I grew up on hand and foot controls for skid steer. After owning one with pilot controls for 2 years I will never go back. It's the best system once you get used it.
A lot prep work on the farm! Your home looks amazing. After building our house I can tell you it took no time to get the house completed on the outside and closing it in. The in side seemed it took for ever. Hang in there all of your hard work will pay off!!!
As a dairy farmer IRL who has both a ssv65 and 75 we use the 75 for feed and the 65 for scraping. There is a noticeable difference in hydraulic power and drive power. The 65 has a lower reach so for us it is hard to fill our big kuhn spreader. We like them both.
Hi Eric, drove by your farm today, really tidy looking place. Amazing the difference between how things look on camera vs in person. The yard looks a lot bigger on camera. Was my first time in the Lancaster area, it’s truly beautiful. So many postcard perfect looking farms in all directions. You are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Love your videos, the house is looking great! Cheers from a fellow dairy farmer from Canada.
Your house is looking good, coming right along. The auction dealer sure had a lot on display there, I seen a couple that I would love to have. Good one Eric, thanks for sharing, have a wonderful evening.
I'm up here in Winnipeg Canada and it just blows my mind you guys are able to have running water outside and out cleaning stuff and you're not really that much south of where I am and it's below 0 here.
I'm in sw Manitoba it's -22oc here today with a wicked wind chill. I was supposed to load a tractor for a guy today, he text and said leave it until it warms up next week !
Wishing you steady progress on your house construction. It can be frustrating when contractors jump from job to job. Your planter rebuild sounds like you will have great results..👍
Eric, take a look at your Dewalt batteries before you throw them out. Dewalt warranties many of their lithium batteries for 5 years. You can find the cereal number and manufacture date on the top of them. Call Dewalt and give them your battery's information, and they will usually mail you a brand new one, and you don't even need to mail the old one back!
Amazing how much equipment work needs to be done on the farm. Taking pics before you disassemble is really a super idea. vLove the house progress and the insulation will pay for itself in short time. Thanks for the great video.
I will tell you one thing that you really should do on your home. It's insulate insulate And then insulate some more it will pay off in the long run by keeping your house warm and cool at the temperature you wish versus what's outside. That saves on your utilities. Our home we had to pay a whole $37 for our totally electric home. We pay more for the barn because it's rated commercial and then we pay for 3 lights which is $10 a piece but a home itself is $37 this month. Insulate put extra in.
Good to see you working safely around your equipment, & also wearing ear protection. Your house is coming along nicely. It won’t be long & you’ll be in. Soon to be your family home.
Hi Eric, thank you for another great video! The house is looking awesome, you will not regret by doing both type of insulation, bit costly upfront but years of savings and comfort! Hi dad and family, best wishes stay safe and healthy..... spring around the corner! God Bless
It's interesting to see, thanks. It appears to be one of the more complicated pieces of equipment on the farm. I wish you the best for the year's planting and the cow mastitis issue.
Is it cost effective to do so much work to your planter or would it make more sense to sell it off and replace it ? Just a thought, only you will know how it would work financially 🤷♂️. Always a joy to watch your videos 👍
2/2 is the best application, but I understand your situation. In Kansas have straight runs!!! Those are expensive if u buy new. I ordered for my new 1775 planter and was 3000$ per row!!!
Amazon sells batteries for dewalt that doesn’t have the dewalt name on it, and cost less. They come as the 4.0ah, have a coworker that uses them and says they are the exact same battery.
If you get a tracked skid steer, you might want a Takeuchi, many UA-camrs advocate that brand.. Bty, good call on the spray foam, make sure it’s CLOSED CELL! 🎉
To be successful as a farmer in this day and age, you have to be an expert mechanic, an expert climatologist, an expert agronomist, an expert gambler, a financial genius, and most importantly - a huge prayer warrior. Without all of those things, you’ll never survive.
JUST SUPER,,,,, THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND YOUR DEDICATION THAT YOU BRING TO THOUSANDS OF US,,,, VERY INTERESTING,, FACTUAL,,,, YET MOST OF ALL,,, YOU AND YOUR DADS,,, HANDS ON ,, APPROACH,,, FOR GREAT WORK,,, AND WE PRAY,,, FOR. GOOD FAMILY REVENUE,,,,, A MUCH RESPECTED PROFESSION … PLEASE BE SAFE AND HEALTHY… WELL DONE 👍..
The house is looking great! I hope you will say how much the items at the auction sold for. Any chance you could make your videos about 10 minutes longer? Thanks!
Eric, any chance your dad would do a week in the life of the 9th generation dairyman?
Interested!
Or at least a day
I think it would be a great idea if he was intersted.
@George I have videos of your wife but they can’t be posted on UA-cam
I believe he has taken a day or 2 when Eric was on vacation

I really like the pilot controls in our Cat skid steer. I never cared for the pedals for the loader.
Once you go, pilot control, you’ll never wanna go back to foot pedals you have so much more finesse and control
The skidsteers controlled by the handles is way easier in my opinion, way better than using the foot controls, I love it
Absolutely. Case 1845 for old school like me !!
You’d love the pilot controls once you run them, even your dad would!
Looks like the house is coming together smoothly. Great video👍
Your wife will be excited to have a new home. It’s a great time. A blessing. Hope you aren’t too crammed wherever you’re living now.
Home and farm looking really nice Eric! Thanks for taking us along to the auction!
Pilot control is very easy to get used to. See if you can demo a unit. Years ago when I demoed a SVL75 I never looked back.
Take your old batteries to whatever version of batteries plus and have them rebuild them
I really appreciate how technical farming is, yet how much of it can be learned experientially. Very cool!
A lot prep work on the farm! Your home looks amazing. After building our house I can tell you it took no time to get the house completed on the outside and closing it in. The in side seemed it took for ever. Hang in there all of your hard work will pay off!!!
You'd fall in love with pilot controls!

A small but important suggestion, you can usually recycle your dead batteries at most places that sell new ones, like Lowes.
Most places expect you to pay to recycle

Best thing about Farmers, Family builds/makes a Home. Enjoy the Finish Line. Move In Day! Then you learned, they moved the Finish Line...
Eric, thank you for taking us along with you. We are glad to see your family's home come together!

Dont throw away powertool batteries. You can send them in and theyll put new cells in it for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
I use to not like pilot controls but once you get on to it you will love it and never look back
you would love those joy stick controllers after using it for a couple of hours. We had 17 track skid loaders building golf courses
Love that you said you take pictures I do the same pictures don't lie lol. Hope you and the family are doing well!

I'm in Ohio and it's been above freezing, at least 40F or more, for over 2 weeks and it as just 65 here the other day...
@@sneezing_panda they're calling for a cool down starting tonight 20° F in the 30s next couple days....NE Rural Ohio
Really, really unseasonably warm in NE US this year
55 here today about 3 hours north of Eric in upstate Pennsylvania it’s been so weird…

The house is looking fantastic!
House looks amazing. Hope you get a good price for the sprayer. Would like to see some geeky stuff on planning for this year’s crops.

It is a 365 days a year job

Agree.... insulate more, do fiberglass insulation after!
@@alisciamarotta3888 even between the inside walls and floors it will pay off.
Also helps to put heated floors in basement concrete.

the house is coming along great.
Glad to see the house coming together. Excited FOR you. If you can show us some of the insulation process!
don't throw battery packs away, they refurb and recycle. Your tool supplier should have info.
Love the house progress!
GREAT video Eric. House is getting there. Looks great. Very proud of you bud. Thank you to you and your dad for feeding us.
Good choice on the insulation Eric. You will still need vapor barrier because of the batts but it's cheap. Cheers 🇨🇦
Amazing progress on the house.
House looks great. What a blessing.

Man! That’s a ton of equipment at auction!
looking good Eric god bless
Nice video. House looks great!! I know you're happy.
My boss has pilot controls on his new bobcat skidloader. Pain for beginners and can easily make a mistake loader wise

Good work🇨🇱
Pilot controls are the best. Only way to go.
Ridged has lifetime batteries for their power tools.
House looks good.
thank you
Typically you can switch modes from pilot controls to whatever your comfortable with with the touch of a button in the cab.
The house is looking good
Wow the house looking good
dewalt batteries are rebuildable at battery warehouse and are as good as a new one
Completely jealous of how tight your house is gonna be. :)
Marshal Rebuild does not recommend a hybrid wall insulation system. He recommends to go with one type of Insulation.
I saw his videos. The issue he had was they didn't install 2" everywhere and it caused condensation when the weather got cold.
If u guys get a 2nd skid steer I would go with a JCB 270T. Tracks handle amazing in the mud etc. And u can switch from pilot to case controls
house looks go love the video! (:
11:49 Flash and Batt ftw!
Pilot control is definitely the go. Such a safer way of operating a skid steer.
