You had access to both ends so, you should have tested the wire for continuity first before feeding a new one. On the sensor side grounded to the frame. On the glove box side have a light tester connected to B+ from the fuse box and then pin it out. Also, You did not show how you re-used the connectors. Did you splice it on both ends?
I did test for resistance on the wire. No go. I basically soldered the wire to a new pigtail to the knock sensor. And just spliced on the glove box.. I believe..don't remember it to clear.
You can test it for continuity but if it is intermittent ( cable inside may be start corroting ) who knows replace the cable and if it fixed the issue you are good.
I was watching with my 20 month-old daughter, when your daughter said "Hi" mine said "Hi!" back
How cute.
Great Info sir! nice job on the fix! i'm making my own wire extension right meow. Thank You.
Did this fix the problem or did it come back?
Which wire did you splice into on the sensor side?
Could you provide specifications of the cable used to replace the original. Thanks :)
I think I was just a 14 or 16 gauge wire. Stranded.
