Heyy Guys! Thanks so much for watching this lil hammock viddy, I LOVE hammocking! ❤ I can’t believe it’s taken me 4 years of wild camping to try it. Just thought I’d let you know the camera settings for the night sky time-lapse in case you fancy trying it - this was in a fairly light-polluted area (bortle 5), so if you can get to darker skies, you’ll get much more impressive results. Anyhoo, they were exposure 13 sec / ISO 3200 / f2.8. This was 914 images shot consecutively on a Canon 5D MkIII with 16-35L lens, but you can use any camera that allows you to use manual settings. I was also using a tripod, remote shutter release and a lens warmer to prevent dew on the lens - gear list in description. Have a great day! Claire 🌿🐻
I have recently got into hammocks too , some tips i have been given are to get some whoopie slings from DD to make adjustments easier , make a gun shape with with your hand and the angle between the top of your thump and pointing finger makes the ideal 30 degrease angle your slings should be set too, make your head side 6 inch higher, when in hammock move your self so you are sleeping at a diagonal as this will make your back straighter so your not banana shaped, there is a really funny guy called Shug who is a hammock genius, i will post a link to his channel here ... ua-cam.com/users/shugemery
@@NeonFuxAlot An additional idea is to double up some Paracord and run that through each end of the hammock and then knot it to form a loop or ring which you can use an additional Carabiner on between joining the Whoopie sling, so that any rain water travelling down the sling will drip off the Carabiner rather than making it's way to the hammock. I will try that 6 inches higher at the head end thing... Usually just lay further up the head end and that seemed to be sufficient. Just wondering whether raising one end puts extra/unbalanced strain on one end of the hammock -Probably fine if you aren't a heavy weight. Cheers for the tips/link!
Hi Claire.. If it's any consolation I have been wild camping for over 16 years.. My first hammock trip was in 2008.. and just like you.. I love it!!!! 😍😍X
Beautiful images, beautiful music, stunning time-lapse sequences! Well done, m'dear! The Trangia is a great stove. So quiet and peaceful. It may not be as fast as an iso stove, but who's in a hurry anyway, right? Thank you, Claire, for another beautiful, peaceful moment in time! :)
Quality Claire. Glad you have discovered hammocks and the Trangia alcohol stove. Mint video again. Love checking in to see what you have been up to. Take care. Respect.
Thank you for uploading these videos Claire! I discovered the channel only recently and I can't even begin to put into words how relaxed they make me feel.
Something about your videos that just makes me feel relaxed and calm.. I always look forward to seeing your new adventures ☮✌ Congratulations on the 20k+
WoW your camera footage of the sky at night is amazing i I could watch that all day every day no problem Claire and now you are a hammock camper I'm looking forward to your next adventure even more than I normally do🤩 Lovely Claire🥰 Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou sharing your adventures with us❤❤❤👍👌🙂🤩🥰❤
Aw thanks Simon, loved seeing the Milky Way go over, was surprised it was visible actually with the light pollution. Loved the hammock too :D Thank you so much for watching :)
Don't be afraid to sew your own custom hammock. Dutchware has a lot of handy hardware/fabrics, and so does Ripstop by the Roll. It takes a little trigonometry to do the math building one with a integrated bug net (you cut a hexagon shape), but it's nothing too difficult at all. First one was a prototype, second a massive 12ft long and 6ft wide one for my gf and I, and recently made my third, which is a two-layer hammock, but custom red and black print for the outer layer (red n black is my jam lol). Instead of another heavier fabric on the inner layer, I used a black calendared 0.75oz ripstop, so basically it's like sleeping on silk sheets and more wind resistant. There's so much you can customize with hammocks :]
And even if you can't be bothered by sewing one yourself: the chameleon is amazing! I have slept in it every day for almost 1.5 years now and it is still going!
Exceptional video, some of the basic things in life like the sunrise, birds chirping, trees etc are the best things to be admired, unfortunately we take them for granted.
@@WildBeare if you ever venture up to Staffordshire, Cannock chase has a big pine forest to get lost in. It’s literally on my door step. I used to take the kids wild camping there they loved it.. great videos Claire look forward to seeing more. If you don’t mind me asking where is your accent from ?
Hammock’s are the best so cozy and comfortable. CB you are really good at photography, you capture some of the most beautiful images, including yourself. CB you always inspire me to want to get out and do more, you are so infectious and I love some of the things you say.. such as bits and bobs and fluffy. 😊 I bet you are very fluffy! Hopefully that’s not offensive.🫢
Hello Claire, it is a pleasure for me to looking your videos...you know why? You are charming, natural, positive person doing what love and how you like... You reminded me how it was to wake up in the forest early morning with birds and first light with clear mind and no troubles just happy...I will back to that. Thank you so much for that Claire :) Keep going girl... do what you love by the way which you like...All the Best Pawel
Finally! I was wondering when you were going to get around to hammock hanging! After my first night in one SO many years ago... and I woke up with zero back, hip or shoulder pain... I just KNEW that hiking and camping with a sling was for me!!
That was a lovely view of the trees from below your hammock. Your calming voice blends well with the peaceful surroundings - wish my Google lady sounded like you.
Beautiful. Your surroundings remind me of Epping Forest which I run through daily and too am seeing those wild trumpet shaped pink flowers 🌸 at the mo.

Someone suggested Avon Skin So Soft as a bug repellant. And, yes, it works. It also dissolves some dyes in materials, and can smear colors about. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying.
Great camp out lovely spot you found in the woods and the Trangia stove worked really well I was surprised how easy you got it to lite with just one strike. Brilliant time lapse with all what looked like shooting stars. Just a magical night no wonder you didn't want to leave the hammock it looked really comfortable.
