Newcastle is my home. I have lived in both Durham and Newcastle. I love both places and am very proud to have chosen the extremely gorgeous North East as my permanent home.
Another great video. What a Great historical place with amazing buildings, mixed with the modern quayside. Newcastle always reminds me of the greatest TV show of all time, with the dry geordie wit....Auf wiedersehen pet...
It's a great video of Newcastle it brings back happy memories for me when I worked on the railway and worked trains over the King Edward Bridge and high level Bridge. In the 70s.
Thank you! It truly is an amazing place, you really need to visit grey street - the home of the theatre royal. The neo classical buildings of the curved street are amazing!
Newcastle is one of the best cities in the world and Cross country trains are bringing back their direct trains from Oxford to Newcastle so it’s going to be so easy to get there on a direct train now
@@Justlookin958 You need to have a word with the TV producers, they never show Newcastle like that, even in the more modern shows. Doing you a diservice.
@@peterhodgson2581 You're absolutely right. The whole of the north suffers from the 'it's grim up north' syndrome I'm afraid and stereotypes are hard to throw off. And I think some northerners play up to it a bit too. I'm a geordie but have lived in Manchester for a number of years now and only recently I took a visitor from Essex around the city centre and she was amazed by more or less everything - the bars, the restaurants, the cafés, the buildings, the vibe on the street, the open squares, the trams ..... I think she was expecting Coronation St.
Lovely video. I’ve been in love with Newcastle, NUFC, and the colorful and friendly Geordie’s since the late 70’s when my dad took me across the pond to visit relatives. And, it’s been a trip I’ve taken every other year since. The city has changed so much since then (think the Winter of Discontent) but the resilient town has somehow prospered and never lost its warmth. Cheers to you for making the video. And whilst I loved the soundtrack…I was hearing Big River in my head.
Another great Video Thanks. Seen things i never seen before even though i lived there for many years...must have been walking around with my eye blind shut. Amasing very interesting.
Wow Thank you SO MUCH for showing me where my English ancestors came from. What a great gift you gave me today. I think you're correct, Newcastle seems like it has a lot of "happy" people. I can see why!!! Love to view more of your tours, Thx again!
nicely filmed man, sometime i get motion sickness at jumpy walks : ) this was smooth with a great soundtrack quayside went from an industrial working place to one of the nicest places in town been there from early 60's to now, i seen all the changes which makes me appreciate all the work planners and architects have done to make this place a pleasure there also a Sunday market which is worth a look
I remember the Sunday market in the 1970s (not a nice area then in fact as a single woman to ge avoided) and there was a guy who wore a huge turban and shouted out about his home wares on his stall in a thick Brummy accent saying things like ‘every thing is so cheap because Ive stolen it ! There was also a run of steep steps straight out of Dickens called Dog Leap Stairs
Love Newcastle upon Tyne and the geordie accent 😁, it's only a 40 mins drive from where I live in the North east. Love going there for a day and go on a shopping spree. I know the route to the RVI in my head now when the hubby has to go there for meds review.
Wow! Fantastic video 👏🤩 Loved every second of it. Newcastle is a great place to explore! One of my favourite cities! Really enjoyed the walk... and what a beautiful day! ☀️😎 Last time I was there, it was cloudy and rainy 😂. Thanks for the great tour! 🙌
It makes me think of my time at the university in the mid 1970s where Scottish and Newcastle brewery subsided the student bars and beer was 14p a pint !
Was my first time in Newcastle (apart from for football!) was very impressed - lovely place. Got another Newcastle video coming that shows the main city streets and it's fab!
Looks very nice, ... you asked what Newcastle reminds of.. I can only say the 2012 film 'Unconditional'.. starring Christian Cooke.. as it was filmed there.. not for the genteel viewer, quite offbeat.. lots of views of the bridge area though, and local nightlife.. much of the 'action' takes place in an apartment in one of those blocks just down the river from the bridge.. I like what you've filmed though, it gives a positive image, which is good..
Great video! This is my hometown. I think you get used to living close to the city centre however seeing this video makes me really appreciate the town more. There is so much to do and see, and this video probably didn't even cover half of it! Looking forwards to more uploads. Subbed 👍
Fantastic footage of Newcastle! If you're a fan of local markets, you should definitely check out the Quayside Market. I recently did a walk-through. I love it’s lively atmosphere and diverse stalls.
Not quite as magnificent as my beloved Humber Bridge....but a glorious old bridge all the same. Not quite made my mind up about the Millenium one though. Big thank you for your walks.
What is the name of the music at the start of this video please. I’ve gone through the 28 songs on the spotify playlist and cannot find it. Many thanks
The Tyne is tidal, so its continuously picking up silt and sand from the beach. That's why it sometimes looks really muddy. This used to confuse me as a child, because I had memories of if looking both clear and murky 😅
I'm slightly disappionted that the video doesn't feature someone going through parking ticket machines for forgotten change before turning to the UA-camr asking for 50p.
Population of about 280,000, definitely smaller than most well known cities. It's only bigger than all the small ones that are I to "cities" because they're towns with cathedrals, as well as Oxford, Milton Keynes, Middlesbrough, Dundee, Sunderland etc
The City it's self isn't large but there is nearly a million people live in the Tyneside conurbation. London is the only city in the UK with a 'big city feel' IMO.
It's a university city, what did you expect 🤣🤣 NU literally has a campus in MALAYSIA lol. I'm looking forward to going to NU this year, it's going to be amazing meeting people from different cultures .... maybe prove to unwitting racists like yourself and so many other people I know :( that white English people are not superior:)

Hi June yep Newcastle is a lovely city do you support Newcastle united
I'm so proud to live here!
I love this - most places I go you get people moaning about their home city. Great to hear someone proud of theirs!

Sting, of course!!!! Thanks for the fantabulous tour!🥰😄💖✨🌈🌞❣️🧜♀️😘
Sting! Ahh I forgot to give him a mention in this one! I’ve got another Newcastle video coming - will try and remember to namecheck him in it
