We were at the evening portion of the St George Potluck Testimony picnic. Elder Hatch shared an unforgettable testimony. It was sincere and heartfelt. There was great power in his words. His countenance radiated the joy of one who has personally experienced change through the Atonement of Christ. He is a humble young man and the Lord will do incredible things with him and his fellow missionaries as they rely on the Holy Ghost to guide them in Lubbock, Texas!

God bless you on your mission, Elder Hatch! My cousin lived in Lubbock and she loved it there. I'm sure you will come home loving the people you serve. That is why Jesus asks us to serve others because it helps bring out love for others. You should talk with David when you return.

Love to Lubbock, that is where I went to college, met my wife and we had our first child. Some great people in Lubbock.
My mum grew up in Plainview.

I wanted to add even if you feel like you don't find the one you are still planting a seed with everyone you talk to.

Very informative. We can speak with the authority of God, but we have to remain humble as well, we can't be conceited about it. Can't wait to see your interview of him.

      Yes,
Humility is the key ingredient to serve. Jesus washed His Apostles' feet to teach them humility. Those men who had bickered and fought about who was best and who would be on Jesus' right hand in heaven hardly got along. By the time, though, when Pentecost came, they became humble enough to be effective.
Today, the living Apostles continue forward in humility and as an institution have only become better at the selflessness that held back their previous counterparts.

For a Protestant critique of the Romans Road see N.T. Wright's "The Day the Revolution Began".
Note that the Church of Christ grew out of the same movement Sydney Rigdon was a pastor in.

    The Apostles of Jesus also had some difficulty as some saw them as to young... 1st Timothy Chap. 4 vs 12 ;
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
    13. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
    14. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
    15. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
    16. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

    As for "Elder"
You might say "I dont make God's rules but I know He asked for His missionaries to be called Elders and Sisters even if not literally so"
    Leading them to ask
"Know? How could you know that?"

I remember when President Hinkley came to my mission. We were taught by Elder Amado to think of ourselves as "small 'a' apostle".

      Yes.
Becoming a full-time missionary for two-years is "an apostolic calling."
