Long-time TC watcher here! Always love the non-urban and "roads-less-travelled" features of places in Japan, far from its concrete jungles. I hope you could do videos on places that are just as pretty but can be accessed by people on wheelchairs or limited mobility.
The best part of traveling is food. Food on the fly, sit down food, take out food, street food, mall food, indoor food, outdoor food; did I mention snacks? Loved the pit stop in the café and shop. Would loved to have see you all snack on some bean pastries in the mountains. Or for Jordan, a bag of crisp.
All I kept thinking throughout this was "OMG Sharla looks so cold, I feel so bad for her!" Seems like you three each have such fun, distinctive personalities, which made for a fun video. Your hot pot looked amazing.
I can't believe Alex filmed this video without gloves... Alex sugoi!!!! Towada in summer was so pretty with koke (moss) but winter is sooooooo nice too desuneee!!
so nice to see sharla, sarah, and jordan braving the elements, eating some good food, and doing some nice shopping also seeing that shrine in winter and at night was so cool since you don't often get to see either
Love the relaxed vibe of this video. I've totally done the maple syrup on snow during the winter time and it's awesome! That "dragon breath" bit got me, haha. Also, I really hope Sarah get's the chance to lick an icicle.
Awesome video guys! I really enjoyed that last part with the Festa Luce at night, I bet it had a very special atmosphere with the lighting and the snow... I'm looking forward to more of your cool content. Greetings from Mexico!
Is it possible, that Jordan does not feel coldness? 😄 His Jacket is as thick as a paperbag, and he EVEN HAS IT OPEN! Man I am freezing by looking at him...
Where I lived in california ( about 20 miles west of I-5 on the grapevine) we’d g set a ton of snow! The best part was an hour drive and you could be at the beach and escape it... now living in Washington state ( northeast corner) there’s no quick escape! 😂
the more i see, the more i think Aomori will be my first stop if i ever manage to somehow make it to japan. and while it was cold, it was balanced out by the beautiful scenery, i'm sure. (though your feet and hands probably frigging enjoyed being back inside a warm building after filming lol)
Living in Florida, the land of perpetual sunshine and heat, an exploration of snow is a great treat! Love to see you three together, it's like traveling with a bunch of college buds. Who brought the cold pizza?
That is so beautiful...a winter wonderland. Love the frozen waterfalls. The maple on the snow was also done in Massachusetts. We would collect icicles and pretend to use them as magic wands and used them for play cooking with them as a kid. Lots of fun in the snow...making igloos and snow tunnels. Love all your videos...you all have so much fun together exploring beautiful interesting areas. Love your veggie food Sharla. I've been a vegetarian vegan for about 30 years. Love learning about the history and culture, like kami.
That looked cold, yet beautiful! Y’all talking about eating the snow made me want some Snow Cream (snow ice cream). My friends mom used to make it for us when we were little and it is delicious!
So pretty aaaah! and heck yeah eating/licking icicles is definitely a thing!! we did it on the regular as kids. ..............of course you have to be careful of where you eat snow from tho lol 😬 also, Jordan, not only does your afro look cute as heck covered in snow but yep I'm definitely envious of the insulation... can confirm that even if long hair covers your ears a bit it's pretty useless for actually keeping your head warm! ❄❄❄
Lol I've been watching you since long before I came to Japan so it's so weird to see everyone coming to my town in these videos lately 😂 I'm here for it though, Towada is the best!! Looks like it was freezing in that day haha
As someone from Northern Ontario, where we do get this much snow, we've all licked icicles and eaten snow as kids BUT you stop once you are old enough to think about all the gross microscopic stuff that's in it :/
for amazake, i think koji is what's often used to ferment the rice. there is a very similar drink/porridge in china, and depending on the region, it is called jiuniang or laozao, which is the recipe im using here. you need to steam sticky/sweet rice using a proper steamer (rounder grains of rice have higher starch & sugar content, which is good for the yeast !), and after the rice cools enough that it's warm to the touch, you crumble up and add a specific kind of yeast that comes in a ball form (a rice wine starter) and mix the rice and yeast up well, then store it in an airtight jar. the jar needs to stay somewhere warm with no light for... an indeterminate amt of time lol you have to just keep checking ! the rice:yeast ratio is still a work in progress lol i think 2 cups of rice to 1,5 balls of yeast... ? at close to two weeks, quite a lot of liquid will form, and bubbles too from the yeast eating all the sugars in the rice. too much yeast and it will be very sour and taste strongly of alcohol !! though you can mitigate this later on by adding sugar when it's done fermenting, when you boil off the alcohol and let it simmer on the stove. we often eat it with sweet rice balls, tangyuan !
Can you pleas make a video about how disabeld people live in Japan or if it is possible and how the infrastructures are for them. I would be interested in this topic.
Yeah snow day what's that xD More like sweat your ass off day ! I still think that we here in Australia should let primary & high school students stay home when it's roasting hot ! Cos growing up in the 90's we were lucky if there was a ceiling fan that worked in every classroom and we would cook ! Knowing my HS i went to, they are probably still like that and maybe they do let them stay home idk... God if only it snowed ! This is beautiful !!!
So beautiful, but it looks like it would have been so cold to film in. Maybe Sharla's part of Canada is over by Vancouver? It's way more temperate in the Pacific NW compared to, say Toronto. I second the use of Sorel boots, though for me it's more for rain/mud because of those gentler PNW temps. ^^;
@@christophersummers1939 oh, nice. My spouse, the PNW local, took a ferry up there back in the day. Some day I'll ride one of the ferries or cross a border when it's not ... plague times. :v
Welcome to Japan’s winter wonderland! ❄️ Which spot would you like to visit in Towada? Let us know!

I’m remembering how cold it was watching this back haha. Such a fun trip though!!! Hope we can go on more together🤩✨
I FELT ALL OF YOUR PAINS THROUGHOUT, haha. Awesome video ❄
Maybe some snow / winterised shoes for extra warth next time... 🤔
Thanks for joining us Sharla ❄️❤️ We’re looking forward to many more trips in 2022!!
@@TokyoCreativePlay would be neat to see more Emma (Tokidoki) and Sharla collabs, for sure
All I kept thinking throughout this was "OMG Sharla looks so cold, I feel so bad for her!" Seems like you three each have such fun, distinctive personalities, which made for a fun video. Your hot pot looked amazing.
Sarah is the very definition of chaotic energy. 😂😂😂
Music in this video was very pleasant and soothing.
I can't believe Alex filmed this video without gloves... Alex sugoi!!!! Towada in summer was so pretty with koke (moss) but winter is sooooooo nice too desuneee!!
Jordan, that Afro is all the way Alive. Great Job!
Can we appreciate how good that day-night cut at 12:01 was?
"Sarah, do not lick the National Heritage icicle"
I think i laughed way more than i should've
Man it was super cold but adventuring around Towada with Sharla and Sarah was super fun!!
Jordan!!! You're such a lit eye candy. Plz make more videos!
I know I'm very late but I would like to retroactively give you a headband and all three of you, gloves! Poor cold people!
TY for your' video brother!
I love Sarah’s energy she’s so great 🤩
so nice to see sharla, sarah, and jordan braving the elements, eating some good food, and doing some nice shopping also seeing that shrine in winter and at night was so cool since you don't often get to see either
Snow flurries on Jordan's afro is cute to me for some reason. haha
素晴らしい十和田湖の冬景色
撮影、ご苦労様、有難うございました
have a good time in japan
we all wish we could be there
"If you enjoy chunky drinks" Sarah I can't 😂
"Sarah do not lick the national heritage ice" is epic 😋❄
Love the relaxed vibe of this video. I've totally done the maple syrup on snow during the winter time and it's awesome! That "dragon breath" bit got me, haha.

This looks like an amazing place to visit no matter what season! Loved the waterfalls and the nighttime illuminations!
It's such an amazing area, we hope you can visit Towada sometime too! ❤❄

Thank you for the look at this lovely winter wonderland! And Sharla looks like she really needed another hoodie!
salute to you guys also to everyone behind the camera! though its really cold y'all managed to finish this content🙌 sending love💕
Yaas! We sure do love & appreciate Alex ❤

"You cannot lick the National Heritage icicles!"
Wowww the Jinja covered in snow looks absolutely breathtaking!!! Looks cold, but take care and be sure to warm up in onsen when you get back!!
Moving to California two years ago, I SO miss the snow. So I am so happy to see this lovely snow day!! Thank you
Thanks for enjoying the video!! 😁Have a nice day!

You guys are a bundle of Happiness 😊. This was so much fun to see!
Sharla is such a suited host for this video! Go TC team! 💪
3:53 Did Sarah memorize the script? hehe
Wow! Towada looks so beautiful, but I bet it was even colder than it appears on camera! Thanks for the fun video, and stay cozy TC crew!!!
I wanna try the apple wine!!!

Sharlaaaaaaa
Growing up, we definitely put vanilla extract in snow and it was so delicious!
Yesssss
Yes! Snow cream. Also we put the Hawaiian Punch concentrate on it... I don’t think they make that stuff anymore ( it was the early 80’s 😂)
That place looks like fun and also looks really cold.
We used to take icicles off the side of the house and chew on them like carrots.
As a Floridian you all still look under dressed. I would be the little brother from A Christmas Story movie. BRRR!
My man fro is looking like a cupcake with powered sugar on it. Great video, T.C. squad!
festa luce looks very cool / pretty
14:21 thanks for answering the question that was on my mind throughout the video haha loving the afro power! 😂
Very snowy indeed.
"Do not lick the national heritage" - new TC motto? 😂
it's ok Sarah, you're not alone, i used to eat icicles as well growing up
To be fair, snow like this is uncommon in the UK so I'm really envious when I see videos of Japan just blanketed in it.
Ah this snow looks like heaven, it’s scorching hot today in SA🥵…love the vlog🌸🤗
Liking icicles is part of Sarah's German heritage - I did that too as a kid :)
When it's snows in Norway, we're happy it stopped raining XD
My husband enjoys taking walks out in the snow with a glass of bourbon. When he wants ice, he'll use an icicle.
Hey, I LOVE that idea! Unfortunately, no icicles in Sydney (usually, haha)
Jordan's whole vibe and outfit is great! Would love to see more of him 🥺💕
Sharla fanboy here! ♥️🇵🇭

Sooo PRETTY!! But looks soooo COLDDD 😂 Great video you all!!!
Good job Jordan. I feel like you've really settled in to your presenting style and you're rapport with your fellow presenters is great 👍
Eating icicle is a thing in latvia amongst kids. It is a thing, can confirm
Who was behind the camera for this one? Hopefully they were bundled up!
I love the way Jordan talks, his voice and accent are so relaxing and nice ❤️
Such a great video!! Love you guys so much!! 🥰
with enough snow on it, jordan's afro would make him look like he's on spaceball one. keep firing, jordan!
Just as pretty in the snow as in the sunshine... but that's enough about Sharla and Sarah. 😂

WOOOHOOO I LOVE TC
Maple syrup on snow is the most Canadian thing I've ever heard of...also sounds pretty good lol
Okay but did she ever get to nom an icicle? (A non heritage one lol)
Who needs a beenie when you have Jordan’s hair.
all of the stuff in the shop looked so cool - would love to see more of jordan
Agreed bring back Jordan and it looked so pretty with the snow though I die a little bit inside in the cold lol
Can you pleas make a video about how disabeld people live in Japan or if it is possible and how the infrastructures are for them. I would be interested in this topic.

I haven’t seen sworn in almost 40 years. Also I have never been this early to a video.
When i first saw this it said uploaded 55 seconds ago. I was like wtf is happening today lol
Jordan doesn't need a knit hat with all that hair!
Australian: Do you ever just lick an Icicle?
Canadian & Brit: ... whut?
Oh Jordan, you have the best quips: "DO NOT LICK THE NATIONAL HERITAGE!"
😍😍😍🕺🏽🕺🏽
Pfft. Here in the middle of Canada, I've had one snow day caused by a once in a 100 year blizzard. 🤣
Oh hey it’s snowing where I live too!
3:53 for all the lip readers out there, thanks to sarah you'll have a stereo experience
whoop whoop
Yes
Sarah felt she was in a safe space and instantly felt judgement from the others over licking icicles lol.
Hope you guys pair up with Quinlan from GoNorthJapan one day!

Jordan gives off the happiest Vibes. Put him in more videos.
that's a fkn awesome afro
Did any Australians look at Jordan's snow-covered hair and think of lamingtons?
So cold
Oh yeah that is just Jordan's hair, not wearing a knit cap even when freezing cold and snowing!
Jordan always reminds me of Final Fantasy 13 Sash Katzroy.. and those who know Final Fantasy 13 know where litttle yellow Chocobo is hiding..
Meanwhile in Minnesota and Wisconsin if it hasn't snowed 17cm nothing is going to close.
Jordan out here with Gordon Ramsay level food reviews~! I was waiting for him to say "stunning".
When will you be recording and editing in 4k? It'd a shame to see this content In standard HD.
