A new lightweight, Cartridge System, classic large arbor reel available in two sizes allowing it to work with the most popular rod sizes on the market today. The reel is has a body made from die cast aluminium making it very strong and lightweight. Black in colour the reel offers a non shiny surface and stops the sunlight sparkling off of it and spooking fish, very handy especially when fishing in streams and small rivers. The cartridges can be quickly removed for changing lines and the front release knob is on a captive thread so that it cannot drop off and get lost by the river or bankside. Internally the reel has a central twin Rulon disc drag to provide smooth braking for running fish. A tool-less left/right conversion, you simply lift out the internal gear/cog, flip it over and replace to instantly change from left to right hand wind. The reel is supplied with a total of 3 cartridges allowing you to load and swap between 3 lines as soon as you have them loaded up, however you can purchase spare spools for little money, should you have few lines to choose from. The GX500 has a very unusual feature allowing you to put identification pins in each spool that at a glance tells you what line is loaded on each spool, expecially handy for competition fishers that carry a multitude of lines for any possible occassion. The cartridges are keyed and are very fast and simple to change, just pull on and off the reel head, no messing about with fiddley "O" rings or locking threaded rings to unscrew. Available in size 4/5/6 and 6/7/8, the reels are supplied in a small zippered storage bag which holds the reel and the two additional spools as supplied.
