    Nathan, I just had an oddball happen to my E39 (that I've fixed now) that you might like to know about in case someone else encounters it and asks about it.
    Ever since last fall, my 2001 M54-E39 has had it's AC doing some weird stuff.
    The defrosting blew hot air and defrosted the windshield just fine, but the outlets that use the stratification wheel mechanism were more or less "working as intended".. that being;
    By turning it between the hot&cold settings, it went from relatively cold air at the hot setting, to noticeably colder air (with audible change in the air-sound, so making it obvious that it worked when turning the stratification wheel) with the cold setting, but the thing was.. the coolant levels and engine temps were 100% fine and as they should be, thermostat was working perfectly and the heater control-valves (mine has the dual type) were in perfect condition as well.
    The way I fixed this oddball was literally just to drain ALL the coolant and refill it (and bleed it obviously), and suddenly it worked again. My hypothesis for why it happens, is it might be something completely odd, but simply draining 11-some quarts of fluid out and replacing it fixed it, so maybe there was back-pressure or something holding the heater control valves closed.

    Nice video!! Lots of good information. I have a question. I changed the turbos on my 535xi but I’m having issues with the o rings for the turbo lines. Can I use the black o rings from harbor freight? Green ones? Or purple ones from Amazon?? What’s the difference?? Please help! Thanks!

    I was told by the last owner of my 530i that there was a oil leak but didn’t find any leak. I drove for a few days n notice a little smoke when I popped the hood but not noticeable while driving. Going up a big hill one day and I got transmission malfunction on the screen📺and the car stopped for a second then worked perfectly fine going up. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
    I was thinking a oil pump could be leaking .

    Is the water pump job easier on a 2 wheel drive E60?

    Those ac lines suck to remove from the condenser... I had to drill the peg out from above. Otherwise it would take 10-15min to change a condenser.
