No car, anywhere at any time or price, has ever rivaled the design of the C2 fastback Corvette. It is simply the most beautiful car ever built. The 65-67s were stunning.
Agree…….a beautiful car. Most beautiful ever? I don’t know. 68 Vette? 82 Vette? 95 4 cam C4? Ford GT40? F40? Beauty is a personal preference.
TOTALLY agree ! ! ! ! ! ! !
The car that made the stuff the Jetsons had something we all dreamed about getting someday.
AC COBRA has entered ..
Jaguar xke came out in 1963. That my friend is THE most beautiful car ever.
@@FYMASMD Agree the Jag is a beauty. But as I said before………….subjective. The most beautiful? I don’t know. P4 Ferrari. 69 Camaro. LT5 C4 Vette. BMW M3 V8. 67 Nova. 70 Hemi challenger. 70 Boss Mustang. 99 Cobra R. Choose your flavor.
If you ever see a '63 Z06 with "factory" 4 wheel disc brakes an A/C at one point it belonged to my dad. The car was originally bought by a big muckity muck at GM. A year later when 4 wheel disc was available he had the factory install the brakes and A/C. Sometime in the '70s dad bought it from him. I'm about a foot too tall to fit so when dad passed I sold it to a family friend. He still has it.
Wow that is awesome - where is it located?
@@rarecars3336 The Houston area.
@@rarecars3336 Caused an uproar at Bloomington Gold. Even though modified far from stock it is still "factory" original. With documentation to prove it. Some of the cork sniffers lost their minds.
@@nucleargrizzly1776 🤣🤣👍👍
Great story! I hope your dad didn't modify the split pillar. The discs are more reliable without having to adjust them over the life of the shoe, but unlike drums, they make friction at all times stealing a smidge of HP.
My 3rd grade teacher drove a basic Chevy Nova to school as her everyday driver. Her son was the top salesman at the local Chevy dealer and he gave her a real deal on her little Nova. One day we saw her arrive in White 327 fuel injected Corvette with a red interior: her son had given her a 'loaner car' while the Nova was being serviced.
One of my most favorite cars of all time
GM HOF designer Ed Welburn said the 63 split window Corvette was his all-time favorite automobile design.
Love your videos ❤❤❤
My choice for ultimate 60s sleeper is the 1964 Chevy II / Nova 2 door post with the 300hp 327 engine option and 4 on the floor. You could easily work the 327 up to make over 400hp and in such a light car you could really put all that power to work.
It was Duntov & Larry Shinoda that designed the C2.
Actually, it was mostly a Billy Mitchell design.
You should do a video on the car that I just bought! It’s a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am, two seat convertible auto form roadster❤❤❤
‘63 was a good year. 🦾
you should make a video on the manta mirage
Another great video! While I have long appreciate Vettes, all I really knew about the ‘63 was the unique split window configuration for what I think was that single model year. And curiously, that wasn’t even referenced here as there was so much else to share.
Anyone have any input on whether it was true that its shape - specifically the front clip - *generated* lift?
I love the first 3 generations of the Corvette. Unfortunately I'm 6'2", 250. So I can't fit into the 2nd gen without modification. So if I am ever able to get one. It would have to be something in disrepair. Because it would have to be modified. And I'm not the type of guy who is gonna modify an all original classic car. But I am the type of guy who will cut up a run down classic and modify the crap out of it
im 6ft 2 and 280lbs, i fit in any corvette
1st here. Special machine the Z06
Special indeed! Thanks for watching!
1964 C2 Stingray is the Greatest Corvette of All.
@0:28 I don’t see an air hose in that ratchet! 🤯
The 63 grand sport was a 63 model and only 6 were built and the frame was totally different and the engine was a 377 CU. The car was a light weight
Speedo only going up to 140 mph in the ZO6 ?
My friends 63 's speedo goes up to 180 mph.
That must've been replaced then.
No it was factory stock
Very.. European American, like a 1964 1/2 Mustang❤
Everything looks like an old bar of soap now 🤮
FFW the bullshit to 3:00....you're welcome 😊
If the Z06 was rereleased today exactly as was in 1963 how many units do you estimate would my dealership sell today?
Sentimentally is bs.
