Wilton, I love your products. But I use the Wilton Candy Melts (in special) for the apples, strawberries, decorations for cakes and decorations fruits. (Sorry my English is bad, for the moment ☺️).
I only use Wilton decorations, they never fail me.
This was great! I’ve been decorating for nearly 11 years and I’m only just about to use candy melts for the first time next week. Wish me luck!

Great video! Just got my candy melts:) My question is, don't you have to temper with chocolate first in order to make decoration pieces out of it? I know that you have to use thermostate to temper with chocolate . Candy melts helps to temper with chocolate without using thermostate? I am confused. Please help! Thank you Wilton
Hi! Since Candy Melts are not chocolate, they do not need tempering. You can learn more about Candy Melts in this video: bit.ly/2S4Ag8h Thanks for watching!
Wilton nice where I used to live
I will use the first time candy melt this week. Can I mix candy melt with real chocolate?
I have to make a giant cupcake base.
Question for Wilton: can candy melts be used for writing btw? I dont like the part of having to add v. oil to thin out the consistency... I feel like that'll make it too droopy for me to write...
Can u melt them and use them in THAT consistency to write on a cake? Or shld I just stick to normal chocolate?
There's something you can buy to thin out your chocolate. You can buy it at craft stores. I'm not sure what it's called EZ thins I think. I saw it in one of the videos for dipping strawberries
Can you add maple flavor to vanilla melts ?
Ooh do have the recipe for the candy melt drip?
Ok let’s say I use candy melts to decorate/dip and I’m set .... but the party is outside will the candy melt start melting again? (This my first time going to use candy melts)
How long does it take for candy melts to dry?
May I ask if I use candy melt on whipped cream to decorate the cupcake . Will it melt , ? Thanks 😊
Hi there! Since the whipped cream would be cold and the candy melts would be warm, they would probably make the whipped cream melt! If you want that chocolate flavor on top, you can pipe candy melts onto a piece of parchment paper into fun shapes, let them set up and come to room temperature, and add them as little toppers to your cupcakes! Happy Baking!
@@wilton thank you dear . I am thinking to mold the candy melt into different shape wait for them to cool down then to decorate the cupcake . I am just worry it might melt Bc it touching the heavy whipped cream frosting . May I ask should I be okay ? Thanks dear
If you add them shortly before serving they should turn out perfect!
We don’t have corn syrup here in the uk what should I use instead .?
Hi Mandy, you can use 1/4 c. of glucose instead.
Is candy melts expensive or do they make us price if we want to buy alot for us people that bake and sell and all that?..
considering I can't find any info regarding contacting for the Tasty by Wilton Strawberry Cheesecake candy melts, I'll leave it here ya'll can pass it on...i am NOT happy idk if I got a bad batch or what but in my entire 5 years using candy melts I've never had this problem, they didn't melt...burned & felt like sand. I tried an actual melting pot....nothing, microwave in 20 second increments...nothing, almost did a double boiler but by then it was burning, what do I need to do besides throw it out...
If u over cook it what do u use and what is it called
HELP!!! Why when I try to melt candy melts in either micro or doubler boiler is seizes. I make sure there is no water in the bowl
Hi! Here's a video on how to melt Candy Melts candy which might help: bit.ly/2KGGeKB If you're using microwave, make sure that it's on half-power.
What are the candy melts made of if not chocolate? I thought they were coloured/flavoured white chocolate but from the video that’s not right?
Hi Kaetrin, Candy Melts are a confectionery coating and unlike chocolate, they don't need tempering. Here's a video where we explain what Candy Melts are and how to melt them: ua-cam.com/video/qO9cboR-38Y/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
You hear a lot that candy melts don’t work as it is supposed too. Is this true. I honestly have trouble melting both in the micro and on the stove top 😢
T MM microwaving in smaller increments and stirring each time helps with making the icing smoother. Sometimes the colored ones can take a little longer due to the dye but just be patient. If the candy melt start to stiffen, adding a little bit of oil helps (vegetable oil, coconut oil, or melted shortening. Doesn’t need much). Hope this helps!
I don't use candy melts. I just buy white chocolate baking bars and color them with food coloring gel. Tastes much better.
@@LEXUS11550 could you please explain, how to use white chocolate
How do I slightly thin out the mixture for cake pops?
Adrianna Berlingerio paramount flakes or shortening
Can I use for mini cake topping?
Hi, Dan! You can use Candy Melts to make candy cake toppers like this one: bit.ly/2HunFFF
Perfect! So I can make nut clusters!
Is it bad to eat these like chocolate? Cause i have been.
Can a pretzle rob fit into the candy melt? Or do I need to coat it slanted?
If the consistency is similar to royal icing, has anyone tried to pipe it directly onto a cookie?
It says so in the video. 3:30
But how do they taste???
Idk 😬😅
They taste fine!
Sweeter than normal chocolate, not bad at all. Kids def won’t mind
@She Pisces - You're better off buying a baking white chocolate bar and adding food coloring gel yourself. It's not that sweet and it's real chocolate.
To me it taste very neasty
Do candy melts have a taste??
Nitiksha Sharma i just bought some and to me they taste neasty so i went to buy real chocolate
I think candy melts taste similar to chocolate, a lot of people like the taste and I'm sure a lot of people don't. Either way, the main reason they're used so often is because they're so easy to work with. Actual real chocolate is incredibly difficult to temperate properly. It takes lots of skill, practice, and PATIENCE (lol) to learn how to properly melt and use real genuine chocolate. That's why most people would rather use candy melts than deal with the hassle of melting chocolate, even if they think chocolate tastes better.
If I were you, I'd pick up a small bag of candy melts just to taste it and see if you like it. If it tasted THAT bad, it wouldn't be so popular, you know?
It tastes like white chocolate i love it i can design n dip cake pops with ease and nobody even knows
Yay, I'm the first comment
How about they... Geeze lady
