Love the look. How you highlighted the patina on the center board worked great, and filling the knot hole with hammered copper was sweet. I'm a little confused why you filled both ends with glued up blocks. I though you were going to cut/sand a profile into them or something and show off the end grain. Did I miss it?
Love your editing! So many things in this video... The pizza box dust collector was awesome and the amount of work on that knothole were astounding and shows your dedication.
Nice work. I love the details, like the board left unplaned and the copper plug cap. The joint construction is strong as you can get. Nice to see old material get repurposed and a new life.
It came out really nice! I think it will be a little bit heavy to carry in gigs and studios, with the rest of the gear (pedals etc). But it looks really durable! Thanks for sharing!
that was a really cool build and some sweet riffs at the end. I really enjoy your videos thanks for posting them, it's people like you and Jimmy that make UA-cam great!
Very nice. Can see the final product? Does the end of the guitar move around in the case much? I couldn't quite see if it were strapped down or not. Very awesome. Keep it up.
If I take nothing else away from this video it will be pizza box dust collection. Honestly though awesome build. Came from Jimmy's channel to you and I love everything I have seen so far.
Loved the video, and drooled over all the tools at your disposal, thought your skills were amazing, but mate! the weight of that case must be heavy? plus I did not think that handle could cope with the beating its going to get, and only one latch? otherwise AMAZING, and thank you.
Awesome build David! I love the stacked black wall idea, and it'll wear in beautifully and the icing on the cake is the brass topped knot hole! That'll patina nicely and set it off! Whenever I see giant lumber I grab it too. That wood you found looks really high quality, it's amazing what people throw out, but I am glad they do!
Absolute fantasticalism! You sir are the doo doo!.. Sorry. Was told on more than several occasions that I should keep my comments cleaner.. And I shall buy a case now. All I have is a drill, circular saw, and Dremel tool.
Very cool!! I liked it how you made it all with one beam! I also really like the dark old part in the middle of the case! Keep making :) greetings from Holland!
You do great work with brass n copper why didn't you add some brass numbers to the corners of the case ? Either way it looks great I like the leather on the inside 📐🔩😎🔨🎸
Dave the case is amazing,i really liked the copper knot patch cover, the reclaimed lumber, but where is the purple plush velvet padded lining :-) i really enjoyed the build, video, and the music thanks for sharing the process
Keep doing your own style of vids, that's why we sub to you. It's no secret that we found you through jimmy. I personally like your style. If I wanted to watch another diresta video I would just watch a diresta video. Keep em coming!!
Awesome work! PS -- was that the same pizza box, turned dust collection management, from the phone book build? PPS -- second on the props for the beard. The workshop isn't complete without one.
Geez that must weigh a ton!!! I haven't even finished watching this, but I'm appalled, it would take a trained Gorilla to carry this monster. I've worked wood for about 60 years now, and you do good work though I wonder why you haven't used your bandsaw and jointer more for getting the material in shape for the build. Resawing with the bandsaw is basic to preparing stock. I was chained to my table saw mentally for a long time until I learned how to make the Bandsaw work. A fellow could get by without the table saw entirely if he knows how to use the Bandsaw and a jointer properly. I still use the Table Saw a lot, I had devised about a dozen jigs to make it work. Gradually I ended up using the bandsaw more and more, using it and the jointer to make up panels, even quite thin ones, smoothing and leveling the panels with a sharp plane rather than my thickness planer gradually more and more. It looks like you have the tablesaw figured out, but you could do better and faster work by using your bandsaw and jointer more and the table saw less. I see that you use your bandsaw, but I wonder if you know that you can cut quite precise joints like dovetails with it that require little or no fitting. Free yourself from the chains of the tablesaw, you'll find that you will do better work.
Dude, you could totally fit an Orange Micro Dark Terror and a decent 10" speaker in that thing. Guitar case becomes combo amp when you take the guitar out. It can also double as a balcony for your houseboat.
that shit could survive nagasaki mate.....bit on the heavy side just by looking at it but all the same nice job...oh and loving the riffs and nice video editing .... :)
I didn't get how did you get a log. Could you show how a tree grows? I would like to see the whole process of making the case. Damnt. Half of the video you are doing but planks.
Love it!!! it looks amazing. I love how you splice the repetitive shots on the table saw to look like one continuous shot, jimmydiresta has something to gain there. Great sounding song at the end BTW.
thats a beautiful build but that has to be HEAVY...... I built my dj coffin as small as it could be with 1/2 ply and that thing is beast to drag from gig to gig.
once owned a gibson les paul that gave me back trouble due to its weight. mate a nuclear explosion cud go of nxt to that guitar case & there wouldn't be a dint in it. absolutely beautiful case...my only criticism is: I'd have decked it out with loads of inner material. man has to make sure when his baby is locked up, she's got comfort.
Salut. L'extérieur est très bien ! Si tu veux parfaire ton "tank" pour guitare alors il ne faudrait pas oublier une isolation thermique et un cousinage en mousse et ajout de "velvet" . L'intérieur est très pauvre en finition
Is that a guitar case or a shipping container? Just kidding! The knot thing was brilliant. This case would really would be the best means to transport a guitar in the hold of an aircraft.
DAVID, YOU WENT ALL OUT WHEN PUTTING THIS BOX TOGETHER,IT SHOULD NEVER COME APART. GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the look. How you highlighted the patina on the center board worked great, and filling the knot hole with hammered copper was sweet. I'm a little confused why you filled both ends with glued up blocks. I though you were going to cut/sand a profile into them or something and show off the end grain. Did I miss it?
Awesome build, David - my favorite so far. Love your style and your general approach to working with all kinds of materials. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you dig sir- thank you!
Beautiful case, David - and the knot hole was a lovely little detail.
Great work.
Thank you!
Great build David ! I like that you chamfered the edges of all the pieces. And you know how much I love copper !
Thank you brother !
I thought that Jimmy was an awesome builder. Now we know who really does all the work. Or maybe its just the tools. Great video and build.
Haha- thank you
Love your editing! So many things in this video... The pizza box dust collector was awesome and the amount of work on that knothole were astounding and shows your dedication.
@' show me something more than that .playa!statie up cripin.cuzz!ok®™
love it some very cool new shots in this
Thank you !... for not changing the locks yet
Very nice! I wish i had your talent and ofcourse the tools as well:-)
Very nice! I wish i had your talent and ofcourse the tools as well:-)
Thank you for making him make videos of his work!
Great build...and that pizza box reminded me of something my Father told me once. If it's stupid...but it works...then it's not stupid...lol
Josh Herzberger Murphy's Law of Combat #6. Your father is/was a wise man.
Mark Lindsay
Yep, I play cards with Mr. Murphy every Friday.
Thank you- it's just a storage case really.
I don't know how I missed this. Glad I came back for a look.
that was a really cool build and some sweet riffs at the end. I really enjoy your videos thanks for posting them, it's people like you and Jimmy that make UA-cam great!
The beautiful attention to a death metal guitar case is exquisite... in awe dude!
Thumbs up for the pizza box dust extraction port. Boom!
Worked great! Thanka
Great build. Thanks for all you do. Really liked the pizza box part and the leather work.
I'm glad you enjoy this stuff! Stay tuned. Thank you
Looks amazing--any idea what the wood is? Almost looks like fir or something; beautiful. I bet it's not as heavy as others have posited.
It looks great. But how much does it weigh?
Simon de rycke That's what I thought. It looks wonderful and weighs a lot.
+Simon de rycke He is playin Heavy Wood..
Very nice. Can see the final product? Does the end of the guitar move around in the case much? I couldn't quite see if it were strapped down or not. Very awesome. Keep it up.
It is always amazing to me what clean looking lumber you guys are able to coax out of a seemingly worthless charred hunk of debris.
Always a pleasure.
Cool man, thank you !!
hey man, awesome work. Would you recommend to do a hard case with balsa wood? Do you think it can work or not really?
Thanks in advance..
Very slick idea with the pizza box dust collector. Your guitar will be well protected in that case.
If I take nothing else away from this video it will be pizza box dust collection. Honestly though awesome build. Came from Jimmy's channel to you and I love everything I have seen so far.
The world's heaviest guitar case in the world
Google "redundancy"
That's such an awesome case. I bet it smells amazing! I want one!
Loved the video, and drooled over all the tools at your disposal, thought your skills were amazing, but mate! the weight of that case must be heavy? plus I did not think that handle could cope with the beating its going to get, and only one latch? otherwise AMAZING, and thank you.
Thats a cool piece . for storage , not for carrying around
Nobody is stealing this heavy guitar coffin 😁 great video 👍🏼
Awesome build David! I love the stacked black wall idea, and it'll wear in beautifully and the icing on the cake is the brass topped knot hole! That'll patina nicely and set it off! Whenever I see giant lumber I grab it too. That wood you found looks really high quality, it's amazing what people throw out, but I am glad they do!
Thank you very much!
F###KING BEAUTIFUL WORK! Great video and riff at the end!
Ha thank you, hard to make good noise with that little speaker.
I've never seen a knot hole plug like that. It looks awesome and adds a lot of character to the case!
It just came to me when the knot fell out- thank you!
Dude you can't make enough videos, we need more! I don't know how to play guitar but I'd still carry that thing around!
Haha! Thanks brother!
Absolute fantasticalism! You sir are the doo doo!.. Sorry. Was told on more than several occasions that I should keep my comments cleaner.. And I shall buy a case now. All I have is a drill, circular saw, and Dremel tool.
does the hinge stable enough for any tough situation?.. looks like too small for me.. but anyway this is amazing job.
Another great build!!! Wow.
I just discovered you UA-cam channel, awesome. You and Diresta are the best.
Cool! Thanks for watching and sharing ! I appreciate it.
love your editing its original and very cinematic dont stop, its your signature
CHEERS
Right on- I appreciate it- thankyou
+Deathlimbo87 couldn't agree more
super great looking case But .....what team of people do you have to carry it ?
Very cool!! I liked it how you made it all with one beam! I also really like the dark old part in the middle of the case! Keep making :) greetings from Holland!
Awesome thank you!
Love the look. Love the copper. Love the ending. Great job bud. Have a good trip!
Thanks brother! Hope to see you gentlemen soon
Great build, very inventive with the copper in the knot!
Thank you!!
Now you just need a custom built guitar to put in that case! Rock on!!!
Like the whole project, but the raw plank with the copper plug sold it. Great work David.
Thank you muddy
Pizza box dust collector and epic hair blowing reveal. I don't know how else it could get better lol. The Gods of Metal would be proud
Haha!! Right on thank you!
not gonna lie. i was hoping for a little more mmphff on the interior, but still a pretty cool case. this gave me a good idea!
Holy Kriste! You filled a friggin KNOT! Absolutely awesome.
Well put together build and video. Great job.
Thank you!
OK, you had me at the pizza box dust collection setup... clever!
Thank you!!
You do great work with brass n copper why didn't you add some brass numbers to the corners of the case ? Either way it looks great I like the leather on the inside 📐🔩😎🔨🎸
Thank you
That turned out great! Loved the palm sander cam too!
Glad you dig- thanks
up until now, on all of our european tours, guitar cases have been breaking from transport. this looks sturdy af!
Damn dude, that's one helluva guitar case.. love the copper accent! .. but just how much does that thing weigh? ..
the pizza box was ingenious. nicely done.
Just from the title, I know I'm going to love this video lol
Dave the case is amazing,i really liked the copper knot patch cover, the reclaimed lumber, but where is the purple plush velvet padded lining :-) i really enjoyed the build, video, and the music thanks for sharing the process
Didn't find any plush purple in the garbage this week. Thank you for sharing.
Nice job, very creative in the same ballpark as JD but definitely with your own style man. You guys make a great pair - pizza box cracked me up!
Cool- thank you!
Keep doing your own style of vids, that's why we sub to you. It's no secret that we found you through jimmy. I personally like your style. If I wanted to watch another diresta video I would just watch a diresta video. Keep em coming!!
Cool thank you, more to come
When is the album coming out?
p.s good stuff by the way!
Awesome work!
PS -- was that the same pizza box, turned dust collection management, from the phone book build?
PPS -- second on the props for the beard. The workshop isn't complete without one.
Haha- yes same box
Do you have tabs how to build that
Haa. Find burnt building with free wood!!
Awesome guitar case David! I am really enjoying your videos!!! I see Jimmy busting in for a cameo shot! Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the compliments! It's motivating.

What would yours and Jimmy's job descriptions be? Keep up the amazing work ;)
Dude, you could totally fit an Orange Micro Dark Terror and a decent 10" speaker in that thing. Guitar case becomes combo amp when you take the guitar out. It can also double as a balcony for your houseboat.
+Ryan Wilson hell yes. I park on it for now.
Bro..... This vid explains a LOT!!!!
Sick Axe, sick Case, sick licks, and awesome vid!
You play in a band? (Sorry, didn't sift through comments)
That's a great looking case sir, nicely done.
Thank you
Wow, what can't you do? Maker of all sorts, awesome photographer and now I see you also play the guitar. Great videos, thanks.
Cool! That's a high compliment- thank you for following my projects- appreciate the support !
what type of glue or epoxy do you and Jimmy use for the hinge trick
thanks
Damnit man, killer guitar case. Excellent video.
I appreciate that! Thanks
that shit could survive nagasaki mate.....bit on the heavy side just by looking at it but all the same nice job...oh and loving the riffs and nice video editing .... :)
Well done! Like the pizza box dust chute as well :)
Awesome video awesome build awesome playing
Thank you
Trollers... Great job, David!
liked so much, nice touches..a very strong-and a bit heavy stuff- perfectly assembled..waiting 4 the diy guitar xD
Cool man thank you, I like that idea.
Very cool case, you killing me with the pizza box.
Thanks it worked pretty well
I didn't get how did you get a log.
Thank you! I didn't have a good mic to record sound, but I'm looking to get one soon.
thats a beautiful build but that has to be HEAVY...... I built my dj coffin as small as it could be with 1/2 ply and that thing is beast to drag from gig to gig.

very cool and most of all solid case for that guitar! great video, keep up the good work!
Col, thank you!
Salut. L'extérieur est très bien ! Si tu veux parfaire ton "tank" pour guitare alors il ne faudrait pas oublier une isolation thermique et un cousinage en mousse et ajout de "velvet" . L'intérieur est très pauvre en finition
Awesom edit for this video! great time whatching it!
David you're my second favorite maker. Rock on!
Wow thank you very much!! That's an outstanding compliment- who's the first?
Jimmy of course
How much does this thing weigh?
Enjoyed this Video... thanks for your work!
Great work ! Nice honnest approach ! Thanks
Cool case, great shredding!
Love that drywall sponge tone.
Beautiful case. I like how you made it from a recycled charred beam.
Is that a guitar case or a shipping container?
Just kidding! The knot thing was brilliant. This case would really would be the best means to transport a guitar in the hold of an aircraft.
Great project and video!!!
looks pretty good, but must be very heavy?
I really enjoyed that. But I was waiting for the shot of you picking up the case or carrying it by the handle.
That's a good point I didn't get any shots, but it's very strong - through tannin- and strapped from the back with oak strip
Looks great. I didn't understand why you used a bunch of small pieces for the ends of the case
Pretty sure he wanted them to be all end grain
damnn.. you look like lamb of god guitarist man! love all your works!
Amazing, video and hand made work!
Espectacular!!!!!!!
Why didn't you put the locks on the top and bottom of the case?
master!! quedo espectacular.
Very nice case and video. Also I picked up that Nevermore in the background
