Exactly... The Council of Nicea... Men... Roman men... Greek men... Egyptian/Ptolemy men.. got together and created a story that all middle easterners and Mediterranean peoples could relate too... Hence Jesus has the characteristics of about 15 previous deities mixed up into one and attached to the Jewish Abrahamic/Babylonian cult.
My presentation argues strictly that Jesus Christ, who is a historical person, was fully God and is portrayed to be God even in the beginning of the Hebrew Bible. There was no Egyptian overlap or influence, nor is Jesus someone who bears characteristics of “fifteen different deities”. Jesus Christ actually does not fit the picture of most cultural deities which were worshiped throughout the East and West from around 80 B.C-70 A.D. I utilized many Jewish sources in order to argue my point but I am not sure which Greek, Roman, and Egyptian sources you’re alluding to that connect Jesus Christ with a mythical fable? There is a nearly unanimous consensus among Greek and Roman historians, along with modern scholars of history, that Jesus Christ was a real person in history. It would be your job to provide evidence for the counterclaim if your argument is that ‘a figure called “Jesus” was attributed characteristics of many different deities by a group of men from at least three different civilizations’
More importantly, the Senate passed an imperial decree in 326 allowing only canonical Christians to hold office. The Council formed Constantine's purge, making the faith the world's first ideological political party.
This is a really really good video. Thanks Clark for capturing and presenting it all so well. God bless in Jesus name!
