    Actress / #Patient : Marlo is an actress and was compensated for this session recording. This session was not rehearsed or discussed prior to filming and the content of the #therapeutic work is authentic and true to Marlo and her personal life experiences. In this sense it is a genuine “First IFS Session” and Chaya and Marlo’s first meeting.

    I appreciate you sharing this video. I am exploring training and using IFS in the therapeutic setting for my clients. I am one of those folks that has to "do" in order to learn (kinesthetic learners), so all the reading in the world only gets me to 30%-40%, and watching the doing or the actual doing (like this video) gets me to 90%+. Also, appreciation goes out to the client for being courageous enough to allow others into their personal struggles. If you are still in contact with her, let her know she is helping many more suffering people by allowing clinicians to explore IFS techniques for hundreds of clients and dozens of years to come. Her positive impact cannot be overstated. Thank you to you both. :)

    When little one decided she was ready to let go of the 80% ❤. I've only recently discovered IFS and so far this is the most beautiful experience l've watched. Thank you both for sharing.

    Many thanks for this, I found it very interesting, helpful & Informative. My dad was very ill, and then passed away whilst my mum was pregnant with me. My mum was understandably depressed, and went on to be diagnosed with bipolar. I have been quite withdrawn, and had regular periods of depression throughout my life (I'm 58 now), I've read 4 books on IFS, and watched many videos on IFS by Dick Schwartz and other IFS practitioners, engaging a therapist is way beyond my means right now, but I feel that I'm making some progress. I had never thought of handing the burden back to my mother before watching this video - my mum has passed away now, so I believe she has been unburdened, so I believe she could take it back. Thanks again, I'm saving this video to watch again.

      @kingofdubb2133 thank you for this wonderful feedback. My joyful Parts are clapping, singing, celebrating and joining your curious and learning Parts for the fabulous IFS work you have been doing on your own! IFS is a therapy model that was designed for everyone to do, so you’re in the right place! Blessings for continued healing and unburdening, and here’s a suggestion, perhaps there’s someone like a friend, or another family member who you can do Parts work together with? Sending good wishes from my Self to YourSelf 😊

    Thank you very much indeed for your generosity in being willing to share sessions on different aspects of IFS. I really enjoyed the first session with who I now know is your husband. I live in Australia and am not yet an IFS trained person. I have had one Zoom session with a level 3 therapist trained by Dick Schwartz (Level 3) and am currently reading and working through two IFS books and viewing many therapy sessions online.
    May I ask a question (and I realise this video is a year old now). Imagining myself as a 4 or 5 year old child (and I clearly can remember myself at this age) I do not believe I would have any sophisticated mathematical concepts such as percentages at this young age. Can you comment please if you read this. This aspect is causing me to be hesitant about trusting. I trust IFS but have an issue with the detail here. Thank you.

      @Tascountrygirl - if you are referring to the legacy burden, Marlo gave her assessment of the percentage from her present day Adult Self. I hope this answers your question 😊

    Great session! I’m wondering how much background the client/actress had in the IFS model prior to this session? I get the sense that she was at least somewhat familiar with the IFS model?

    Is there ways to go about it if theres a persistent feeling of not being so clear on communication with a part, for her (thankfully) it seems to come easy and naturally.

    • @empowermentaftertrauma7812
      @empowermentaftertrauma7812  2 місяці тому

      That might be because there’s a ‘blocking’ part getting in the way so first we would address the blocking part
