Great video!! I'm curious to know your process for discerning parts from the self. At 22:38 you suggested that Rachel should ask the part that is annoyed to soften back. I first assumed that her self was annoyed until I heard your comment. Should we assume that all strong emotional reactions towards parts are just other parts?
She goes so quiet a lot to think or find comfort to express herself but you’re so beautiful patient. Not many people have that skill, including myself.
Wow, this video really showcases the power of IFS therapy. I appreciate how the session is so thoughtfully presented. However, I can't help but wonder if focusing on the "inner child" concept sometimes oversimplifies the complexities of adult trauma. It feels like we might miss some deeper issues by framing everything through that lens. Just my two cents!
thank you!! yes I agree, it is a risk to become too narrowly focused on any 1 component of healing from trauma...luckily IFS pairs really nicely with things like EMDR and somatic experiencing. We have published these demos trying to show IFS in its purest form, for the sake of education etc. Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for sharing🙏🏾
