I have all of these models and I will say that this one is the most visible and perhaps the most functional. These Technic supercars have evolved over the last 10 years, and Lego is just getting better and better with these 1:8 kits. Two more weeks and I will own one. Hats off to Lego for a great customer experience in restoring some expired rewards points (like within 15 minutes of EMAILING them) because I only buy these sets every two years. And points expire. It's nice that they will help me lessen the pain of a $450 set. Great video and thank you. Only watched bits and pieces not to spoil the experience.
I have them all and being a real mechanic I appreciate the challenge these cars are. They are not for everyone. It takes a good mind and sharp eyes to build one of these. Mis one part and you will have a major mess. I had to rd Kildare the Bug my son did as he missed one part for the front drive.
These sets do punish you if you miss something. Backtracking gets really messy. I have to remind myself to slow down a lot. Even then, there were two times I missed something small and had to go back.
I don’t get the issue people seem to have with TLG doing the P1 instead of a more current model of McLaren. The P1 is cool. Frankly I’d love it if they’d do more older models….like the classic F1 with the centre seat. That would’ve been amazing. But they seem to be trying to keep the technic models (least until the P1) as up to date as possible. Strange.
I just saw in another review that when you push the car the wheels squeak. Not sure if that person made abuilding error or if that is an issue with the set.
I'll be sure to do this in an upcoming video. I was going to bring all these upstairs and it would save me a trip. Sorry for the disappointment on this
I want to buy some Perspex boxes and I'm not sure about the size (it's for the Lamborghini sian), in Lego it says that it would be around 60* 25* 17, can u tell me if it's right? Thanks🙌🏾
I didn't like it until now but I will add this to the collection. I was upset in 2021 I could of got the Porsche but didn't realize that it was very rare and it was 500 euro wish I got that one to have a complete set.
Hey Alex maybe some troubleshooting help for me lol...this was my first technic model finished it but my pistons don't move when the car/tires more and shifting is a little rough.. are the pistons supposed to move with the wheels?
Pistons should move if it is in gear. I also had this fear, but it turns out I was in a very high gear. Shift it to the lower gears and you should see them move. If not, the axle may be disconnected at the crankshaft. That's my guess.
I saw this one on the Lego store just yesterday. I love McLaren p1 especially because of gta 5 but I really enjoy the way it looks. I was leaning towards getting that nasa Artemis launch Lego but as soon as I saw this one I wasn’t sure anymore
I remember when I was 14 and I was obsessed with the McLaren F1 supercar. I would look at pictures of it every day. If you are a huge fan and obsessed with the P1, then yeah, you'll be happy with the purchase. But I would also say try and hold off for a bit to see if it goes on a discount. It might happen and would save you a lot of money.
The building experience is going to be a few hours and then it just becomes a very expensive mantle piece… that kinda money is hard to come by your age and you should use it for something you’ll get a lot more use out of it
For future reviews of technic vehicles it would be a lot better if you focus more on the functionality and what it represents, instead of the esthetics, which you did.
I would rather do away with the "looks" and concentrate on the functions. I think LEGO makes poor scale models. I sort of wish they would get away from trying to model real vehicles and do more fictional supercars or other interesting fictional vehicles.
I have 3 of these super cars, Porshe 911, Lamborghini Sian, & the Ferrari. I won’t be buying anymore. I managed to build the 3 I have but they are just to technical and I don’t enjoy building these. Besides that I don’t have the room for anymore of these big cars. 😆 Great Review Alex like always!! Your the best on UA-cam 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
4:00 it represents the electric motor, because McLaren P1 is a hybrid
Glad to see they finally improved the paddle shift mechanism of these cars
if you’re going to complain about the GEARING and FUNCTIONALITIES, Technic is NOT your kind of set.
Indeed
Be calm my friend jeez

Cant wait to get my preorder she is beautiful and a great add to my collection!!!salute from the Netherlands my fellow Lego freaks.
As a Lego fan and creator it’s cool to see this car as Lego set. One of favorite set and great review video

I think its because the p1 was the first supercar to use hybrid technology. From what i watched its pretty amazing the way it was designed
Just bought today. Glad you told us assemble time. Looking forward to completing this weekend.
I just saw in another review that when you push the car the wheels squeak. Not sure if that person made abuilding error or if that is an issue with the set.
I miss in the end when you used to go to your shelf and look for a perfect place to place them

For $450 Lego should make the pins match the color of the vehicle
Yeah i feel like for the price you should be able to order whatever colors you want on the car. or at least have a few options
Thanks Alex, can't wait to see the comparison!
I didn't like it until now but I will add this to the collection. I was upset in 2021 I could of got the Porsche but didn't realize that it was very rare and it was 500 euro wish I got that one to have a complete set.
Sorry you missed out on the Porsche. That's a tough one to get these days.
I got my Porsche GT3 RS on Temu for $114.74! It is knock-off, but so what it displays just the same for a whole lot less.
I actually have a promotional magazine that is all about the P1! It is glorious!

3:59 pretty sure that’s supposed to represent the hybrid electric motor, as said in racingbricks video.
Just an evolution as set , definitely wait to discount and buy at 280$❤
Nice video & set👌😊Are the same wheel size as the Daytona SP3?
Yes, because the tires are the same.
LEGO - Take my money!! This looks awesome
Awesome set
0:42 oof that pronunciation, it’s correctly pronounced see-on
Fix your steering wheel logo tile, it is 90 degrees of at its current location before you display.
Thanks, man!

I'm just bummed it doesnt look like the real deal compared to the past 1:8 supercars which replicate their real life versions really well.
did it come with a vin plate ?
Yes
Guys imma be honest, I’m 14 and I have just about enough money to buy this, IS IT worth it?

@@XxDragon_StoneXx ye I know I’ve been saving it for like 5 years 🫥
NO if you buy it! You'll put it together and set it somewhere and leave it. When I was 14 I had way better things to do with MY money
Alex, your reviews are the best 🎉🎉🎉😊
I have clear pins for the blue ones!
I can't wait to get this and that mercedes f1
İ think next car koenigsegg jesko absolut or pagan
This looks really great!
Why you compraise other Technic set
İn my opinion best LEGO 1:8set
Looks like a chinese counterfeit Lego Technic
Great review, anyways!
what?? how
Can someone motorize this?
Just wait a few months (or less) and check out mods in Rebrickable.
Erm, I want one
It's a hypercar.
Ah, I need to get that right. Thanks!
@@alexnunes 😊👍
This looks like a McLaren 570s
👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks, this is good feedback.
I wonder if you could add Lego RC functions to this.
Slick, sick looking car. It would be cool if they included the GWP with it.
Good idea on the GWP. I haven't seen any news on that.
I still feel like these cars should come with a motor as well as a way to motorise them so you can actually see the gear speed differences
Come with motorize dont have gearbox. Gearbox better
@mr.aligator6308 gearbox is better but I feel like I can't tell the difference In speed when looking at my sets
This is not a review! This is advertising. Thank you Lego.
Still have shitty steering wheel ...lol
I would rather do away with the "looks" and concentrate on the functions. I think LEGO makes poor scale models. I sort of wish they would get away from trying to model real vehicles and do more fictional supercars or other interesting fictional vehicles.
You're right about that. But Lego primarily services a complete different buyer class since the late 90s when they focused on Star Wars/Licenses.
The blue pins should be banned forever. Lego does that always.
Yes and the Lego Cat Dozer have them too.
Imagine if they brought out a Ferrari F40 it would be the biggest seller ever
I have 3 of these super cars, Porshe 911, Lamborghini Sian, & the Ferrari. I won’t be buying anymore. I managed to build the 3 I have but they are just to technical and I don’t enjoy building these. You know, after building the Porsche 911 RSR I was so tired of technic and went back to other themes since then.
Because it’s not the real Technic, it’s the same gearbox in a different shell.
