- I have done it again. I created the largest and most complete power ranking on the entire internet for another verse. This time it was for Harry Potter. I of course included the books and movies, as well as the Fantastic Beasts and where to find them movies, Hogwarts Legacy video game, and the Cursed Child play. I absolutely love the list, but you forgot to mention something that’s quite important in the battle between Professor Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort, Professor Dumbledore was protecting Harry for most of the battle, so he was multitasking whilst fighting the greatest darkest wizard of all, I would put the Professor slightly higher than Lord Voldemort
Also in the Books, unlike the movie, Dumbledore was very much in control of the duel and Voldemort on the backfoot. But i guess either pick could be okay.
Well, maybe, but remember that Voldemort (at least in movie) also was multitasking, as he was also trying to kill Harry. That is why the protection was needed.
Also he didnt mention the fact dumbledore just defeated ever death eater in the department of mysteries, and was dueling both bellatrix and voldemort, and protecting harry, and it wasnt even close in the book, dumbledore caused voldemlrt to flee like a bitch.
@@fallen9997 true but in these cases trying to defend someone else tends to be harder than trying to kill the person so Dumbledore would have been taking on the harder of the two multitask.

I think the craziest of Voldemort's feats is dueling and winning against McGonagall, Slughorn and Kingsley simultaneously despite the three of them being protected by Harry's sacrifice. And despite him using the disobedient Elder Wand.

I would’ve put Lupin a little higher because of his resume of being one of the only three combatants to come out of the Battle of the Department of Mysteries unscathed (the other two being Harry and Dumbledore) and how well he does in all the other battles, only losing to Dolohov because he was rusty from only practicing protective charms for 6 months. But it may also just be personal bias since Remus is my favourite character. Awesome list tier list though, very valid reasoning for putting Tom at the top
Remus could have been higher, he just lacked the feats.
Something I would argue against Dumbledore fighting equally with Voldemort in the fifth year. In the book Dumbledore almost toyed with Voldemort, keeping Bellatrix stuck and Harry safe while more than equally fighting with Voldemort. I would put Dumbledore above Voldemort and might even put Old Dumbledore above prime Voldemort (who I feel isn't the resurrected one, but I have no proof of that.).
Fawks had to block a killing curse in that fight for Dumbledore, so I wouldn’t say he was toying with him.
@@weeaboo-warrior I am not sure how much that was necessary, since Dumbledore already had very easily avoided two killing curses, fighting a Voldemort trying his best to kill Dumbledore while also protecting another person and keeping a fourth person captive. It seems to me, especially with how Dumbledore escaped one killing curse by apparating, that this move was more to cause a surprise attack on Voldemort and keeping him trapped than any real desperation from Dumbledore

Yes, I am definitely making the Boys tier list. It will probably come out right when the final season finishes, which I think is likely season 5.
The reasoning behind Dumbledore being below Voldemort is better than most but I think certainly book dumbledore is more powerful. He took down an elderwand empowered grindlewald, when fighting voldemort in oftp he is the one on the front foot while protecting harry. Also while voldemort partook in dark magic dumbledore pretty much discovered an unheard of school of magic that is the most powerful kind of magic and how to manipulate it - sacrificial love. I would say that negates all the dark stuff voldy knew.
The problem with the sacrificial love magic is he has to die to use it, lol.
Good video mate, but i have to agree with Ross. If you reread the chapter were dumbledore and voldemort fight, you will discover that it wasnt even close, and dumbledore destroyed both voldemort and bellatrix. The use of film logic in this video didnt make alot of sense to me.
Real random talk: I loved “basic cast” from the legacy game, how it’s essentially pure magic being blasted without a direct desired outcome as a spell, like “magic missile”

If we count Newt together with all of his magical beasts (that most of them are loyal to him and fight alongside him whenever he needs support) he is easily just below Dumbledore and Grindelwald if he found himself in the perfect scenario to utilise his beasts' abilities.
There are plenty of issues with this list, but none are such a glaring issue as Molly Weasley being placed not just multiple places higher, but multiple tiers higher than she should be.
Winning a fight doesn't mean you should be placed above someone. You already mentioned two of the disadvantages Bellatrix was at in the fight. You also completely missed out on others. Bellatrix had been fighting the entire battle, including just having come off of a 3 on 1 fight. Whereas that was Molly's first fight of the entire battle as she spent the entire time in the great hall. Landing a lucky kill on a worn down arrogant opponent is not that impressive, especially considering even young students are powerful enough to kill like that.
Pretty sure Molly was fighting the entire time off screen. And Rowling said she wanted to show off how powerful Molly was. That statement wouldn't really make sense if she only won due to all of those factors. Bellatrix in good shape might win, but Molly should be around that level.

I think Barty Crouch Jr deserves to be placed higher due to his feats in resisting the imperius curse which requires a very strong will, as well as defeating Moddy and taking him as prisoner. Also he displays great skill in disguise and social stealth.

I think Harry got Bellatrix by surprise, but I agree with you that Snape is above Bellatrix. I would personally put Bellatrix over Minerva, based on their book feats though.

Holy shit, the detail in this video is actually incredible. Great list too, can’t complain at all. The only things I wasn’t sure on were the fact that the basilisk is so high, since second year Harry defeated it (with the help of Fawkes and the sword of Gryffindor ofc). Although, I’m not gonna act like I know loads of the details about Harry Potter so there could easily be a good reason for that that I’m forgetting. Also, I’d have Dumbledore above Voldemort but I don’t mind it either way at all. The main reason I have for it is that Voldemort feared Dumbledore for so long and there must’ve been good reason for that.
Fawks is immortal and was the perfect counter for the basilisk. One it lost its eyes it’s arguably lower, but being able to kill with just a look makes it really OP. Voldemort features Dumbledore because he was strong enough to threaten him, it doesn’t automatically mean he thinks he is stronger. In the order of the Phoenix Voldy was confident he could kill Dumbledore.
Fawks blinded the Basilisk or there would have been no way Harry would have survived, let alone killed it

Snape and McGonagall are truly equals. Snape was probably holding back BUT Rowling herself said that McGonagall would have killed him had he not escaped and she said that McGonagall is the most powerful witch alive during Harry‘s life.

Fenrir Greyback did not have the Black Mark, not because he was weak, because werewolves were shunned and hated by everyone (Bellatrix was ready to kill Tonks for marrying a werewolf), and so Fenrir is one of the strongest Death Eaters, Barty Crouch Jr is also underestimated, although he did not show his strength, but it was hinted to us several times that he is quite strong (man defeated Moody, with a little help from Wormtail, but that already says something, I think he is roughly equal to Bellatrix and is one of the strongest Death Eaters

I think if you managed to play a hardcore playthrough of hogwarts legacy you would easely be the most powerfull ever.
Have you ever seen Doctor Who? The the early 2000s seasons have obviously aged really bad but season 8 to 10 is amazing and it’s a very strong verse with many god like characters who can destroy universes and manipulate timelines.

@@weeaboo-warrior there’s a crazy episode where The Doctor is put in prison and because he’s so dangerous it’s made of the strongest material in the verse, but because The Doctor is immortal he can’t die of old age so he just punched the door for 4 billion years to escape the prison. Eventually the door is destroyed.
I think if we still get to play the same MC of HL in the next game and by the end of their last year they will br above Voldy and Dumbedore for sure .

Ok, so I have a very strange request. It's not on fiction, but maybe you could rank the countries of the world by power. But not just consider their modern day versions, but also their past ones. For example, let's say you have Russia. You can add the USSR and the Russian Empire to the power level of Russia, and in the end rank it based on overall power it possesed in it's entire history. So it would be more of a strongest countries ever instead of strongest countries today .

Honestly I agree with most of the postions. The only one I disagree with is Molly. I would put her next to her husband in mid professor tier.
The thing is she was mentaly amped and was protecting her daughter. She has no other feats except luckly killing cocky Bellatrix who was toying with her even without her wand.
Putting her on this position would also mean she is stronger than Moody, Kingslay and Flitwick who are well known being one of the strongest wizards.
That could be the case, but since it’s her only feat there is nothing to suggest she is any weaker either.

the fact that your using a wand thats constantly fighting you and backfiring even killing you at the end and still just childing most of the verse says something about you
i always loved how the elder wand was the divisive part if why harry won. Had voldemort paid attention and not been arrogant he would’ve realized why. I also liked how its quick to change hands like all they have to do is disarm you with it and its theirs even not boosting you if your fighting an opponent on or above your level. That makes Voldemorts death by it so much sweeter considering this wands personality and that it refused to actually kill its owner
Hover the only reason why delfienie was able to beat Harry at all was because she'd built up her skill set accordingly i.e. prep time. Like you can know all there is to know about Harry's life plus skills and wipe him easy. But that doesn't help you for squat when say Ron or Hermione step into the ring.
I mentioned how she prepped for Harry. But it’s pretty clear non of them had a chance against her in a 1v1.
If the top 3 isn’t 1. Harry 2. Voldemort 3. Dumbledore then something is VERY wrong

idk i still think dumbeldore is stronger than Voldemort. Voldemort didnt want the beef until dumbeldore was dead. Also dumbeldore in his prime was def prolly stronger, unless wizards don't go down in power. Would be interested to see where the 4 founding wizards of hogwarts were ranked as well as merlin, who is canon. I believe he was probably the strongest wizard of all time.

I would also say for dumbledore, he is was not nearly as strong as Voldemort, dumbledore with the elder wand should be at least 22x stronger (using multipliers from the new hogwarts legacy) and was matching dumbledore.
Where are you getting that multiplier? Higwarts Legacy doesn’t even have the elder wand as far as I’m aware.

You get the elder wand, your wand you get in the game is the best possible wand for each person, it amplifies you more than almost any other wand possible, but with my normal difindo I did 700 dmg for a normal, and with the elder wand did 15,900-17,800, it was the same for all other spells. The elder wand is BUSTED. Increases dmg more than max level optimization for dmg and using optimized setup spells. Every shot is essentially a killing curse, it’s busted.

If Harry is above or below Hermione will be Interesting, she gets her wand out and takes out three Death Eaters before Harry gets a spell off in the books and does better in classes

@@weeaboo-warrior the wiki plus a Harry Potter power scaling video similar to this channel, looking at the wiki again she didn’t take them out, she blocked all their attacks before Harry could even get a spell off, making her faster at casting magic then he is.
@@bab3419 If it's the scene I'm thinking of, it was during the battle of Hogwarts and she just quickly reacted and made the stairs beneath them into a slide to help them quickly get away.
I still say the cursed child isn’t canon but yknow go off. Even with that though, harry is weak compared to characters like snape, minerva, and bellatrix, even in his prime. Its stated quite a lot in the books that harry just isn’t that good of a wizard, and even Hermione is simply above average, not exceptional. (Funnily enough she is called exceptional a few times, but you get what I’m saying. I think a really interesting character to scale is snape though. It’s obvious he’s in the highest tiers, but it’s unclear about where exactly he should go. Would minerva have beaten him in her prime? Or could he beaten voldemort in a 1v1? While I don’t think either is likely, it is really difficult to say for sure. Also you know, you really can use the movies as evidence. Now personally, I think the movies are great, however they are simply an interpretation of the books, and should not be considered canon. Anyway, great video imo.
The cursed child is meh, but Rowling said it was canon, so I guess it is until she decides to change her mind. Harry was never an amazing wizard, but he was always an amazing duelist. There is a reason he was chosen to teach defense against the dark arts to Dumbledore's army, even to kids older than him. There is no way Hermione isn't a top tier witch. Multiple teachers have said she is the best they've seen, she is the definitely the best we see in their generation, and if we go by the cursed child she becomes minister of magic. Yeah, the movies aren't really canon to the books, they are a part of their own canon. This list was initially going to be a movie only list, but I decided to make it a book/movie list. And thanks for the complement and in depth comment.
@@weeaboo-warrior to be fair, rowling also said that the werewolf curse was a metaphor for HIV and that wizards use to not use toilets so I don’t exactly trust what she says anymore. But, i take your point. Imo, i think the best thing to do is take the original series as finished and use a death of the author approach. As for the hermione thing, here is what I think is interesting. Hermione was a good witch, no doubt above average. But she also didn’t get perfect marks on her OWLs. Now, that doesn’t seem super significant until you realize that a relatively weak auror like dawlish got perfect marks on his. I think it goes to show that while hermione was talented, she wasn’t exactly uncommon. Harry is a good duelist though for sure. The main problem with placing him high is that he has no real feats in the books. Nearly all his duels are either lost, group battles, or wins from circumstance, such as his final battle with voldemort where he only wins because of the elder wand.
@@KanderUdon Maybe Dawlish is just a genius? Who else got perfect marks? Hermione seemed to clearly be the smartest in their year, if not in Hogwarts in its entirety at the time. If we use book only, I agree on Harry. Movie Harry did far better against Voldemort though and his curse child feats along with being the head auror are pretty good. I would be fine with him being under Snape though. I could see him as low as the bottom of that tier next to his parents.
To say that the shield on Hogwarts had no dents on it from all the spells is correct but wrong in what you are implying unless the book stated it differently than in the movie. I say this because yes there were no dents, but it was clearly cracking and taking damage before Voldemort hit it. The shield visually reminded me of glass as the hits caused cracks and if it works similarly the one hard hit in one spot while the rest is covered in cracks would make the required amount of damage needed to be performed by Voldemort drastically lower than if no one had hit it before that.
Yeah with all the spells the combined they were doing some minor damage, but the fact Voldemort instantly broke through when he attacked when all those hundreds of spells a second didn't proves he is more powerful than every death eater there combined, unless you want to argue they were about to destroy the shield the second Voldemort attacked and it was just a coincident he attacked at that exact time.
@@weeaboo-warrior I’m arguing that while it is very impressive and does show his strength the creator of the video is over hyping it.
If you put minor damages in glass or objects that act like it then it automatically reduces the amount of damage needed to break it. In this case there was a lot of minor pieces of damage throughout the shield making it easier to break.
Secondly if you put all your force/power into one singular point it tends to break everything easier. Now this is magic so I can’t say it for sure acts that way but I am saying there is an argument to be made that if all of those hundreds of spells hit one spot of the shield at the same time then it is possible they would have done the same level of damage as him.
@@marc68521 You bring up good points, but at the end of the day it's all unquantifiable. What we do know is Voldemort did something all the death eaters together couldn't, and we also see the light/explosion from his spell was brighter and larger than the light from all of the death eater's spells combined, and the fact the death eater's spells were all spread out should have actually given them an advantage in that regard.

Now in a battle that is going to take time having a continuous barrage is likely ideal as the enemies protecting are having to defend multiple areas, but once all the areas are being equally protected it is most ideal to hit in one spot as resources are being used across a larger area and unable to defend the singular spot as well as they could of. unless you were talking about that their light should have been brighter and I would still disagree with that as power in one spot will cause a larger glow point than if they are spread out. if they are spread out there will be more points of light but each light would be more dim than if you placed them all in one spot.
@@marc68521 Yeah I was talking about the glow, not the damage. A singular point would have a brighter glow, but all of the glows spread should cover a larger area, no? I guess it’s also harder to say since all the smaller shots didn’t go off at the exact same time so they glow would be less because of that, so I’ll agree the glow argument isn’t that good.
Correction: spiders are not poisonous... venom has to be injected into the bloodstream, while poison has to be either consumed, inhaled or simply touched. So if you drink venom, you will be fine.

Though why do you think Voldemort is better than Dumbledore coz you know the McGonagall quote right after Dumbledore saying Voldemort has powers he will never have implies Dumbledore doesn’t use said powers coz he chooses not to as he is too noble, so it makes it out like he can use it if he wanted to. So that would be him being capable but choosing not to. And even fighting like that, I believe he was more dominant in the OotP book battle. Voldemort intended to kill him there as he said but decided to possess Harry instead mid fight which would only show he realised he couldn’t kill Dumbledore as he intended, and they both at this point accepted that Dumbledore wasn’t trying to kill him. So if he can’t beat that Dumbledore basically only wasting time until ministry arrives, how could he be any competition for a full trying Dumbledore that is going for the kill or at least not just wasting time? It doesn’t seem likely to me.

But I guess you could argue Great does not necessarily mean more powerful.
@@denizkenger52 Yeah, great isn’t equivalent to power. And you could even argue Dumbledore is arguably slightly more powerful but Voldemort is more of a threat in combat due to his willingness to use dark curses, and he is harder to kill due to his horcruxes. The opinion of Dumbledore being above Voldemort is not one I have a problem with.

But Dumbledore literally defeated Voldemort while trying to protect Harry and it’s literally stated that Voldemort feared him While Dumbledore didn’t.
And the elder wand argument is sorta irrelevant seeing as it’s standard equipment and Dumbledore had it when he was in his prime so the only thing that would do is place Voldemort above Early Dumbledore. And it’s stated multiple times that Dumbledore was the greatest wizard of his time and casually blocked his attacks while at the same time trying to protect Harry.
So switch Dumbledore and Voldemort.
You forgot the protagonist of hogwarts mystery and other character from the game. The mc is arguably the most skilled and powerful of their generation and has mass verstalitiy in magic. I would put them in high proffessor tier.

Every single time harry duelle with voldermort, he either reached a stale mate or was able to defeat him aside from the 5th part, which he did technically manage to resist voldermort in his mind. But even though ou count that out, he defeated voldermort in the 4th part in the graveyard, in the battle of the 7 potters as well as the final part. So does that make him stronger?
He didn’t defeat him. In the graveyard the ghosts had to save him, in the ministry Dumbledore had to save him, and in Hogwarts he only won due to him being the master of Voldemort’s wand and his spell backfiring.

Preface I have no interest in the cursed child and have not seen it.
That said, not sure about adult Harry in high professor tier. In my opinion, he is slightly above average wizard at best apart from DADA. But compared to people in the same tier and their understanding of magic he does not belong. For example, Snape who was creating new spells/editing potion recipes while at Hogwarts is something completely out of Harry's league.
17 year old Harry was already beating death eaters left and right, and as an adult he was the head auror who could take on Voldemort's daughter, so he should definitely be in that tier, though you could argue he should be lower down on it. Snape is a beast, so I could see why you think he should be higher.
What do where now? Voldemort ranked over Dumbledore? You even remember the time dumbledore just kicked his ass half asleep in the Ministry of Magic?
That didn’t happen. It was a back and forth duel and in the book Fawks had to take a killing curse for Dumbledore. That’s like if Nagini started helping Voldemort.
