mine had the genius idea to go into her mouse driver's settings and rebind the side buttons to ctrl and alt so she wouldnt have to adjust her hand nearly as much and still be able to make use of those buttons
may i ask how ? i mean i have a mouse with 12 side buttons ( logitech G600) so if i bind a side button to say cntrl how do u press 2 buttons with one thumb? am i missing something or am i just being dumb atm? xD
@@mugetsu9393 she uses ctrl/alt+1 through 6, q, e, f, and r i believe. one side button is control, the other is alt, so she doesnt have to try and stretch one finger down while also hitting those buttons
Dude genuinely, thank you so much. Been playing a little over 2 years now, and I had NO IDEA there were so many solutions available to the things that annoyed me on my HUD and UI. You're the best
this is a great simple video that i wish i had seen when i was first starting 😂 took me a while to learn some of this stuff, but i like that the customization is high in this game!
Thanks for another calming, informative video. I really love your content, Hyun. I appreciate it a lot. Great summaries that aren't hard to follow, and gentle comedic timing. Keep up the brilliant work. This seriously helped clean up my HUD and straighten out issues I had while doing content. 😄 I'm looking forward to your future videos and the growth of your channel. 💜
I'm an AST main who plays on controller and I do use the job sorting section in config to sort (roughly) based on card prio to try to give them out using as few inputs as possible probably not a terribly useful feature for other jobs but I appreciate it lol
super good video! thank you for sharing! your channel is really pumping out good and helpful content - i personally don't currently heal but just knowing many of these options exist is so helpful! keep up the good work!
Great video. Very good summary of settings. I like a lot of the newly added customisations which most older guides might not include. I personally use two mouse buttons plus ctrl for my NIN mudras (one for execution), which makes it really fast and easy in my opinion.
something i did that made my gameplay way more comfortable is binding both the side buttons of my mouse to Shift and Ctrl so i could just make a ton of combinations and this way you don't have to use your ring finger and imo is way more comfy, i also use this for Wow :b
Lots of good advice here. My UI actually has _every_ hotbar present, but they are mostly tiny (60% size), set into the 3x4 grid, and tucked away at the edges of the window, except for the main four I use for weaponskills, abilities, and potions. I got my bars synchronized for DoH and DoL long time ago, but my Combat Job bars could use with some harmonization for the various rolewide Abilities like Swiftcast, Surecast, Arm's Length, Shirk, and Bloodbath.
I thank you for this, I never knew I could move the tooltips (they're blocking my buttons and I use a laptop so the screen isn't so big to begin with) T^T As for the HUD, when I started learning healing I did a rearrangement of my HUD to adjust to all the healing or buffing I'll have to do. I had my party list right beside enemy list on the lower right near my hotbar so I can easily pick who to give buffs/who to attack (I main AST and SGE for healing).
glad to hear that the video is helpful! It's good that you adjust the ui as you learn healing! Also, AST is probably the healer that need ui customization the most due to how the job works.
For keybinding on the mouse. Not only you can bind stuff to your side buttons, but also scrollwheel up and down, scrollwheel click and all of these with Shift/CTRL/Alt mod. However I am not sure if FF14 allows the scrollwheel binds
a good trick if you have a couple of mousebuttons you can turn them with your software in to modifier keys so instead of straining your hand you can use mb4 to turn on ctrl , etc...
The only thing I want is a high contrast mouse cursor, the only thing in my current setup that takes time for me to find out is where the hell is the cursor
Regarding the easy to reach keys in the keybinding section: If you can/want, get a twelve button mouse. It made my gameplay so much easier and my execution so much faster. They are a god's sent.
I have my side buttons on my mouse tied to CTRL and ALT and use 1-5 numbers and then all the buttons around WASD. That gives me a full 3 bars of abilities without too much reaching on the keyboard.
As a healer... it might be a good idea to know when your tank self heals. Nothing is worse then using Bene on a low health tank after they healed themselves.
Every time you target something and the cast a move there is a separate nice sized bar that pops up in between the party list and enemy list, what exactly is that I want to turn it on but can not find it.
Darn, I thought from the thumbnail that this video would reveal a setting I've missed that lets you toggle off the MP bar while keeping the HP bar. If I have to have both off though, I think I'll leave that setting alone. I'd love to toggle the MP bar off for jobs like DRG, RPR, WAR, and GNB that don't interact with it whatsoever, but not having my health bar in the spot I expect would really throw me off.
Sorry for the misleading thumbnail 😓. I didn't realize that it could be intepret that way, so I've altered the thumbnail a little bit. Thank you for the feed back!
@UmbralRYT Oh, no, you're fine, I didn't mean that as a complaint or correction. If anything it's just me grumbling about that not being a settings option. My apologies if that came off snippy at you, it wasn't meant to be.
Nooo don't be sorry about it, it's actually kinda misleading when i look at it after reading your comment. But yeah i feel like the option to turn off MP for physical job would be nice :/
@6:00 "Bind stuff to your other mouse buttons" ... only if you use the mouse in combat, lol. Yes, call me weird, but I never touch the mouse in combat unless I have to aim a ground target or use an LB, as I don't have that assigned to any keybinds because of how bad an accidental LB can be.

ooh!! i need to look into this, thank you! small hand problems 😅
That's exactly what I do. I use Shift normally on the keyboard, but I use CTRL as a mouse bind from the mouse driver. It has def saved my hands.

Omg you can get rid of the pop ups!? Thank you!

Lmao are you me? My hotbars are similarly dispersed.
Has supper useful - thanks a lot for video!
Would love to see more these times of videos.
glad that the video is helpful to you
I need another stream!!!! Love your vids, can’t wait for the next one
Great video Umbral!
how cute is this cat boy o.o

So good man!!! Instant sub.

my fps gamer instinct to bind jump to scroll wheel is tingling
The recast timer position will help me a lot
Great quality video! Thank you!
Thanks! Very helpful advice.

Very Helpful Thank you.
Another banger from Hyun.
The only thing I want is a high contrast mouse cursor, the only thing in my current setup that takes time for me to find out is where the hell is the cursor
you can use a bright custom cursor in windows and then tell the game to use that one instead of the default cursor
also there is the mouse ping keybind
Ever since I started using the Razer naga mouse with the 12 buttons on the side, I cant go back to using the keyboard for attacks lol
Regarding the easy to reach keys in the keybinding section: If you can/want, get a twelve button mouse. It made my gameplay so much easier and my execution so much faster. They are a god's sent.
another great Video :3
You are very informative. I'm happy that I stumbled upon your channel. Lmao, plus arming the healers with a keybind for rescue is evil JK
so helpful

Your character is super cute, thanks for the guide.

You character looks good (:

Your video editing is clearly a notch above! Are you a film student by any chance? Videographer?
I think I identify as a person who live in premiere pro lol
Any chance you can upload your ReShade (or GShade) preset?
Beside that, great video! ❤
It's Neneko_Wildflower! and thank you
how is this so well edited :O
Also, no I will not touch grass, you can't make me >:(
Miqo so cute (✿╹◡╹)
I am a big chongus UI enjoyer
Your catboy is distractingly pretty. Good video, thank you.
HAND SPOTED
I don't get how people play without damage numbers. I need that direct crit dopamine hit 😅
What if I have 12 buttons on my mouse o.o ~ life hack
I think seeing other peoples numbers is stupid if i want to see their numbers ill get a dps meter.
Oh no....Touching grass. 💀
Vtuber dislike
