I've watched about a dozen of chocolate melting videos in here before I found this one. Why didn't I found you first before I've WASTED my time watching those others????
THIS VIDEO IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT CHOCOLATE MELTING!
Thank you so very much for passing the tips, the do's an the do not's on in a very professional way! Gotta go now and subscribe to your channel!
That is exactly how I feel too! Where has this been for all of my "what to do with chocolate" life. She knows her stuff

I feel the same way, I'm saving this video!
Here is how to make your own candy melts
1. Break the chocolate into its pieces. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave (I needed ca. 1 minute for 200 g of broken down white chocolate). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Add food color until you have the desired shade. A note about color: because white chocolate is not white, but really more yellow consider that in your color choices. It is easy to make teal and green tones that already have a hint of yellow in it. I tried purple and it turned out very dark because I needed a lot of food color to get out of the brown phase. Next time I will try to make pink ones.
3. Fill the colored chocolate into a one way piping bag. Once all the chocolate is filled in completely, cut the tip to make a small opening.
4. Start piping little dollops onto the parchment paper.
5. Wait until completely dry before moving them into an air tight container or gift bag.
I've seen candy melts at walmart, they're only $2.50 and they have an entire section for cake decorating!
I tried those, not very good.
Hi!!! Can you please tell me,which online shopping app has this different colour chocolate candies????? I live in India and trust me I've never seen these all here so please help me to find it!
@@jenphilip6299 hey if you live in india then you can actually but compound chocolate in baking stores or in amazon.in. These are basically the same things but it is coloured. You can buy food colours and colour them. It will be a lot cheaper this way. Candy melts might be a bit costly and not easily available but if you by compound chocolate you could buy one whole kilogram of chocolate for like 300 rupees as I saw online but it might be even lower in stores. You can search up hindi videos about compound chocolate and many tell you the pricings and where to find them.
Yes I just watch somebody use olive oil for the dipping and that’s why I’m here with you because I was looking for chocolate that sets not runs thank you💐✌️🇺🇸
Not sure if You can find it, as it has disappeared around me, but the Baker's brand of baking chocolates White Chocolate. This is the best melting I have found! Do not need to add any shortening. I have a couple cases of it on hand! I use it for coating and for my wonderful white chocolate butter cream frosting!
I think you should try making bride and groom cake pop tutorial! Thumbs up so she can see! :)
My sister works at a grocery store here in Ohio and I went into the baking section and I had never seen Wilton candymelts in person before I saw about 40-45 different colors in the aisle and they were only 3$ I also saw so many Wilton things I was so so so so so happy!
For the Wilton candy melts I know they don't always melt super thin but if you add vegetable oil to it (once it's already melted) it's thins it out perfectly and does not change the taste! I use that trick all the time for when I make cake pops! Trust me I know because one time I melted a whole bag of the candy melts and added water because I thought it would thin it out but it just made a big thick mess!
THANK YOU!
$8.99-$12.99 for candy melts?!
Come on, even the $2.99 here in the U.S. sounds like too much!
How expensive is living in Australia?!
Depends on where you live in Australia. I live in Perth near the country and it costed about 695,000 dollars for my 15 acre property. In the city it's still quite expensive
Kelly Moore So the countryside is cheaper where you are too?
***** i live in the us and $2.99 is high i get them for 1.99 so a little cheaper
But at the same time I think people earn more in Australia......
***** You guys have it great in the US... everything is dirt cheap
I'm so glad I found you!!! Melted chocolate has been my arched nemesis my whole baking life😞😠. You're super delightful, informative and charming as well!😄 You definitely have a new subscriber!!!!
For those baking addicts who live in Ireland, Home store and more is the place to go!!!!! You can get luster dust, candy melts, fondant moulds and tons more there!!!! Hope this is helpful!
MyCupcakeAddiction I've used coconut oil to make chocolate coating as well, and it works really well! It's a little bit of a healthier alternative to vegetable shortening.
+xbecreative76 I can't get vegetable shortening where I live, but we do have coconut oil. Is it as good in result of chocolate consistency? how much coconut oil I should use in a 300 gram chocolate melt?
I’m obsessed with the way you say powder….. 😂 Paawda
I live the new bright set and I Lube seeing you in the videos. Keep doing these for us as well as the internet tutorials
Always wondered how you looked. You're a pretty lady!
2:10 Wow that is so weird! There was a beloved supermarket chain called Woolworths in England until a few years ago, (we also called it Woolies!), when you mentioned it I nearly fell off my chair!
Woolworths in Australia is a bit different to the ones you have/had and England here they only really sell grocerie goods so fruit, meat, veggies, baking goods etc.
Yeah, I hear the two are different, but what a coincidence!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzpiyou.
You're just wonderful, Elise .^_^. Your videos, especially this series, give us no reason not to bake whatever our hearts desire!
Hi. You mentioned Ameri Color is a good food coloring, but I wonder which one; Liquid-Gel...or Gelpaste? also; does any of those choclate chips / candy melt need to be tempered? It doesn't look like it, but I still have to ask. :) Would love to get a responds on this. Thanks. :)
Instead of shorting or the uk equivalent do you know if coconut oil would work xx
Have you tried Almond Bark? It comes in big blocks, you just add a little shortening. It melts Very well and sets pretty fast, we always use it for Oreo balls or cake pops.
Wow I actually liked the video. A lot! I was also wondering how do you make a red velvet ganoche? I was just wondering because my friend she made a red velvet ganoche and right now she's in Florida. Thank you very much!
OMG thank you soooo much for these videos, i had used red food coloring which was liquid for the white chocolate and didn't know it was mess it up, I understand now lol i learned a lot, thank you :)
I love your videos will I be able to use the Nestlé white chocolate morsel to make chocolate lollipops?
I bought candy melts at Walmart for 2.50 in America.I think that you are very pretty.
You are so amazing. Your so well spoken and a pleasure to watch. Your impart your knowledge in a truly engaging fashion. Keep on doing what your doing and I can't wait for your next video.

if i were to add a drop of americolour gel into white chocolate would it still seize? i've heard it will, and i've heard it won't, but have you tried it?
I put vegetable oil in my candy melts and it tasted the same and it did set on my cake pops/cookie pops
Great video! Very helpful, but I tried using vegetable oil and it set in just a couple of seconds and didn't add any flavor.
Hi! thanks for all this valuable info! what about coconut oil? i replace shortening with it when im baking..... it doesn't alter the flavor. But for chocolate any idea if it will be a good replacement? it seats hard and needs to be melt just like shortening....... just wondering whats your opinion.

can I please ask if I can use butter instead of shortening, I will wait for your response
Hi how long does it take to melt chocolate......ive used wilton, herseys, nestle chocolate chips and it seizes no water gets in at all. Do you use cream
I'm in the U.S. and I was wondering if you could recommend a milk chocolate and dark chocolate for cake pops. should I use the nestle morsals in those as well?
This was so helpful, thank you very much!!!
I use crisco vegetable oil and it works perfectly
Thaaaannk you so much for the info...Really helpful!! I tried using Hershey's white chocolate chips and they do not melt well...Great for cookies...etc but not for melting...I'm going to try Nestles one =)
Favz01 just add a little vegetable oil!
I know you mentioned that it's better to use shortening in the melting process but can I use coconut oil? coconut oil when cool is almost like the shortening but I was just curious if I could use that instead of going out and buying shortening.
I loved this video!! Thank you so much!
Has anyone got any idea of what brands of white chocolate are available and best for cake pop dipping in the UK? Also is vegetable shortening sold in the UK? I cant find it anywhere!
I loved this video you explained this very well thanks
Hi how far in advance can i make cake pops for a baby shower and how should i store them?
So, I've been using vegetable oil lately to thin my chocolate (I read it online somewhere...) and it's been working okay. Don't get me wrong, my cakepops are still a wee bit soft, but I've had some sitting at room temperature for a few days now and they're doing alright.. They also taste really good still. I was just wondering if you might know the reason why that is? Obviously the shortening would work better because (as you mentioned) it dries hard, but would Vegetable oil work in a pinch?
Hi Elise
I was wondering if there was anything in Australia similar to bisquick by the way your videos are the best!!!!!
Does solid coconut oil work well? I've mixed it with chocolate melts to create a health(ier) version of the old "magic shell" for ice cream.
In Australia, at Coles there are gel food colors that are very strong in color.
Helped so much. I was making chocolate dipped oreos and many sources (youtubers and websites) said that vegetable oil was fine. So I added just the smallest amount, and after everything set, I bit into it, and got the worst vegetable oil taste. xPPP I made 12 oreos, :( And they're all kinda too gross to eat.
Candy melts are available in the uk at hobby craft
Do Merkens candy melts expire? I bought a large amount of bags at wholesale and have been using them slowly. I'm asking because I've noticed that it doesn't melt nicely in the the microwave as it did when I first purchased them.
So you put the Shortening in while melting? Is this explained in next video? Thanks!
MyCupcakeAddiction hi i'm from the philippines what kind of chocolates are the best? Pls answeerrrrrre i usually melt chocolates but don't turn good quality so pls answer
I use liquids food colorings for my chocolate and it is fine
hi im from the UK England we don't have shortening in the UK but seeing your video it looks the same as lard that is a hard white block and when melted it melts like a clear liquid, we use this to fry things, so can I use that with the chocolate and also with the marshmallow fondant please. thank you Shirlie. :}
I use nestle when I make Oreo balls ps you are sooo creative😊
how do you feel about making a ganache to dip cake pops in?
Wait, do you live in the US and moved from Australia or are you visiting?
she visited the US to film this, but lives in australia currently.
Hi, I tried with the icing gel color of wilton and I find out that the color of my candy melt is not even, it is like a grainy color (small tiny dots). So I guess that is why there is the candy colorant of wilton right?
As for the americolor is it like gel americolor? I cannot find any here and no candy wilton color either, I will search online to buy so just please let me know if it is call candy gel wilton colorant and gel americolor colorant?
Wow! I learnt alot. Thank you!!!!!!
I add vegetable oil to the Wilton candy melts and they still set and the taste doesn't change!
Have you had any luck with natural colors? My daughter is allergic to artificial dyes and I'd like to be able to use a natural color. I'm trying to make a bright yellow.

I use the oil based color dye or gel by Americolor, and I feel they have an after taste, even if I add only a little bit
Thank you I really needed to know how to do that
