I'm glad you figured out what was causing the interference that was causing your signal issues. But this would still concern me that if I took HS900 anywhere that had similar signals in the area, that my drone might be affected. Not a bad drone, but I think for the price you could find something better. Great review, and thanks for sharing Ryan.
@@RonaldBrown59 absolutely! You are better off buying a mini 3 standard. There's also public WiFi at that park so that may be why the signal strength remained weak despite it working much better with my mic off. Marcos also told me he got much better range with his phone on airplane mode.
Nice thorough review Ryan. I did notice the micro shakes in the video, and the focus is a bit soft for my taste. I'd say it's the best camera I've ever seen on a Holy Stone drone though.
@@IdahoQuadcopter thanks Marcus and agreed though I do think the 720R is close. When it works well it is also a good drone with some nice features though since it is Wi-Fi based it isn't ideal plus the 720 series is notorious for having issues so no doubt that 900 is the best HS drone to date
Great review its 400 pounds here in the uk that's quite a lot of money the fimi mini 3 is a 100 pounds cheaper i did have break up problems with the fimi tho over 500 metres .Thanks
I very nearly bought this last week but went with the m4p because i didnt think i could trust this product. If this video was a week earlier things may have been different.
I would also add, along with your DJI mic, that you were standing under that pavilion which can also cause interference. And I noticed you mention in another comment about your phone in Airplane mode. I fly with an old non-service phone in APM. I've been flying this drone for over a month now and I have had zero connection issues when flying in an open area. I have also had it out up to 2500 ft but returned after I lost VLOS. In sport mode w/no video I get about 15 min per battery. Stable mode w/video, I get about 20-23 min per battery.
Yeah this drone seems to be picky because I never have to turn on Airplane mode with any of my other drones. I was not standing inside the pavilion while I was flying so that was definitely not a factor. It's a good drone but overpriced. It's not as you as my DJI Mini. The final I has some micro vibes that you never see in a DJI. Also, I just picked up a mini 3 standard for $299 at Costco. The HS900 is around $400 which is way too expensive. The Mini 3 beats the HS900 in every aspect for $100 less
It depends on the mic. I used a wired mic for years which won't ever have problems. This is the first time I've had my wireless mic cause an issue with a drone.
Holly stone this is a good drone but you need to take this drone put a touch screen controller to it give 2 battiers an this drone will be a DJI threat thats real talk
@@RDsRCReviews so you telling me that DJI is the only drone company that has the ability to make a drone an connect a touch screen controler an threw in 2 batterys an it cost under 1500 dollars
@@JohnSmith-qn3tc Only DJI and Autel and my Mini 3 with the touchscreen remote cost me $400. Would be around $460 with 2 batteries. There are some budget brands I'm seeing on Aliexpresss that are offering a touchscreen remote but the remotes have to suck because the drones are awful. Holy Stone can and will do it but I guarantee it'll cost more than the DJI equivalent.
@@jawnfit6728 DJI Killer???? That's a question and the answer is a big fat NO! It's not even close to DJI though a lot of people think it is. Also my DJI wireless mic was interfering with the drone. When I stopped using my mic the drone's range was much better. Maybe think about what question marks mean first and also watch the entire video before leaving silly comments.
Man holy stone drones are Crap. And God forbid you have to change a motor. You have to tear the drone down completely, [seriously], and then you better have excellent vision and a masters degree in Soldering in tight places. Just out a video on replacing a motor, sheesh . Hope your a precision soldered. QQn

Really good quad, I like the camera quality and very nice job Ryan.
@@gdhall5311 it's the best Holy Stone drone by far. It's no DJI but it's still really good. Biggest problem though is it is simply too expensive imo.
@@RDsRCReviews I totally agree with the price being too high.

The m4p is far superior so you won't regret that decision except for the cost lol
