    I'm running a 350 60 thou over 2 bolt 010 block in a HQ Monaro. Built it about 30 years ago, still running strong. Recently I ditched the holley and installed a quadrajet. This was the bigger 800cfm model. Its on a Victor Jnr manifold so I made a 13mm plastic adaptor and did a little blending in the manifold inlet. A bit of tuning and doing some research, these are not a easy carb to tune, but its now magic! It starts easy, good highway economy, and better power and response than the holley. No flat spot, I can nail it from any load or RPM and it just goes. On the dyno we got just over 400hp. Highly recommend the q-jet if you have the time to fiddle with it.

    Hey joe what are your thoughts on torque plate honing? See you haven’t done any on your last two rebuilds thanks

      I do belive they are necessary in getting an accurate cylinder finish for high end builds. But what im doing here is cheapo home job. Seems to work fine at my power level.

    zero valve lash won,t be good mate you probbley need 5 or 10 thou so once warm you will have less than zero valve hanging open

    • @Joedennett69
      @Joedennett69  Рік тому +1

      Was just doing what I did before. But looking into it. I will increase my lash. Herd people say that the clearance gets larger when warm and I have heard people say it gets smaller too. But if people set lash that would infer the lash getting smaller so I will put some more in it. Cheers

      When hot will expanded close up the lash same as fitted the gudgeon pins in the rods

      If it's hydraulic cam 0 lash plus around half a turn on the nut soild cam needs around at least 5 thou cheers mate love the build 👌 👍

      @@jasonbrack4738 If you have anti-pump up lifters with a hydraulic cam you want zero lash, if you add half a turn after that it won't run. Solids you would want to start around 0.024 thou.
