Worst "circle track" engine I ever saw. The key to that type of racing is longevity and rpm. Some idiot put poor flowing heads and a Performer intake manifold on the engine thinking it will make any lick of power above 4000 rpm? No Wix oil filter. Used actual gaskets for the china walls instead of rtv. Careless
Remember the block looked like it was decked, who knows how much was removed maybe even from heads too. Plus those heads only have a 53cc chamber. Sounds like a decently high compression ratio to me. Also, dude told me he ran it in his dirt track racecar. Maybe this combo needed a dished piston?
Damn 😳😅 And I thought mine was bad when I popped off my heads
Dude that’s a beautiful truck
Here we go!
J.B. Weld the cam together. It'll be fine.
Ha sounds like some fun science
I knew it was a crappy build when I saw the thermostat was glued in backwards.
Crank bolt is snapped.
A fram on this beaut woulda checked out
I'm wondering if this happened due to an oiling issue
That engine tried to self clearance for a stroker crank!
Ha I thought the same

somebody didnt know what they were doing nor looking for when they were putting that combo together.. likely just put it whatever fit and went with it
Sometimes you gotta use what you got I guess
305 heads on a 350 engine block with a 283 crank ??? Who did this job ??? Joe Dirt ?? LOL
Its either a "use what you got" build, or they know something we dont!
I wonder if his push rods were too long?
Maybe. But that cam failure did this engine in
Big dish piston is definitely not race car engine even with those heads
